Probably an odd question

I'm not even sure if there's a serious outlet for this kind of thing, but I'm abit of a collector when it comes to games, and I've been thinking of looking for some kind of outlet that sells (or gives out, if they're too miniscule for a price) boxes, instruction booklets, and collector's editions, but without the games themselves. I don't have too many games without their original boxes or booklets (with the exception of PC games prior to roughly 2002 when they stopped coming in those grotesquely huge boxes), but there's a number of games I've picked up where I find there's some kind of collectors edition I've missed out on. Yeah, I'm guessing alot of people here don't see the big deal with those things- $10 extra for a goddamn tin box and a documentary of the game's development, but I've got a thing for those kinds of extras.

And really, I seriously neglected the GBA, and I've been picking up alot of games lately on it, but I'm just revolted by the kinds of prices they're going for on amazon and the like. Atleast to get a copy with the box. Games like the Minish Cap, which are barely over 3 years old, go for about $100 "new", which is technically just them coming with the box itself. I don't care remotely if they're new or not, just as long as the box, instruction booklets, whatever are in decent condition.

And on another note, exactly why are GBA games going for these kinds of prices now?

For the GBA games, you can buy DS cases from Nintendo that also hold GBA games. I also remember seeing a thread on the forum somewhere that people were making covers to fit those cases. You could look into that. It's a little bit of work, but I've heard they look pretty good.

As for boxes and manuals for your games, I would check the trade forum here and at digital press.

I wasn't looking for carrying cases at all, I'm simply looking for boxes. And as for that forum, I'll check it out, but have you specifically seen anything being sold like that over there?

Well on the GBA topic i know the system has been discontinued and the production of games stopped as well.

I know, but I see virtually none of this for other last-gen consoles, and likewise do you have the backwards compatibility with the DS.

I wasn't suggesting carrying cases. Those are actual DS cases. I was suggesting those cases and the custom covers as an alternative to boxes if you can't find them all. The covers people have made for those cases are pretty good. Finding boxes to all your GBA games is likely going to be hard.

Digital Press is a pretty good place for classic games and they might be able to give you some more hints on finding old manuals and boxes. It just depends on the system and game. There is a thread in the trading forum there for boxes and manuals you might want to check out. Even if you don't find what you need, it's an interesting site to look through. The galleries of game rooms are neat to look through.

One other site I would suggest you look at is http://gametz.com/. It is a game trading site. I have seen some boxes and manuals for trade over there.

Just one last thing- on those sites you mentioned, what areas should I ask for this on there?

Also, does anybody see this kind of huge rise in prices with DS titles when that system slows down in production? And what would you say is the best outlet for GBA titles in terms of price, both online and offline? I primarily use Amazon, but the prices tend to vary alot over there, and I've never cared much for ebay.
