PS3 Official Bluetooth Headset

Count me in that category too. My Warhawk Jabra is OK, but I've heard the official Sony is better.
Best deal I've seen is buying it with SOCOM for ~$50, then trading in SOCOM for ~$20 = ~$30 headset. I'd rather do better (and with less hassle).

i got a ps3 bluetooth headset (official sony one) for $20 at walmart!! thought it was a misprint on the shelf tag but when they rung it up it said $20!!

I wonder what the clarity of the Jabra versus the Official Playstation Mic versus the Playstation Eye is. Is there that big of a difference after the horrible online chat codecs?

If you mean the Warhawk Jabra vs PS3 BT headset, night and day. The PS3 headset has a an HQ mode specifically for using on the PS3 and it works great. Also, I find the Jabra hurts my ear after wearing it for a while, the earpiece is huge and has no rubber earpiece. I dunno about the Eye (or the Eyetoy even) clarity, but it's not wireless so it's not an option for me at least. I'm too far from my console and don't really need to deal with another USB hookup on my PS3.

I thought it best to resurrect an old thread rather than start a new one on the same subject.

Anyway, I'm picking up a PS3 in the near future and am looking for a deal on a headset. Can I use any Bluetooth headset or does it have to be the official PS3 ones (whether Sony or the Warhawk Jabra one)?

Any one have any suggestions for deals?

i tried some cheap chinese noname headset once, it didnt want to connect or appear to exist (but it wasnt connecting to a couple phones either so...)

i would hope you could use 'any' headset..

Any "normal" working BT headset works. I've tried official Sony, Jabra, Motorola and Plantronics with no issues. The official Sony is the best one, but if you can't get a deal on one just use any BT you find.
Most BT headsets can be programmed for multiple devices, so if you have one for your cellphone, you can use that same one without losing any settings or reprogramming it back and forth.

I know there were a few sales floating around for the SOCOM Headset Bundle priced at $39.99, but I haven't seen that pop up for like a six months or so lol.

I can help 1 person out. I have a socom bundle sealed for sale. Prefer to open it and just sell the headset to you guys to keep shipping down. If anyone wants it, without the game I can do $30 usd shipped. Paypal payment and don't worry about fees, I pay them if incurred.

I got a coupon in the mail for $5 off PS3 accessories at bestbuy . If you could price match kmarts deal at bestbuy then use the coupon it will come to $25 before tax
