Most households sub based on value proposition independently so it's not a zero-sum situation. PS+ pricing is a reflection of demand, which is down because the service is a worthless proposition in today's market.

I used $30 in PSN credit. No credit card info on file nor did I have to add one

If it makes it better, you can pay for it and cancel the renewal as soon as you sign up, that what i do in case I forget to find a cheap deal
