It's a "No" from me.

I didn't care for the game when I played it on PS3 and ended up trading it in.

I might reconsider the PC version when it hits $5.

I'll be trying to platinum SR3 for however long that takes, given my limited gaming schedule.

It's just a game where you walk around and look at the nice art right?
Hold up, you also
get to listen to a guy say pseudo-random quotes too...
Hmmm, looking through the jojo's thread on GAF, seems the game isn't using GGPO and is input delay based.

This may save uraizen $20.
Saves me money too.

fuck 'em.

This.

I was curious until I saw this. . .

Abandoning traditional gameplay for a pure story-driven experience, Dear Esther fuses it’s beautiful environments with a breathtaking soundtrack to tell a powerful story of love, loss, guilt and redemption.
. . .And I said "fuck that shit."
Does traditional gameplay mean shoot things with guns?
I'm guessing it's basically like Myst without puzzles. Which sounds like the worst thing ever.
Also it's "its", not "it's", jackasses. Indie devs don't need no stinkin' proofreadin'.
You'd think they'd have time to proofread since they have no money to do anything that's actually fun.
Also it's "its", not "it's", jackasses. Indie devs don't need no stinkin' proofreadin'.
Its not that serious, Hank. Its not like they can fucking afford proofreaders. I'm trying to find a way to fuck up "its" but I can't, so fuck you.
I almost want to know what Myst without Puzzles is like.
As someone who actually enjoys Myst a great deal I wouldn't even compare them to each other, Myst is a game, Dear Esther is an art experience, and a rather boring one which is far too long and greatly overstays it's welcome. I thought maybe it would end up being a little like LOST (since you're on an island exploring the mystery of it) which is why I bought it, but I'd suggest just getting the LOST game for 360/PS3/PC (Amazon has the PC version for around $5) over Dear Esther, which isn't the best game, but at least it's a game and isn't going to bore you.
So it's not a game?
Well, all you can do is walk around. And the story isn't even interesting or told in an interesting way.

Usually if Josh expresses any strong feeling of distaste with a game you can assume it is probably fairly bad, Josh usually does a good job of focusing on the fun parts of games in a discussion even when the other parts are awful, if he couldn't find something good to say then you can assume there probably was no good.

He usually does a better job of ignoring whether or not a game has good gameplay.

I usually agree with Josh.

I though I remembered some conversation on how it was even more pretentious than Braid.

You gave FFXIII-2, Ico, and Journey all a higher score than SFxT. I am very skeptical... :whistle2:k

Just wait a year and maybe your opinion on SFxT will change like it did for SSFIV:AE.

Did you do that for Hank?

AE > FFXIII-2, Ico, Journey
give me a chance to review another fighter, ya? not that it will be hard for something to top SFxT...

you've punctured a hole in the universe.
It's not the fact you gave it an average score, it's the fact you gave those other games a higher score than it. You gave FFXIII-2 an 8, Ico a 10, and Journey a 10, whereas SFxT only got a 7. These are what the scores should be:

FFXIII-2: -12/10
Ico: 7/10
Journey: 7/10
SFxT: 15/10
AE: Better than FFXIII-2, Ico, and Journey/10

The googles tell me the Mirror's Edge DLC doesn't work with the Steam version of the game. Does anyone here have any firsthand experience with that?
Hmm, Quantum Conundrum for $8.99 on amazon. Looks like I don't have to wait around for Steam to put it on sale.
I agree with you.

Is the DLC even any good?
I have firsthand experience with EA being a bunch of cocksuckers, does that count?
That sounds about right, when it comes to Steam support they are terrible (obviously that is only getting worse now that they are trying to push people over to Origin). Like Mass Effect 2 DLC should have been a simple affair through Steam, but instead of that they made it through a separate website where you download patchers which install the DLC, all one at a time, and not automated at all.

Walk me through your thought process on comparing games across completely different genres. It's something I didn't think was possible.

AE had better looking ultimates than ICO? Yes, perhaps...

Probably when SF x T AE 2012 hits next year.

Probably.

3S topped it 10 years ago.
