PSN has returned. What freebie games are you getting?
i have no backlog, so im really REALLY bored.
what about psn games? ive only beaten maybe 1 or 2 of the psn games ive bought that doesnt include the stuff they put up for plus. or you could do some trophy runs.

only psn game i have that i didnt beat was deathspank 2 and thats cuz i got the dumb rudolph glitch and dont feel like playing through the entire game again.

there really arent any games i wanna play to plat. i could do the ole "rent a disney game" for a plat, but i really dont like doing that.
Because on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 the official blog posted: We have a clear path to have PlayStation Network and Qriocity systems back online, and expect to restore some services within a week.

It's been one week since then already and now they're saying it'll be another week. Or more. Who knows? Everything won't be back up until the end of May. Maybe.

It hasn't been too bad for me because I've been away on four-day weekends the past two weeks, but as I head home tonight, the fact that after nearly TWO fuckING WEEKS that I will still be unable to link my Portal 2 to Steam so I can get my PC copy and sell the damn PS3 disc before it loses all its resale value makes me rather cross.
THAT is what has me ticked off. I want to activate my PC copy and can't.

Dude, it's $40 everywhere now, no way it's held any trade-in value.

Not that I have any sympathy for someone trying to simply exploit the PS3-Steam compatibility to get a cheap PC copy.

whats the deal with portal 2 and mk dropping in price so quick? theyve been out maybe 1 or 2 weeks and theyre already down to 40 in alot of places.

I bought mk on release day if I knew psn would have been down and it would have been 40 already I would have waited. It is very odd since both are big games.
It is odd, especially since the game that pretty much is all about the online (Socom 4) is still $60.

Odd
Seriously, I feel sorry for the people that bought Socom 4 on release. I know it has a campaign, but as you said its more about the online.

Exploit? How the hell are people exploiting sony by paying them money for what they offered. Did they offer a free pc version by mistake? Did all the people that bought the game use some kind of mind trick to get a free pc copy? Yeah I'm sure sony was "exploited" by all the people that gave them money and didn't buy the game on steam or xbox. Never mind the fact it would have been cheaper to buy the steam version.

Exploitation is getting people to buy your product and then not delivering on the product.

i lost respect for sony.... how can they just leave us in the dark like this? we dont know a date to exspect the network to be up and running man sony sucks
No, seriously, fuck you. The cake is not a lie, I just had a piece!

You couldn't have had a piece, because

THEY DON'T KNOW EITHER.

If they gave you a date and missed it how would you feel? Exactly.

If whoknows doesn't post again we know the cake was red velvet and he's dead.

Here's a ticket, now stand in that group...right over there.

I thought maybe they dropped price due to the PSN outage, since the network is down, people may not buy the games right now. Its the best way to keep sales up since the games don't have any of their online features. If they don't sale now, they could risk getting lost in the shuffle of later releases.
whats the deal with portal 2 and mk dropping in price so quick? theyve been out maybe 1 or 2 weeks and theyre already down to 40 in alot of places.
Sales and price drops are two different things.

Retailers are aggressively pushing these two games for whatever reasons, but I don't believe that they're officially $40 forever.
I had a dream last night that PSN was back up...and then it wasn't. I think I'm going through withdrawals. T_T
Lol. that is serious. I haven't been on forums for several years and PSN goes down and I'm frequent CAG forums... What a coincident aye? :p

I'm starting to get sad. I want to play Arcana Heart 3 online. Or even Shitty Mortal Kombat online. At least netflix still works and I can sell shit to have something to do.

In Houston, TX, there are tons of billboards for Portal 2 all over the city. It's the first time I've ever seen so much advertisement for a video game, ever. It's my first time EVER seeing a video game on a billboard.

I believe this is all a set-up to get us to play Portal 2.

In Chicago, there were alot of billboards with Portal 2 as well as a ton of buses advertising for it before it was released.

I want my PC copy so I can play coop online with my son.
Wasn't it suppose to be like $30 for a downloadable copy? Since PS3 games are usually region free and as such you can play other region's games on a US PS3, why not import a UK version when it comes out ON DISC in June?

At least in that way you get a physical copy so that if by some odd happenstance PSN goes kablooie again AND your digital copy is corrupted somehow, then you'll still be able to play it.

Zavvi.com from the UK has it for around $30 US for pre-order right now:

Hey now. Do not besmirch MK. I gotta say that minus the cpu controlled characters spamming special moves(like I do:razz:) the game is actually pretty damn good.

I'm glad I bought it around launch.

Oh and Paco, I may be considering getting away from the Brazilian internet, so I may challenge you to Mortal Kombat sometime.
MK is a good game, but the online fucking sucks. 1-2 seconds of input lag, no blocking on reaction, X-rays doing stupid amounts of damage and so forth.

And if you wish to challenge me then i shall accept. Just remember that JOHNNY CAGE loves you all.

I was kinda shocked the first time I played as Cage in this game and he did the crotch punch on the chicks in the game now too. I remember in the prior games he would do the split to do the punch and that was it.

But the convoluted inputs to do some of the special moves now are ridiculous.

Great, looks like someone tried to hack into my Gmail account. (Doubt it was a malware, because i literally just did a full comp scan the other day while i was defragging some stuff).

Logged in and it said there was suspicious activity, waiting on it to send the damn verification pin to my phone

Someone was prolly trying brute force it and it auto detected it. I've had this happen to me twice in the past. I don't know why they bother, they ain't getting in.

Looks like they got in somehow. Saw a wierd email sent to the 10 people i had made contacts with. A crapload of coding and a wierd looking link.

No freaking idea how they got in, changed the password a day or two after PSN went down. Looks like i should change a few other PW's just for safety

my gmail was hacked too, but it's not a PSN linked account. If you check out the boards at gmail/google there's tons of people having this problem all the time. It has nothing to do with any of your PC systems being hacked either, they're getting in through other methods. I'd be surprised if this is PS3 related

At the bottom of your gmail page there's a link to the latest IP addresses that accessed the account (called "Last account activity"). You can see where they came from. My hackers accessed through a mobile in Poland.

edit: also, the emails sent to all my contacts had an address that ended with @135,com or something like that
It was supposedly going to be up today, but I believe them shutting down the SOE servers delayed that.
