I've been fighting a ton of fraudulent charges on my card that all occurred in June, to the tune of almost $1300, and for the longest time, I was trying to figure out where my info may have been compromised. I just remembered that this happened, and from what I can tell, at least one other person on this forum had someone use their card for unauthorized purchases, too (also at Dunkin Donuts, just like mine was). Looking back, I should have ordered a new card the moment I received the letter from Gamestop, but forgot about it in the midst of everything I was doing at the time. I'm still waiting for my credit card company to refund me almost $100 (and I don't know why they haven't yet), but thankfully they've already refunded the rest.
I hope no one else has had to go through this, since it's been quite the stressful month for me as a result of it. I'm still angry at my credit card company for somehow not realizing that these purchases were nothing like the ones I've made with them for almost nine years now; no joke, some of the purchases included a hotel in Florida, then a restaurant in Washington state on the very next day. I'm someone who's very frugal with their card and rarely goes out of town, but I suddenly became a rich playboy gallivanting across the country and my CC company didn't think that was strange. I'm halfway tempted to shut down my entire account after seeing how lax their security was and given how little I use my credit card, but this has without a doubt taught me to keep a much closer eye on my accounts, either way.
