Price For A Dreamcast

WrathX999

CAGiversary!
So I'm wanting a Dreamcast..and I looked at the Gamestop and EBGames websites and they have them listed for $14.99.. Of course they're on back order. And then I see N64's up for $25. So, I kind of don't believe that their Dreamcasts are really $14.99. I think its just a typo they did. Does anyone know for sure? I'm planning on going to the actual Gamestop store and getting a Dreamcast if it's actually $14.99. I also saw Dreamcasts on amazon.com for sale for like $28.

I'm on a VERY VERY tight budget at the moment. I've only got like $30 on me.

Yeah I think the website price would also apply to the store in most cases. The only problem is finding a store which still has them in stock. If you end up getting one its well worth it, and you probably can still find used DC games at Blockbuster for less than $5.

I was at a GS the other day and a guy was trying to trade in a Dreamcast and they said they give 15.00 bucks for it. So Im not sure what they would be selling them for.
Try craigslist, I know I probably sound like a broken record but Dallas craigslist usually has like 5 Dreamcasts at any given time.
There is a local store though selling one for 15 with no cords.

I bought a Dreamcast from EB about a year ago for $9.99. I was laughing because the VMU cost more than the system did.

It's been sitting in my closet because I couldn't figure out how to "get" games for it.

Well I bought my Dreamcast off a person on this board and it cost me like $60 with shipping I personaly thing I was ripped off, I got one controller and one VMU and some crappy game.

WOW I am impressed by EB they have cheap stuff! I remember when they had the N64's and PSone's for $19.99 till they were gone, anyways the games for the Dreamcast are not hard to get if you know what I mean.
Just a warning, don't burn games for it. It works, but it fucks up your system.
NO it won't. I have a ton of games that are burnt. And my system is fine/

Actually it will if you birn it at the wrong speed like 18-32 times you can fuck up the system, burn it at the lowest like 6-8 times.

You've been had.

To the OP, if you can find one at EB/Gamestop, it should be around $4 for a used system. I picked one up a week or two ago for this amount. They're clearing out all of their old stuff and it was 75% off of $14.99 (I'm assuming this clearance is still going). Good luck finding one at a store though, it's a rare find at this point.

I bought 3 DC 3 yrs. ago (B2G1) then return 1 (get $20 back) then sell 1 DC to my friend for $25. I endup scored DC for Free plus extra $5 in my pocket. Oh yeah, they did give new Free VMU when you purchase DC (3 new Free VMU for free worth $28 plus taxes) :)

That's a myth, so people won't do it.

My second Dreamcast (because I sold the first one for a GameCube) can't play retail games at all, but guess what kind of games it plays flawlessly?

Thanks for the input. While I was browsing around on amazon.com, I found a GREAT deal. I bought the Dreamcast for $30 shipped, so I did spend all my money. BUT it comes with a VMU and 5 Games. I think that's pretty good.
