I realize this is within the 50% deal at CC, but I noticed this one specifically after checking out some of their games online. They have Prey for PC discounted to $13, and with their 50% all PC games under $20 deal going, that comes to just $6.50.

It seems some CC's are out of stock of them, so you can check the inventory online for your local CC's before you go, but I just got back from one with Prey and Titan Quest: Immortal Throne for a total of a bit over $17 (which included my tax). For some reason these didn't automatically ring up at 50% off at my store, but if you ask Customer Service they should give you the discount.

Good luck!

I went in today, my CC is really poor about price tags on PC games. Many have no tags, some have outdated tags, some have correct tags. I checked the website before going, made a list and hit it. Grabbed about 12 games. Asked a sales associate to check the prices. Many were different than listed (as I expected). Had a stack of 5 games that were all between $3 and $19.99 (before the discount) that I wanted. Took them up to the register and they rang up as the prices in the system. I said these are all under $20 as in the add and they should be 50% off. Sales person said the prices reflect that. I'm thinking, are you an idiot. I tell her these are not after the 50%, these are the prices that they've been for weeks and why would some be discounting, but others still show up $19.99. The system is not taking the discount yet. She says they're already discounted. I say, I don't have time to argue with you on this becuase I've got to be someowhere in 10 minutes. I am going to try again tomorrow if I'm out, but it drives me crazy when I ave to explain something to them that is screwy in the system. I'm not trying to cheat them on this. I know the prices and they are not being discounted automatically which is what leshrac55 said. So be ready for that if you go.

I went today to check my local CC. The prices are still in the 29.99 range and up for most games (even pretty old ones). Found a copy of Combat Mission anthology marked at 19.99. Take it to cashier and he says the total is 16 something. I know N.Y. tax sucks ass but that ain't right. He tells me original price is 14 bucks plus tax. I say what about the sale and he stares dumbfounded. He asks if its an internet sale and I then proceed to show him the ad which is 2 feet from the cashier on the counter. He then tells me the game is not 19.99 so he can't take off 50%. I tell him to read the ad that clearly states 19.99 and under for pc games. The dork then overrides the price of 14.99 up to 19.99 and gives me the 50% off dropping it to 9.99. By this point my kids are rowdy and my wife needs to go to Target so I just buy it and get the hell out. To make matters worse 2 hoodlummy rude kids harrassed us by the entrance to buy $4.75 candy bars to help out thier basketball team from the school district 3 towns over (damned Uniondale!). Oh well...................

I hate when that happens. Best is when they clearly stole the candy and obviously are not selling it for any team or organization. This got so bad at a local Walgreens that they actually had the nerve to steal the candy and then try to sell it right outside.

I checked my CC today too, and the tags were a mess. RE4 for $50? I don't think it was ever that expensive. Anyone want to share what their hitlists are so I have an idea of what to look for?

hey if anyone is looking for the price of something in particular you can leave a list or PM it to me andI'll check prices at my store tom.

You know, it occurred to me that I might run into that when I went up to the register, but she didn't give me any trouble. Just looked at the ad, took a few minutes to figure out how to give me the discount, and then sold them to me.

And yeah, the prices were a complete mess with most stuff having no price or wrong prices on it (there was still a Prey listed for $50, the one I took had no price tag on it), and it seemed like there was no effort whatsoever to get the 50% off sale into their system (maybe they did it just for the ones listed). Theoretically the prices should be online as well, but I think most of them weren't working when I checked. Something you can do is print out the prices for what's listed online and show that the 50% off isn't being applied (Prey just says $2 off online or something, and the ones that actually are 50% off have a little graphic indicating it).

Also, you should explain to them that the games priced in the $10-$19.99 range can't possible be 50% off yet in the sale because the sale only applies to things that are $19.99 and under, meaning that no game can be more than 9.99 in the sale (although given the stupidity of the person you talked to, this may go right over their head). If they give you even more trouble after that, ask to talk to the manager, and if that still doesn't work, tell them to get CC corporate on the phone to explain the ad to them.

I went through this exact mess yesterday at cc. I had 5 games, took them up to the register and they all rang out at the sticker price. I told the girl that they should all be half off because of the 50% off all 19.99 and under games. It was beyond her intelligence so she went to get some other girl who tried to feed me the "they're already discounted half off" bs. To make a long story short, it took them 3 different people and about 45 minutes of my time to straighten out this VERY SIMPLE thing. It's really sad when you, the customer know more about the sale then the associates working in the store!

From my experience, a lot of the time (not necessarily every single time) the store associates (usually the managers) play dumb and interpret the 'vague' ads their own way so as to keep their store from losing money. It's really annoying and the best ways to deal with it are usually going in when they're not around or dealing with CC corporate (as others have pointed out).

Just ask them how the price can end in a 9 with a 50% off discount. That should shut them up. 50% discount means price has to end in even number.

This isn't necessarily true... they will typically round down a half cent to keep the end in a "9", since everything is priced that way. So 50% $19.99 becomes $9.99, and 50% $12.99 becomes $6.49, which is what my games ended up costing.

It's easier to argue that, at least for the games in the $10-$20 range that they can't POSSIBLY be 50% off yet, because 50% off any game $19.99 and under would automatically be NO GREATER than $9.99.

Many thanks for posting, OP! The PC game section in the CC I went to was totally haphazard, the majority of the games weren't even marked. There were two copies of Prey, both marked $39.99. :\ Of course I brought one up to the counter and it was $6.50.

Anyway, I wanted this game for a long time, thanks again for posting!

Oh snap... you got served!

I didn't find Prey, but I did find a copy of Dark Messiah of M&M in a dump bin that I got for like $5.50 after the discount :)
