PSN Gameshare for PSP

I agree that it would be a hassle, but it's a small price to pay for big savings on games. Either that, or the people who joined haven't purchased many games with their account or just don't care. I'd join one of these if I currently wasn't sharing a PSP with my brother. We split the costs but for the most part it's hard for the both of us to agree on games.
 
I'll do it as soon as I eventually get a PSPGo, CFW on my PSP2000 works for now and I've never bought a PSP game on PSN so it will be perfect once I start.

Well, at least in my case, we're using my "main" account, so all my games are there and there's no need for me to switch. We did it this way also because so the others in my group could benefit from the games I already own. Not sure if the other guys will be switching accounts constantly or not though.

dang, that would suck if someone logs in while your playing online and boots you off. A good FAQ from some of you guys who are doing PSP game share would be cool. How bout it OP, wanna update your first post?

So mostly its the same as PS3. you use someone elses account to download games purchased by them. You can split the cost 5 ways.

The main difference is the psp only allows 1 user active at a time. So if you have PSP games on different accounts you have to activate your PSP on that account to play that game. I hadn't bought any games on any other account so I was golden. To copy games from your PS3 to your PSP you also need to be logged into that account. That part kinda sucks. When you activate your PSP you'll notice there are 2 catagories Game and Video/Comic. I actually have my PSP activated for game on the gameshare account and Vido/Comic on my own account so I'm still able to log in, browse the store, and download comics and videos on my PSP using my personal account. I haven't tried it yet but since the account on my PSP is my personal account (even though its activated under the gameshare account) I wonder if I'm able to play an online game such as Metal Gear or Killzone using my own PSN because only 1 person at a time is able to log into the gameshare account at a time so only 1 person able to play online if thats the case. Another thing to remember is most games utilize AdHoc not Infrastructure so to play with anyone not sitting next to you you'll have to utilize the AdHoc party on PS3, in which case you can log in to any account. That way all 5 members could theoretically play the same game online at the same time. So really your only worries are how many accounts you have. Just find a good long term group and stick with them so your not deactivating and reactivating. Still even that's not a problem if your commited to a game and won't be switching accounts every 5 minutes.

A better PSP Gameshare FAQ should be written and I would write one but I don't want it on some random page of the thread so I've been requesting the Thread Starter to write one and edit his first post. Maybe I'll write one and see if hill host it there.
 
Just give it up. It's way too inconvenient to gameshare psp games. What if one person is signed in and playing the game... Oh too bad, nobody else can play the game.
 
Actually unless your switching users a lot its fairly painless. it's almost the same as PS3 accept you don't want too many multiple accounts. Even than it's not too bad and you can all play the games all you want. I just haven't confirmed if you can play the 2 games the psp has online with your own tag. That's the only aspect that MIGHT be inconvenient. But again. The PSP only has a handful of games that utilized infrastructure.

Yea, if there was a good step by step guide or FAQ I would probably be interested in doing a gameshare.

I do have some games I picked up on my PS3 gameshare on my PSP, but do you have to activate the PSP via a USB connection to the PS3 if you want to use content from the other accounts? Can you just log in via the PSP wireless and change accounts or is that not possible.

I ask because usually when I use the PSP I am traveling for work so if I want to play games on multiple accounts it isn't possible to have access to a PS3 to switch accounts.
 
follow any step by step gameshare guide than read my addon for the PSP. Its essentially the same. To change accounts all you have to do is activate the PSP through the "account management" menu either directly with your PSP or connected online with your PS3. In fact I think adding games from an account with your PS3 might actually do it for you but once you have all the games you want on your PSP than all you have to do is activate the account you want through the account managment option. You will be able to do this on the road with any wifi connection.

Well I can't even get the Remote play working correctly with my PSP and PS3. I keep getting an error code when trying to connect with the PSP and of course the code doesn't even show up on the PSP support site.

I did get it to work once, but it was only when I first went into the PS3 menu and selected the remote play option before trying to connect with the PSP. I cannot get the PSP to turn the PS3 on and start he connection.

I can from a private network but I've never been able to over the internet. BTW Remote Play is not required for gameshare, just convenient to watch videos and fool around on your PS3 so I hear your frustration.

I am looking to start a gameshare group if anyone is interested. I have an account set up with LittleBigPlanet and Modnation Racers. I have a friend that will be in the group as well.

We're looking to be a long term group at the moment, so the only way to join would be with that condition. The cost to join would be an equal share of the games purchased on that account presently and what future purchases are made. Right now, I think we have a solid three, potentially four. So the cost would be, with you, at worst, 1/4 the price of LBP, Modnation and then whatever we move forward with.

I looked around, ALOT, for a good FAQ and I didn't find any better information than what we have here on CAG. It is similar in nature to the PS3/PSN gamesharing, which has a quick FAQ here:

I have changed accounts and accessed different games a few times now and its cake. It will probably sound more complicated than it is.

hi im looking to trade some psn games or something for

So if me and my brother each had our own psp but wanted to share an account would we both be able to play games together or would we have to take turns?
 
Play together. You both just have to link the PSP to the same account and you'll be able to download any game purchased on one, free on the other. Although one of you may need to than delete the account and sign in under another one (without activating through the PSN store) to be able to play online simultaneously. Than sign back into the account the games were purchased under anytime you want to download more.You can only activate your PSP on one account at a time or any games previously downloaded on the first account become deactivated. Its really not that hard to shift accounts but you do need Wifi.
