Don;'t know if its a scam, but here goes...

Brand new Playstation 3 Prototype. I am an animator at sony cinematics and have two of only 100 playstation 3's made before they go into mass production schedualed in 2007.I have one in my office and on brand new in the box. Let me tell you there is no other gaming console on the market with the realism this system gives you. It comes with one controler and one game, "warhawk" which I personally worked on producing. My name is Dana and please call my cell phone at (760)815- 9699. I will not respond to e-mails.

This person is located in North County of San Diego, and Sony just announced they did lay off a huge amount of employees, but I could have sworn it was in the TV assembly division. I doubt Sony would allow someone to do this as an existing employee???

it obviously is a fake if he did have any access to it i am pretty sure sony would make her sign a confidentiality agreement and if the person did have it whats the chance she would give her name and phone number?

I'm gonna guess it's a scam. For the price of an Xbox 360 (well, at least a few weeks ago), you get the PS3?
I really doubt it. You could always try and ask for a picture with today's newspaper or something.

Of course it's bullshit that's just some little kid that didn't realize $650 for a ps3 was too little money at this moment , anyone seriously selling this would know anyone would give them a million bucks for it !

i am not sayin its legit but I dont think the games are using bluray discs yet so it could have just a regular dvd drive in there to show off games. I doubt its real though. WHo cares if it isnt there arent any games yet to play on it so whats the point.

its fake decided to call the person guy picked up said he had like 1 million people call him and said his friend must have put out his number. Like I said it was pretty obvious when they say calls only

I called the guy and I had to bite on it. I'm sending cash in a concealed envelope, then he's shipping the system priority. I can't fucking wait to play Warhawk, game looks sweet dude!
Why the hell would a prototype be "mint in box" anyway?
Prototypes (or at least dev kits) come in pretty serious boxes.

I saw we bombard the guys with junk email, serves him right for giving me a hard-on with the thoughts of a New War Hawk game and a PS3 for less that $700. damn, I need a release...Catwoman on ps2, here I come, pun intended.

funny, a friend of mine said his friend (yes a friend of a friend) that works for sony as an animator got a ps3 recently. of course i was a bit skeptical but this thing pops up...interesting...

If I remember correctly, a PS3 'display unit' was stolen from some trade show recently. But it was a display unit (it didn't work nor did it have any of the components). Maybe it is one of those..?

This is obviously just a prank to get people to call that person's phone number. If you can't see that, then... I really don't know what to say.

My uncle was working in Philip Morris back in the day, and they were making a new "Marlboro" train, and on it the plans were to have a media center for every first class seat...
Because of this, he had a prototype unit of the first Playstation, along with Battle Arena Toshinden, and Ridge Racer, at least, a year before its eventual release...
So I mean it is possible that there are prototype units out there, whether this is fake or not, don't go assuming that there's no chance anyone has a prototype, I bet they're out there, and I wouldn't look past someone trying to make a quick few bucks off of it, of course they would charge at least a G or 2...

Everyone is screaming fake, meanwhile kids were taking pictures and posting 360 prototype pictures on the web months before it came out. You dont know, but then again, who cares?

maybe if you read back at page one you will see the proof

My step cousin 3-4 years ago told me that the PS3 was already out in Japan but it cost like $1200 and that's why it wasn't everywhere yet.

Classic. Some friends of my sister's ex pulled a prank similar to this one except they listed a free dune buggy, calls only. Ruined the poor kid's week. Damn funny though.

That's because Microsoft uses too much stupid fucking "viral" advertising.

I'm still convinced that whole thing was yet another viral ad scheme thought up by MS. They only had about, oh, 30 different viral campaigns for the 360, all told. (Exaggerating, but still.)

Ah, the PSX.

What a wonderful failure that was. :applause:

Craigslist is a scammer's paradise. I don't trust half the people that post and respond. There are often nice people I meet there though, and they're often aware of all that goes on too.

As of a couple of weeks ago a ps3 game designer confirmed that a ps3 system doesn't even exist yet. They haven't even produced a functional prototype yet. Most of the components have been made but aren't in there final form.

Sony said they'd send me one in a couple weeks, so I should be able to test it out and tell you guys what I think. I may trade it for a few GBA games after I'm done with it.

even if this was real why would you want a system that has one half produced game.... you would have to wait anyways, might as well do it with the rest of us..

On a side note. Brilliant idea to mess with a friend... or Ex friend..
