Well, I'm not a fanboy.. if I could afford both (and not just economically, I have the money.. but personally, I do have a life) I would definitely buy both, because both systems have some great games. And now, if Microsoft had included bluetooth, and maybe let me upgrade to whatever hard drive I choose, I would probably still be leaning towards the 360. But alas, I can only logically buy one, and I prefer my freedom. Although, I do like the sound of Chase's next gen console combo.
Just one comment on this: upgrading the hard drive on the 360 isn't a necessity.....upgrading it on the PS3 actually IS because all games save data (well many of them) to the hard drive that you will some day have to delete, and we're talking installs on some games of 3-4 gigs each. So while sony was generous in allow ing you to upgrade the HD to whaetver you want, its cuz...you're gonna have to do it. With the 360, you dont even need a HD. Its nice to have, its convenient, but its not *needed*...thats the key.
As for Bluetooth, thats more of a curse on the PS3 than anything else......with the 360 you get a free headset that connects to the controller and works for as long as the controller does, usually 15-20+ hours of gaming using rechargable batteries. If you want a keyboard, you plug in a USB keybaord and an extension cord or you buy that little $30 mini keyboard for the controller.
If you have a PS3, you can use the same USB keyboard....but you're SOL on a mic. You can buy a $30 wired USB mic...that has to connect tot he PS3...OR you can buy a BlueTooth mic. Problem is most of those bluetooth mics that are under $50 bucks don't have long talk-time.....my own mic is only good for using like 3-4 hours before it craps out, and I've gamed for longer than 4 hours on a weekend night many times.
Plus, if you use a universal remote to control your HT system or entertainment center or whatever, you're SOL with the Sony because you need one that has BT enabled (few do)...my $400 Pronto wont do it.
So......again.....it all depends on how you look at it.
I should add that I own a launch 60gig PS3. I've done very little gaming on it...mostly for BD watching and media streaming.....so I'm not a hater on Sony by any stretch ofthe imaginatino, but I do believe as a GAME SYSTEM the PS3 is sub-standard....not because it doesn't have the potential, but because Sony has made it difficult enough for devs to really get power out of the machine that they have to invest alot of time and energy to do it.....and with a lower install base AND alot of those installed systems being used JUSt as BD players, most devs are just going to make a game that is "about as good as the 360 version"......so in that area I feel Sony failed the devs, and by that...they failed us. KZ2 and GT5 and probably the next God of War are the only games on the radar right now for me to buy for that system.
