Sorry if this is a repost! I did a search and couldn't find anything.

I got a flyer from Hastings today with some upcoming deals. The big one that stood out to me was Pre-Played Crackdown for 360 will be $19.99 next week (5/13-5/19).

Also, it says that CARS 360 (new version I believe) will be $19.99 the following week (5/19-5/26). Nice deal I believe for anyone with kids.

There were some other random deals in the flyer including a $10 off coupon for any game $29.99 and higher and also a coupon for a free energy drink and king size snickers bar with any game rental.

The only other thing that really stood out to me on the flyer was a "select 2 video games for $9.99" the week of 5/19-5/26. They show MGS3 and GUN PS2 in the ad and it says "more games to choose from"

Edit: Added Scans *56K Warning*
Damn, I went to my local Hastings today and they only had one used copy (could have swore they had more the other day). I'll be lucky if I get that one! Unless, they have an influx of used copies this week, I likely won't be able to hook anyone up....sorry guys:cry:
Damn that sucks. Was actually looking forward to playing this soon :(

Are you taling about the one in Webster near Baybrook Mall?

I went to my Hastings and found 4 used copies but didn't realize this deal started on Sunday so I didn't buy them. Right now the game is selling for $47.99 used. I am also planning to use the 5 $2 coupons I got from the Hastings website.

no, I'm down near the coast....have you checked that one yet?

4? Any chance you could mark me down for one when you go back and IF you can get a few extra copies?

Negative, I don't live very close. Just noticed your user info said down I45 south & was curious.

Actually, my location says 45 minutes south not 45 south:D....I'm down in the Lake Jackson area. I stopped by the LJ Hastings again today on my way back from work and the only used copy they had was gone...wonder if an employee snagged it?? Anyway, if anyone wants to hook this OP up, I'd definitely appreciate it;)

I didn't realize that these deals weren't in effect yet! I just told a guy in-store that Crackdown was $19.99 used. At least I dropped "that's what I read at CheapAssGamer.com" so he has the ability to find out the details for himself.

Anyway, can we get a higher-resolution scan? It doesn't say "no copies" and my print-outs look like crap. At least I made the UPC readable with my UPC font. ;)
I'm signed up at PlayHastings.com and they send me a flyer like this every so-often. My Hastings usually has a lot of used copies, so I'll see what I can pick up.

I was class of 98. I moved down to Texas right after I graduated and have lived down here for about 9 years now. I miss the beauty, but not those harsh winters:D
It says you get $2 if you refer me. I'd hate for you to send me there and not give you any credit, so please let me know your details ASAP.

2 things - put the UPC font up on rapidshare for those of us that don't have it?

2nd thing - yeah I don't think I'd mention CAG when trying to score a deal. nor any deal website. actually I think I'd just point at the print-out and wait patiently until they gave me what I want or asked me to leave.

That Hastings BARELY has any used copies of Crackdown if at all. I only saw a new copy there when I went. Of course, you can get more used copies of Gun for 360 than you care to have.

I strongly suspect Atari Anthology is going to be one of the games that's part of "2 for $9.99" deal.

I think the way the referral system works at Playhastings.com, is that I need to send you an invite through E-mail referral, so if you want to PM me your Email address, I'll send you a referral if you haven't already signed up.

Also, I'll try to get a higher res scan up....

Edit: I put a scan of the coupon part up at rapidshare for those that requested it. Hopefully it will print better than the image shack one.
could I buy one, then go to walmart & claim it was defective, & get a new copy w/the beta.
No need, all copies should have the beta, whether or not it is blue or red on the disk.
No need, all copies should have the beta, whether or not it is blue or red on the disk.
wrong, not all copies have the beta, the best way to know if it does or not is to see the 'includes halo 3 beta invite' sticker on the cover

Thats only one new copies though. The sticker is only on the label. It wouldn't be on used copies.

I haven't seen a Hastings since grad from Auburn (the broke days), and travel through most of this bass ackwards state for work. Doubt I'll be anywhere near Auburn area though.

Their store locator seems most of their stores are in the south midwest.

I'm actually thinking of going to the Auburn store today. I've never been, but what the hell.. it'll give me something to do.
Does hasings have a store locator?
Yeah, it's on their page.

Since the games are used, the sticker won't be on the cover. Is there any other way to tell if it has the beta other than the invitation card? The only thing I worry about is if they put an invitation card in a non-beta disc.

I have heard all of them have betas on them and some don't. Anyone know for sure?

Sorry bud, but this ideaology has been confirmed to be untrue from various users at gamefaqs.

So you are 100% sure ALL have the beta?
Wow, $20 for Crackdown would be great, If someone could pick up a copy, i can send payment via PayPal instantly.
Same.

I was able to pick up three copies, one for me, one belongs to 'averageguy', and one is up for grabs, 26 shipped paypal. :]

PM Kayden

and yes all copies have the beta

Wow, I just got back from Hastings. What a waste of time. They had two "used" copies. The guy who got it out of the case for me said, "Yeah, it should ring up $19.99 at the register." I take it to the register, and it rings up $47.99. I tell her it should be $19.99. She looks at the ad, then goes to speak to the manager. She and the manager come back and say, "This deal is for 'previously-played' copies of Crackdown, not 'used' copies." I told them it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Then, they asked, "Well do you still want it...?" I said no, thank you, and I left the store...never to return again.

Any word on what is included in the whole "2 for 9.99" thing? I'm really curious about it.. there may be some real gems in there, since so many missed out on the last Hastings sale that was posted on here.

WTF? Pre-Played IS used. I've run into this problem before. A quick phone call fixes the situation and puts people in their place. I had to call and argue that PV copies should be sold as used. They agreed and I got my way.

Thanks for this. I tried to call, but the office is closed. I will try tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Yeah, Hastings has 3 tiers for whatever reason.

There's new (unopened), used (a game someone traded in) and pre-played/clearance rental (a game they've rented out).

Of course used is always in better condition than pre-played, but for this sale it was pre-played copies only. The price sticker will have a big "PV" on it.

My copy came with no manual or anything else. Just the game and case. :(

I made sure mine had something in the case. Manual and map, but no beta card or 48hr XBL demo. I got 2 copies, 1 for me and 1 for a friend. I opened the one for my friend and there is a huge ring scratch in it. How does Hastings handle exchanges? I tried playing it and it said Dirty Disc Error.

I should have checked myself, but the guy takes it out of the case and up to the regsiter so I never touched it until I paid for it.

To answer your question: they'll exchange it for another copy. I'd take it back ASAP just in case they sell out of pre-played copies.
Did anyone get all the pamphlets (manual, map, 48hr card, halo 3 beta) in their 'Clearance Rental' box?
You don't need a beta card. You put the game in and under the downloads section, it will pop up Halo 3 beta. You may have to wait a minute or two though

I know; I just wanted to have a complete copy because I am a nerd like that...;). lol

Damn, posted the deal and couldn't even get in on it. No luck at my Hastings:cry:

Congrats to those who got in on this and if anyone was able to pick up an extra and will let it go for cost + shipping or something from my tradelist, just shoot me a PM!

Picked up one for me and one for a friend. I had a 3rd copy for another friend but when I got home - I noticed the famous SCRATCH ring. So I just got back from returning it. They did have an USED copy - but we already talked about their preplayed vs used.

Maybe ask to check the disk if you can before you buy so you don't have to return it later.

Cheers and Good luck!

FYI: Optical - the copies I got did have all the inserts... guess I was lucky. :)

Anyone got a copy for me? lol

Damn you!!! LOL.

Anyway, I went back to exchange one of mine that had the scratch ring and the worker made it much harder than it had to be. First they said it was store policy to use their buffer first. Considering that I drove 20 miles to this store, I didn't want to take the chance of it not working again, so I told them I wanted an exchange. They were saying there are no previously played games, which was not the case. I told them that and they got all bitchy, but in the end I got an exchange, but there was only the manual and map in the replacement too... :(
