I also found Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Venture Brothers to both be really good shows, but I'm still trying to figure out HOW they ever approved T&EASGJ, when the only good character on the show is Dr. Steve Brule.:whistle2:#

Well, I had one game last night that couldn't run unless I was signed on. Namco Museum Essentials. But if ya want me to go through my psn list to see which ones play and which don't, I'd be happy to give you a list. :lol:

And I couldn't run Netflix either. But, w.e. I was streaming shows from sites anyway.

Personally I think that's slightly worse. Not only are you paying for the service but you're on a roulette wheel as to whether or not you'd be able to get online.
And if this does turn out to be the work of hackers, I highly doubt XBL would be able to deal with a similar attack.
 
At this point I don't even think it's Anon or hackers. I have never seen a hacker be able in this day and age be able to take down a giant corporation's webservice like this and well Anon doesn't have enough people to take down PSN probably. The PSN is probably infrastructured to take on like 5-10 million players at a time.
 
I'm sure Live is structured to take the same amount, but that didn't sto Live from going down during Christmas due to new users. I believe it was in 08 and Live got sued and gave out a free game. So I think Anon could take it down if enough people did it, but I bet it was only a small part of anon that cared.
 
What possible can go wrong that they need a day or two to fix it? Can't they just use the backed up data and let the service continue while they look into the issue?

Venture brothers is my favorite show on TV! And Aqua Teens is fantastic! I agree about Tim and Eric, too. I only suffer through that crap for John C. Reilly.
Also, love that Aqua Teen bit. I love when they have George Lowe on the show. :lol:

About the PSN thing, I would like it if we got something free for this. It's bullshit that I can't play these new games I just bought for online with anyone. Don't think we're going to be getting anything though. :cry:

I wonder if Sony will blame it on the same culprits that Conan said caused his show to be seen in double speed reverse with heavy pixelation after 25 straight minutes of commercials that one time recently?:lol:
 
Tim and Eric grew on me like a malignant tumor. Some of my favorite skits include "twins" and that one episode where Tim and Eric try to explain the universe.

After getting into T&E, Tom goes to the mayor started to be more enjoyable.

I couldn't play Mortal Kombat last night online so I finished the story mode. I want to get on psn to play online and to sync my trophies.:whistle2:#

I've always loved Tom goes to the Mayor, it's probably one of the best original shows I've watched on the Swim.

Tim and Eric have had maybe 1 or 2 eps I've liked (Paul Rudd guest starring episode was great). Other than those, I can't get into it.

Also, I reallllly want to play Portal 2 co-op. :cry:

If you keep trying to sign into Netflix, eventually it will relent and let you watch shows.

My wife found this out a couple weeks ago with her machine that she uses exclusively for netflix. She never agreent to the new TOS, and kept watching shows, it was strange.
 
Weird...I just popped in FIFA 11 for the first time and it prompted me for an update, which it just downloaded and installed. I guess the update servers are different from PSN?

No company in their right mind, even one as incompetent as Sony, would plan to take down their system for ANY reason the same week as THREE AAA titles (Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, SOCOM 4) are hitting the streets. It'd be like, "Hey, everybody, come and spend a lot of money on some games but you won't be able to play them for an indeterminate period of time. Thanks, suckers, er, loyal fans!" A planned outage is preceded by an announcement along the lines of, "We will be offline on this date for 8 hours in the middle of the night. Get some sleep. See you tomorrow."

Yeah, you can always get game updates if PSN is down or if you aren't updating your FW for some strange, random reason.

Although I must say that I haven't been gaming since the outage, though I really should've used this time to finish up some games I started months ago. Mind you, the game saves for those are on my 120gb PS3, which is still up a buddies' house. Time to break out the flash drive tonight and go grab some save files.;)

ive put in maybe 10 hours into demon souls since i had to start from scratch after getting a new copy of the game. ive got enough sp stuff to play until this all gets ironed out but it sucks to not be able to play mp.

Honestly, I think what most people fail to realize is that angry costumers are actually a pain in Sony's ass, and is bad for their business. Just switch perspectives for a second, and imagine yourself wanting something done YOUR way? Now imagine the group you are targeting happening to be a massive corporation. What is the corporations biggest Achilles heel? Their consumers, in otherwords US the players. Without the consumers to make their business keep flowing, then they are evidently skrewed. So if this 'anon' group is really behind this, do you think they will care that its the players they are skrewing over? Of course not, because it benefits them. This is of course if these Anon people are indeed behind this.

Of course I could really care less about PSN, I don't own a PS3 and don't plan on ever getting one. The only reason why I even know about this, is because a friend of mine is bitching to high heaven about it. So out of curiosity, I did a little google research, and VOILA this lovely thing popped up.
 
Great Penny Arcade strip. Sony blows. I wonder how much I'm going to lose on my Portal 2 sale because I had to hold it until next Tuesday, at least, because I couldn't connect to my Steam account?
 
Had a guy trade in his PS3, his brand new Socom, and all his games and accessories over this issue.

Personally, I just want Arcana Heart already, damnit.

People are so impatient. Videogamers are the absolute worst when it comes to this stuff. They demand stuff left and right with insane expectations. If someone seriously traded in their system over this, that person is messed up in the head. All I can keep visioning is nerds raging that they can't play their Call of Dutyz. (I do play Call of Duty and other online games, but it isn't my existence like some people I know).

As a gamer who uses PSN every single day, I am fine with the outage. Surprisingly, there are other things in my life I can do :lol: I guess other people can't say the same? I just don't get where this rage is coming from I guess.

nope i plan on beating it but other games keep popping up so i take a break and then go back to ds. ill try that video out since i know i could use the souls id mostly been collecting them by killing those iron skeleton dealys. im a wanderer.
 
The biggest issue I have with it is I would like to put in the codes that came with my copy of Mortal kombat. Storms and work are keeping me from playing much and all I really want is the single player stuff done now then I will play online.

I find it really odd that they tell us what we should do and yet there the ones living on the computer trying to hack Sony 24/7. I think they should get a life and leave Sony/fans alone. There really not winning anything and they have made there point. They just got butt hurt since someone hacked the ps3 and got sued for it.

After looking at that I should go back to Demon's Souls since the servers are down. I wish I could play the game online without interference from others. That'd be ideal for me.

But I'd probably have to die since I know I'm kinda stuck in-game. I don't have enough Magic to warp out of an area in the second mine portion and I'm kinda moving down some wooden planks.

If you mean the free roam, then yeah it was kind of lame. They made the game world so dead in that on the vanilla RDR. Undead Nightmare on the other hand comes with the poker game you can play online with other players, so that's something, plus the game world doesn't seem quite as devoid of NPC's as the original.
