Sorry if this is a repost! I did a search and couldn't find anything.

I got a flyer from Hastings today with some upcoming deals. The big one that stood out to me was Pre-Played Crackdown for 360 will be $19.99 next week (5/13-5/19).

Also, it says that CARS 360 (new version I believe) will be $19.99 the following week (5/19-5/26). Nice deal I believe for anyone with kids.

There were some other random deals in the flyer including a $10 off coupon for any game $29.99 and higher and also a coupon for a free energy drink and king size snickers bar with any game rental.

The only other thing that really stood out to me on the flyer was a "select 2 video games for $9.99" the week of 5/19-5/26. They show MGS3 and GUN PS2 in the ad and it says "more games to choose from"

Edit: Added Scans *56K Warning*
Did anyone get all the pamphlets (manual, map, 48hr card, halo 3 beta) in their 'Clearance Rental' box?
My Hastings (only one in the entire state of Iowa) had 2 "previously played" copies when I went in at opening this morning.

My copy was complete with all inserts and the disc was surprisingly minty

Well, went to Auburn and they didn't have a single used copy. I was pretty shocked at the selection of used games and DVD's they had.. better than anything in Montgomery at least. I asked a clerk about the "2 for 9.99" deal.. and he brought me a copy of the ad that stated that it begins on the 20th. It wasn't a total bust.. ended up getting Aristocrats, Farce of the Penguins, and Das Boot Director's Cut on the cheap.

One thing I did notice.. they misprice like a mofo. Many games are locked in cases that block visibility of their price tags, but I really wish they had a price scanner set up somewhere. 2 of the DVD's that I bought were mispriced by 50% of their marked prices.. I'm willing most of their Xbox, Gamecube, and PS2 games are much cheaper than what they are marked.
Wow, I just got back from Hastings. What a waste of time. They had two "used" copies. The guy who got it out of the case for me said, "Yeah, it should ring up $19.99 at the register." I take it to the register, and it rings up $47.99. I tell her it should be $19.99. She looks at the ad, then goes to speak to the manager. She and the manager come back and say, "This deal is for 'previously-played' copies of Crackdown, not 'used' copies." I told them it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Then, they asked, "Well do you still want it...?" I said no, thank you, and I left the store...never to return again.
That is a bunch of BS if I ever did see it. Anyone and everyone that shops at Hastings can vouch for the rarity of previously played titles. Most rented titles get converted to Used almost everywhere. I've found one "Preplayed" title in my 10 years of shopping at Hastings. I would try and score another day because most people won't even catch the "Previously played".

Agreed. In fact when I was having a few games price checked, the guy said he'd give me whichever price was cheaper.

Just got back from the only one in GA and didn't see ANY copies of Crackdown used. Nor did I see the ads for the next couple of weeks.

I just got the PlayHastings email circular and they are currently selling Crackdown used for $19.99.

With the price still 54.99 Used at EB and Amazon's $46.99 DotD, I thought it was worth mentioning.

Offer good through 05/31.
2 things - put the UPC font up on rapidshare for those of us that don't have it?

2nd thing - yeah I don't think I'd mention CAG when trying to score a deal. nor any deal website. actually I think I'd just point at the print-out and wait patiently until they gave me what I want or asked me to leave.
The UPC font is a modification I made of an existing font which now requires extensive documentation to use because I have no macro for it (it was made with the intention of making the macro part less needed). I don't know if it's even legal for me to distribute it with my modifications. My modifications are actually just to make it POSSIBLE to type without a macro, but it's still somewhat complicated. ;) I was preparing to do just what you suggest months ago but I ran out of steam while documenting it all and I've been way too busy to get back to work on it.

That said, what program would I use for making my own coupons that AREN'T images? Publisher? Some Adobe Acrobat product? I've outputted OpenOffice.org Writer documents using the font to PDF so I know it works well, but I don't have the flexibility to format it like a coupon.

As for the second thing... I wasn't trying to score the deal and I wasn't telling employees about CAG. I don't own an XBOX 360. I was telling a customer and his kid about the deal when I heard them mention renting that particular game again. I ran into him at Wal-Mart yesterday and he said that it was priced as marked (not $19.99).

Well, it was there exactly a week ago!

I know, I saw it there, then the next time I returned it was gone.

Considering the sale doesn't start until Sunday which it clearly states on the ad on www.gohastings.com under weekly ad. They probably picked them up and put them in the back they do that at the hastings here. They did it with GUN too.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but I checked the hot deals section at PlayHastings.com and it said that the Crackdown deal is good until 5/31. It may be a misprint, but people may want to check again this week in case anymore copies float into stock.

Also, to those who PMed me to send them a PlayHastings.com referral. I've sent them. I don't think the system is working correctly. I'd just go ahead and sign up on your own. Thanks for looking out though!

Edit: I think they meant the Beta Invite is good until the 31st, not the deal.....

I shot by Hastings this morning to grab Cars 360 for $19.99 for my daughters and to see what games were part of the 2 for $9.99 deal. Definitely pretty slim pickins' on the 2 for $9.99 deal. They had GUN and MGS3 as advertised, but they only had Matrix Path of Neo, Atari Anthology, and Strike Force Bowling as the other choices. I did grab GUN and MGS3, but was hoping for some more variety...oh well, pretty good deal either way.

Also, they did have Wiis advertised this week in their flyer and there were quite few people there picking them up. Just thought I'd throw that in for anyone who is still looking for a Wii.
maccabee72 I noticed Cars isn't in the printed add and was wondering if Cars rings up $19.99?
Yes, it was in that original flyer that I put in the OP, and it did ring up $19.99....

Damn.. I was hoping they'd throw alot more into the 2 for $9.99. I guess it's still a possibility that many qualify for the 2 for 9 bucks thing, but it's impossible to know unless you can physically view a list or something or a location has some uber-updating employees (highly unlikely).

When I went last week, I noticed a bunch of stuff on clearance with the last two digits of the price being 00 (example.. Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo priced at $30.00). I really wish I could somehow know if this stuff is priced correctly, or never updated (I would've gotten a price check, but nobody ever came to help me as it was in a glass case).

Anybody else see anything/find anything else out about this 2 for 10 thing?

They actually had a sign up in the case advertising the 2 for $9.99 deal and unfortunately those were the only 5 titles listed on the sign.

Are you sure about that dude because I went by hastings here earlier this morning and they said they got a updated list of 2 for 9.99 games for Ps2 and that it will be awhile until they put out the other titles. They told me to check back around 5:00 but that there were at least 20 titles on the list. And no i diddn't look for Crackdown sorry.

I guess there possibly could be more titles, but they had a sign up in the case and those were the only 5 titles listed on the sign. Let us know though if there are more titles, because I'll definitely go back if there is anything worth getting.

Thanks! I'm wondering if any of the good/rare stuff is on there.. like Ghosthunter, Cubivore, Firefighter, etc. If so.. I may miss Soprano's tonight and have to make a drive.

Ok so I called at 3:00 they said they put out the DVDs and they were just now putting out the games. So I get there and they are no where to be seen. I ask where are the 2 for 9.99 so then the lady takes me to a rack where it says 2 for 24.99 and I showed her the ad and she said these are the ones we have. So I pickup GUN / Mercenaries and was waiting in line to buy it after picking up 3 DVDS I finally get to the front and the guy tells me that these are the wrong games :S turns out that the only games that are 2 for 9.99 for PS2 are the ones mentioned before. Although there are 2 for 9.99 for other systems. I don't have another system so I diddn't bother checking (Sorry) and I did check on Crackdown and they had 0 copies. But the guy definitally had a big list. So I assume when the guy told me there would be 20 or so titles to choose from maybe he meant other systems.
