i need to drop by best buy for a few cheap games for the new trade-in deals and was wondering. Are these games still PO?

(all ps2)

beyond good and evil
cabela's big game hunter
max payne 2
midway arcade classics
bad boys

i remembered that metal arms is now POX but I thought some of these were being turned away as well.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think that Max Payne 2 and Bad Boys are PO, THey were for me when I traded them. Also, you should call your local EBGames and ask the guy if they can be traded in for such and such promotion. :D :D
I was at Half Price Books and for $5 each bought Real Pool PS2 and Eighteen Wheeler GC because I didn't see them on the POX list . . . hope they work.
I forgot the best part . . . they gave me $8 for a big bag full of current magazines I brought in to sell . . . great because a whole lot of them are freebies I get because of CAG.

So, now, with the $5 bonus per game (if trading 5 or more games) deal, we need to know the trade-in values of PO games (though it sounds like more games might qualify for this deal anyway).

Here is what I have gotten, or been quoted, the last few weeks:

PS2 Strike Force Bowling: $1
PS2 Trivial Pursuit: $3
PS2 Midway 1: $3
PS2 Breath of Fire DQ: $2
PS2 Kya Dark Lineage: $1
PS2 Bad Boys: $5
PS2 Starsky & Hutch: $2
PS2 Resident Evil Code Veronica: $1
PS2 Pryzm: $0.50
PS2 Crazy Taxi: $1

Xbox Mafia: $2
Xbox Starsky & Hutch: $1
Xbox Metal Gear Solid Substance: $2

GC Batman Vengeance: $2
GC Spyhunter: $2
GC Rocky: $2
GC Star Wars Rogue Leader: $2

In July (for the GT4 deal) I got the following (so you will get these prices or even less now):
PS2 Rocky: $1.50
PS2 Kelly Slater Pro Surfer: $2
GC Turok: $0.75
PS2 Beyond Good & Evil: $2
GC NCAA FB 2005: $4
PS2 Metal Arms: $2 (POX now but listed in case the exclusions are less restrictive for the $5 deal)

There's not a lot of opportunity for credit building in that lot. Bad Boys, Trivial Pursuit, Midway 1, and GC NCAA Football 2005 (if you can find it!) are OK.

We need some pricing info from some of the more expensive TRU clearance games to see what they fetch at EB. If anyone has done any other recent trade-ins please post the values here - might as well keep that info in the same thread as the POX list.

i read another thread about a "sale" going on at blockbusters possibly starting on Sept. 1st that would knock down the cost of used games significantly. More importantly, it is running in conjunction with their buy2 get1 free deal. If you can still find cheap PO games at your local stores, it might be worth hitting them after the 1st to stock up for the bonus $5 trade in deal.

If I can verify this rumor I'll post back with my finds.

Just traded in a bunch of games to ebgames

Gamecube
Spy hunter - $2 = $7 (Paid 5) had 2
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance $3 = $8 (paid 5)
Timesplitters 2 $2 = $7 (Paid 5) had 2
Powerpuff girls $4 = $9 ( my best deal) (paid $2.50) had 2
Resident Evil 0 $4 =$9 (my case was shot and discs were abit messy, TRU had new for $10 so i replaced it)
Casper $2 = $7 (had)
Worms Blast $2 = $7 (had)

Xbox
Lemoney sniket $4 = $9 (paid 5) had 2
Ghost recon island thunder $2 = $7 (paid 5)

PS2
Trivial pursuit $3 = $8 (paid 5)
R-type final $3= $8 (paid 5)

$61 spent = $102 credit

i did alot of this to test prices on certain TRU games and i still have quite a few of powerpuff girls to unload

There apparently is no limit to the trade, once you hit 5 games every game gets an extra $5, so its not in multiples. All these were on one transaction.

Were all these games PO titles (should show on the receipt)? Also, is there any way we can convince you to post the trade values? That is critical to people deciding whether they want to drag those games in or not.

these trade in values are from august 12th. i used them for the zelda deal, but have since switched the credit to my 360.

Tony Hawk's Underground (XBox) - $2.00
Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic (XBox) - $5.00
Soul Calibur II (GC) - $4.00
Wave Race: Blue Storm (GC) - $1.50
Updated My List with trade values
wow, thats a crap load of credit, btw does anyone know if PSP games are included in this deal?

What about multiple copies of games? Would I be able to trade in 5 copies of Max Payne 2 (if it's not POX by friday), or will they tell me I can only trade 1, or at the most 2 or 3?

I've read before someone brought 8 copies of one game, and the clerk rang them up as separate transactions, but that would kill the 5 or more bonus this time.

If the Blockbuster sale starting Friday is national, Max Payne 2 should be $2.99 b1g1F=$2 each.

BTW, NCAA March Madness '05 = $4 (before bonus)
Jampack 11 $1 (POX)
Lemony Snicket = $4 (before bonus)
Turok (PS2)= 75Cents NOT POX (PO)

That was on 8/26

They shouldn't take the multiple copies (usually a rule in their deals) but a clerk might.

I never try to do multiples on a trade-in deal. But this bonus cash is a little different.

PSP Games *Do Not* work for this deal.
Oh, I left my TRU receipt hidden behind the booklet of Turok by accident...it shows I paid $1 new for it :)
How did you get Turok for a $1?
How did you get Turok for a $1?
I got an Xbox Turok at TRU for $1. $2 minus green tag 50% off :D. It wasn't tagged at all I just asked to scan it and was shocked. Even though it is POX (Xbox version is for some reason) and only $1 trade-in at GR, I thought I better get it for some reason :D.
Even though it is POX (Xbox version is for some reason) and only $1 trade-in at GR, I thought I better get it for some reason :D.
I think we call that Deal Obsession, a.k.a. "It Was On Sale, Honey" Syndrome. ;)

The following games are still PO today - I used them for the $5 bonus deal, which seems not to work on POX games.

GC Fairly Oddparents SS: $6
GC Powerpuff Girls RR: $4
GC Mortal Kombat DA: $3
PS2 R-Type Final: $3
PS2 Trivial Pursuit: $3
Xbox Kung Fu Chaos: $4
Xbox Mafia: $2

Xbox Turok is still POX, and gets a whopping 25 cents in trade :D.
How did you get Turok for a $1?

I got an Xbox Turok at TRU for $1. $2 minus green tag 50% off :D.
Same. Except when I was at TRU, the clerk said to me:
"Hey, you wanna buy a PS2 game for a dollar?"
I said, "of course!", of course (before seeing what it even was).

BTW, before you go looking, it was from LAST YEAR'S Green Tag sale, not this years.

Yeah, I also got a Drake for $2. I think I overpaid :D.

I'm saving the Turok and Drake for some kind of no- or limited-restriction promo, like the one EB ran earlier this year ($10 bonus for 2 games). Both of these games would have been good for that. They will come in handy at some point. If worse comes to worse, I can use the lovely green cases for something :D.

When I asked the EB dudes whether POX titles worked with the bonus (they said they didn't but again I just think they assume that without actually trying them) I mentioned that the previous "bonus" credit deal only excluded sports titles. I got blank stares.. they don't even remember their own deals, sad...

the deal only works with qualifying games for the PS2, XBOX, and GC....the banner inside EB clearly states that.
VietGurl are you maintaining the POX list, I'm preparing for a run at the Suffering presell, but I dont want any surprises.
I don't know what is up with Vietgurl but I have an update that was provided to me by an inside source... I have not vouched for any of these personally, but since it is games you should avoid, there's no harm in following it! My comments are in parenthesis.

GC
Disney Football
Metroid Prime (surprising)
NBA Live 2004
NBA Street 2 (note to self - do NOT pick this up at Target when it hits $5 :D)
Urban F/Scr (I assume this is the BB Freestyle Street Soccer?)
WWF Wrestlemania

XBOX
ESPN College Hoops 2k5
March Maddness 2004
Micro Mayham (I learned the hard way that this is really "Room Zoom")
MT Lotus
Outlaw Volleyball:Red Hot
Outlaw Golf: 9 more holes of Christmas
Outlaw Golf: 9 holes of Christmas
World Series Baseball
World Series Baseball 2003
XTRM b/scr (don't know what this is, unless it is XGRA which we already have listed)

PS2
Formula 1 (not sure which, looks like there are 4)
Island Xtreme Stunts
March Maddness 2004
Metal Gear Solid 2 Demo
NBA Live 2004 (we've known about this for a few weeks now)
NBA Street 2

Looks like the following has gone from POX to PO:
PS2- Yanya Caballista

So, all in all, they didn't add much to the list for the $5 bonus promo. Besides NBA Street 2 and maybe Metroid Prime I doubt too many people here would use any of these (we know the BB Outlaw Golf/Volleyball games weren't accepted any more!).
XTRM b/scr (don't know what this is, unless it is XGRA which we already have listed)
I think that may be Extreme Backyard Soccer...but that would be an oxymoron, wouldn't it?

Thanks for the semi-reliable POX update...so Max Payne 2 (PS2) still seems to be PO, eh? That's GOT to be the easiest title to find at any Blockbuster right now for cheap.

Looks like Max Payne 2 is still a go, though no guarantees from me :D.

Max Payne 2 is still good as of last night.

Did a Nascar preorder with:
Max Payne 2 (PS2) - $1.00
Turok Evolution (PS2) - $0.75
Bad Boys (PS2) - $4
Midway Arcade Treasures 1 (PS2) - $3

Prices listed are for those looking for the $5 deal, pre-bonus. Bad Boys gets a surprising amount - if I wanted EB credit, that wouldn't be a bad filler to get up to 5 titles after a BB visit with coupon.

I do this too . . . not often but sometimes I get something that I really shouldn't but I can't pass it up.

me too.. they had Perfect Dark new at TRU last time i was there for $1, i already have it but this one was "in the box!!!!!"
me too.. they had Perfect Dark new at TRU last time i was there for $1, i already have it but this one was "in the box!!!!!"
LOL - late during the last green tag sale (probably March or April) I saw a huge stack of these at one TRU for $1. Even I had to pass those up at the time though - not having an N64 probably made that easier to do (though I don't have an Xbox and got Turok for it...).

there's nothing wrong with buying just about ANYTHING for a $1 nowadays. If you need confirmation, just start walking out of the store and look at the gumball machines. It's pure junk, and most of it is 50Cents-$1 now.

$1 amounts to about 5 minutes of happiness. If you'll feel like you got a cool deal for that long (the time it takes to purchase it and get to your car) then good for you. The only thing you're out is a KFC Snacker, and THOSE don't even last 5 minutes :)
Bad Boys (PS2) - $4
Midway Arcade Treasures 1 (PS2) - $3
MAT1 for $3? looks like they're BOTH good fodder for making the 5 at EB...I thought they'd only give about $1 for MAT1.

did some more trades at ebgames today
all gamecube

MVP baseball 2005 $15=$20
NFS underground $7=$12
Finding Nemo $4=$9
Luigis mansion $4=$9
Bomberman generations $2=$7
Powerpuff girls $4=$9 (again)

got $66 total in credit i was surprised on MVP and NFS...i figured a little lower but im not complaining...later

Has anyone created/formatted the current POX list to a convenient size yet?

I took the list of all the games from the first post, stuck it in Word in 4 columns and shrunk the font, getting it to 2 pages. I wouldn't want to walk into a store w/ a multi-page document... Convenience is king.

Me too, however i did it the hard way by printing out 10 pages in a small font then cutting them to fit 5 rows on one piece of paper and using the copier to make it neat so now i have 2 pages and space left over to write in any new games

Holy crap, are you guys serious??? That's funny. Just go buy a cheap PDA for about $20. There's no doubt about it being the best way to keep lists. Especially if you're needing to update/change them frequently.

"Carrying pages of paper lists into Blockbuster..."

Dead serious: if you can afford to have/own/play anything newer than N64 games, you have no excuse to not buy a PDA of some sort that can keep the POX lists. (and everything else you'll ever need)

I've had a Casio PV450 for MANY years now, and it's been the perfect PDA for me.
It's simple, 2-AAA batteries last for months, and it's super-cheap on eBay:

Yeah, fine, makes sense, but we're cheapasses and a couple of sheets of paper is even cheaper than that PDA :D. I have a couple of lists - the TRU green tag one and the EB POX one. I bring both to TRU with me.

Plus that new fangled technology scares me :D. I'm a child of the punch-card era.

Ha! Shipping's $10...

http://www.yousendit.com/ owns that site.

Oh, and...

COMPLETELY UNRELATED:

I've traded 9 game in these past 9 days.

Nascar Deal:

Hot Shots Golf 3 - $2
DOA 2: Hardcore - $2
Beyond Good and Evil - $2
Sonic Mega Collection - $7

And Traded in 5:

Chaos Legion - $2
Moto GP 3 - $10
Pikmin - $4
Super Monkey Ball - $4
NBA Ballers - $4

If I was smart I could've made $5 extra by switching Chaos Legion into the Nascar deal.
http://www.yousendit.com/ owns that site.
But they've got that 7-day, 25 DL limit. Yeah, I've seen hundreds of GB worth of porn flow through that site...

okaay, back OT: I think this POX list is a great resource, but honestly, for someone like me who doesn't already have a cache of games to trade-in, it seems like a lot of effort to flip a little credit. Especially since I hit up multiple stores in the past 2 weeks only looking for stuff I wanted to play, and also these fucking gas prices—I spent $30 and got 9 gallons...

Yeah, and it'd probably take me about 10 hours and 5 tech calls to transfer the POX list into "dat der magic machine."

Przym and Metal Gear Solid II are now POX, the EB guy told me they just got a new list so be careful.

I used Max Payne 2, Herdy Gurdy, outlaw golf 2, bad boys and some other ps2 game listed by io as a 6.99 gr game. Preorder Suffering 2

Well, I posted an update that was passed to me a few days ago. It seems that the list has changed since then as well though. Vietgurl seems to have disappeared, so the OP has not been updated with the new info.

Post #172 has the new info I got - there are several changes there, so be sure to add those to the lists in the OP.

The changes we know of far since that post: Pryzm for PS2 is now POX, NFL Street for PS2 is now PO.

Sorry guys, I was in the hospital for a week and just got back Thursday night. Been trying to sort out my classes since I practically missed the entire first week of classes and as a result, I got dropped from most of them. I have the PS2 and XBOX lists as of the 23rd of August and will try to get them posted by sometime tonight (Saturday); I'm not sure when I will get updated lists but these are better than nothing.

Wow, sorry to hear of your troubles . . . no hurry. Maybe you could wait and do it later with an updated list.

We appreciate your help but also want you to keep yourself together too.

Can you get reinstated in your classes?
