I just bumped my first Suffering pre-order to a Fatal Frame 3 one and then pre-ordered The Suffering 2 again(using the trade 5 deal), my local EB was totally cool with this.
Anyways here's what I used(all PO):

Driv3r(xbox)-$2 before bump
Bad Boys(ps2)-$3 before bump
Tron 2.0(xbox)-$2 before bump
MAT 1(ps2)-$2 before bump
Enter the matrix(ps2)-$1 before bump

awesome! I hope that EB has some more trade in deals next month, I wouldn't mind a trade 5 for Battlefield 2 or Soul Calibur 3.
I just traded in 5 for the NBA Live 2006, I was chatting with the guys about getting the gift receipt, they were like, yeah great idea. You know that would work on the buy 2 get 1 for free software deal. You could return the free game and get the entire cost of the game back. Well thats a little shady for me, but you other CAG's...
when you return a game with a gift receipt, does it have to be at taht same exact eb games location or just any eb games?
Doesn't really matter, but if you go to the same EB, you'd obviously want to avoid returning it back to the same clerk just in case he remembers.

hahaha, I know what you mean. There's two guys at my EB who are always working together so I make sure I always trade in to them, plus they're cool about multiples or sealed games.

There's about 4 other guys at that EB and another EB I split my changing preorders with or go to the other EB in my hood.

Typing it all out it sure seems like a lot of stupid work heh.

Don't do too much of this though . . . their local DM might go through the receipts and call them on it.

I did another NBA Live today (the clerk couldn't find the GC one in the sys so I did PS2)

all on PS2

Megaman X8 $4
Atari Anthology $4
Bloodrayne 2 $4
MAT #1 $3
Rocky $1.50

With the plus $5 it would have been over $40 . . . but $50 is better.

Sept. 26th:

GC - Mortal Kombat DA: $3
GC - Batman Vengeance: $2
GC - Spy Hunter: $2
GC - Rocky: $2
GC - Powerpuff Girls RR: $4
PS2 - Rocky: $1.50
PS2 - Strike Force Bowling: $1
PS2 - Street Racing Syndicate: $4
PS2 - Call of Duty Finest Hour: $6

All PO of course...
No receipt needed - just your ID. I make sure NOT to have my receipt so I can ask for the gift receipt and they won't notice/remember I got the game with trade-in deals.
Awesome. I preordered a Suffering for PS2 at one EB, and a NBA Live 06 for PS2 at the other... I have no interest in either game. I was planning to try the gift receipt method but I figured I'd piss someone off. Being able to go to the other store will help too.

How long should I wait to return the game? Will it matter at all?

You have 14 days . . . I usually wait a day or two. Just don't do it right away . . . even if the clerk does it, the DM may flag it and crackdown on returns???

Gift receipt is likely to help.

Brought in today, all PO and priced before $5:

WWE: Day of Reckoning (GC) $7
Def Jam V:FFNY (GC) $6
Call Of Duty: FH (PS2) $6
Resident Evil: CodeVeronica (PS2) $1 (IIRC)
Tomb Raider: AoD (PS2) $1
Bombastic (PS2) $.75
Ghosthunter (PS2) $4
Nicktoons Movin' (PS2) $4

Heh, thanks for the warning, wouldn't want the guys at my EB to get in trouble as they're pretty nice. I've run out of games to trade too, was waiting on the TRU sale but that's a no go.

Another day, another $5 bonus trade:

Xbox - Crash N Burn: $3
PS2 - Bad Boys: $3
PS2 - Trivial Pursuit: $3
PS2 - CODFH: $6
PS2 - Atari Anthology: $4

$44 total with bonus... They also let me swap the horribly mangled Klonoa 2 I got from EB Games online with a nice minty one in the store. Only their nicer copy had no manual, so I'm left with one that looks like it went through a washing machine (with the game I think). I didn't even want to TRY the disc in my PS2 because it would probably have harmed the system. Worst piece o' crap I ever got from EBgames.com, and of course, it was the ONE game I wanted to keep (the rest are cheapies for free shipping that I then trade in at GR, like Auto Modellista - of course those come mint!).

I'm running out of things to trade at EB. I might have to double up on a game, even though I'm hesitant. There is a pretty much never ending supply of CoD:FH at the TRU's around here. I would only do one at a time, but I don't have much else to put with them! Oh well, the deal ends Friday anyway and I will take a hiatus from GR and EB deals for a while - I be burnt out... Time to play some of these damn games!

when do the suffering 2 and nba live 06 come out anyway? do they just give you a copy when you trade the games and you ask for a gift receipt?

Yesterday, 9/27. You fill out a small form and they print you a preorder receipt. You don't really need the receipt since you are in the system with a preorder.

Not sure what you mean exactly. I preordered these over the last few weeks. I picked up NBA Live Tuesday (just showing my ID) and asked for a gift receipt at that time. I am going to pick up my Suffering 2 order later Weds and ask for a gift receipt then. Though I am actually keeping the NBA Live. "The Suffering" is another matter :D.

The EB clerks I talked to were not aware of any upcoming deals for October, though they assume there will be "something" since October is a big month for games.
