(In all seriousness, I recommend trying the PS3 version to see if your first two complains are Vita-version problems. I feel like the game only gets better after Ch. 1, so stick with it to the end.)
All versions of TWD S1 have issues. The Telltale engine is not well-optimized at all. Even on PC this exists to some extent, though it's not near as bad.

Supposedly the XB1/PS4 engine fixes this, but we'll see.

WTF does one division have to do with anything?

The company as a whole matters. So what, the gaming division is doing great but they are losing money on everything else. Still not good for Sony as a company. You think that just because Sony gaming makes money and the company as a whole is shit and loses money they will stay in business?

They should just sell all the crap, the tv business, phone business, etc and keep the gaming and the movie business (if they still own the movie business?)
Dummy, this is why you don't try to come in toward the middle/end of something and act like you know what you're talking about. My stance for the longest time has been that MS and Sony should spin off their gaming divisions into separate companies in order to let them thrive. We're comparing gaming companies here, so it makes sense to compare gaming divisions only. You really can't see that? If you want to bring companies as a whole, then comparing the big three, Sony is still functioning better than Nintendo. The reason we compare gaming divisions only, is because that's pretty much all Nintendo has.

If we Sony had some ridiculous profits from their TV division, you would make the argument that it's unfair to include that because Nintendo doesn't make TVs. That's how we got into the mess originally, because someone said "Well you can't really compare them because Sony and Microsoft have other products and divisions aside from gaming."

So again, my stance is that Microsoft and Sony should spin off their gaming areas into separate entities. Nintendo should stop making consoles and focus on handhelds and/or licensing their properties out.

Bionic Commando is flawed but fun, when it clicks the swing mechanic is an absolute joy. In the early game some of the artificial boundaries (radioactive walls of death in parts of the city) are annoying because you can wander into them and die pretty easily before you get back out and some of the decisions they made like disabling ability to get trophies when replaying a level from stage select (which means you have to get all the collectables the first time through) are pretty boneheaded. I beat normal and traded it away years ago, but decided to pick it up again when I found one copy at gamestop for $3 last week. It's also a disc only game (not available on PSN) so if you ever wanted to play it someday it might be harder to find a copy.

Which season you at now?
Yeah like I said I can't get much for those 2 games, so I'll probably just keep them just in case I ever get the urge to play them.

I'm still on Season 1, and I just watched my favorite episode so far (episode 10). My wife keeps telling me that it gets way better than what I've watched so far.

Just to throw this out there: Bionic Commando is on Steam and goes pretty cheap there as well if anybody who wants to play and games on PC is interested. I grabbed that and ReArmed in the Summer sale but haven't gotten to either yet.

You're not the only one who liked Prince of Persia with Nolan North most. Sands of Time is a close second, and I haven't played the other two in the HD trilogy set.
I really liked this game as well. I don't know if it's my favorite PoP game ever as I haven't put much thought into it, but I don't think it would have been hated on as much if it wasn't called Prince of Persia.

guys. I really, really don't like playing the walking dead. I'm surprised at how loathesome it is for me. if you don't want to read further negativity about the game, skip the spoiler. also, it probably will contain spoilers.

1. runs like ass. might be a vita version problem. so fuck ing janky.

2. looks like ass. I know there's an art style thing going here, but it really looks terrible. I thought it would be used to give the characters more visual emotion/character, but it just looks bad and it should feel bad and the characters act lifeless.

3. all the joylessness of searching for shit in adventure games without the fun. I've played most of the older lucasarts/sierra catalog, I'm not a complete stranger to adventure games. but so far (and I am still on the first chapter) it feels like the 'game' part of it was forced on a group of developers who just wanted to tell a story.

4. too many characters. yeah, I said it. and too much dialog. if I wanted to yammer with npcs I'd be playing a jrpg. I don't know who is who or why I should care. except for clementine. I know who that is.

5. sometimes the dialog choices don't reflect my intentions, like at one point on the farm I selected something I thought was honest and it came out all subversive. or there wasn't an option to be more caring about clementine going to the bathroom in the pharmacy for no good reason.

the story seems fine so far and I'm going to stick with it since so many folks love it, but I don't have high hopes for the base mechanisms of the game shaping up after chapter 1.
Yeah, I remember chapter 1 being pretty weak from both a gameplay and story perspective. It gets better. As time goes on the adventure game stuff becomes almost non existent and you spend the bulk of your time making dialogue choices and doing QTE's. Which is for the better since the story is surprisingly good (with good writing and interesting twists). The game of the year awards it got was definitely a stretch, but it was a fun ride.

Assuming you're watching the Christopher Eccleston season (he was cool in Thor: The Dark World), just you wait until you get to David Tennant (2-4) and Matt Smith (5-7) in the later seasons.

Combat sucks, but if you can look past that it's a great game. I loved it, Warrior Within was ok, and I thought The Two Thrones combined the best parts of the first two. I think Two Thrones was my favorite overall, with Sands of Time running a very close second.

I personally liked Sands of Time the best of the 3. The metacritic (both pro and user review) averages seem to agree with that as well.

I actually liked the remake one without a subtitle the best, but I think I might be the only one. The scores for it were lower than all 3 of the others. I thought it had the most interesting combat style, and I was not as bothered by Nolan North using his normal accent for the Prince character as others seemed to be.

Some of the set pieces will get better, so the platforming will be even better, but the combat remains the same. Back when it released, it was a brilliant game, but it hasn't aged as well. I think I will still try to get through the HD version one day, but for me, it was a game best left to my memory.
Yeah, I was thinking it was probably amazing 8 or 9 years ago. It's still a solid game, but it hasn't grabbed me yet. I think I'm only about 10% in. I just activated the castle's defense system. I'll play it some more today. It looks like I'll have to play through it more than once if I want all the trophies.

I liked Eccleston a lot. It's taking a long time to get much out of David Tennant's incarnation. It doesn't help that his relationship with Rose wasn't all that appealing, and neither was his relationship with the next companion either. I just started his third season recently, though, and the new companion is a lot more forceful instead of just going along with his shit and I like that.

Overall I've ended up liking Tennant well enough, but Eccleston was better IMO.

I played the first one a bit when it first came out, but only finished it and the rest of the series for the first time with the HD collection and really enjoyed it, for what it's worth.

I've got PoP and the HD collection. I've never played any of them, but with focusing on my physical backlog I'll be getting to them soon. Kinda bummed about the lack of subtitles, tbh, since I'm a huge fan of that in games.

I do have to say that the PS3 versions look pretty good for HD ports. I've been looking forward to playing them, so hopefully the gameplay isn't too bad.

Ya, I didn't really like him very much until season 4 and beyond.

Congrats! I still recommend notifying the developers if you haven't already, though, in case this isn't an isolated issue and it could be fixable with a patch.
Yeah, sent them a message earlier just in case. I'm leaning towards its a PSN thing though, seems to have happened to a few other people but with different games.

Did you set your all time best 40 yard dash speed between your bed and your Playstation this morning? :)
I think I might have set a personal record for fastest trophy sync hahaha.

Ditto on this. It took me forever to warm up to his run (I didn't really care for his version of the doctor until he was paired with Donna). I ended up liking Tennant overall, but I definitely prefer Chris Eccleston and even Matt Smith to David's run.

Your first issue is exactly why I havent played any of these TT games. When we got Sam and Max for free or on discount a long time ago I was excited to try it. Then the fucking game ran at about 5 frames per second, while looking like shit and having long load times. I quit that shit in about 30 minutes. No game that is nowhere near the technical capabilities of the machine it plays on should run so shitty. Then I played the first episode of Back to the future and it was still pretty bad but I got through it somehow. I havent tried any other TT games because it appears all their games have these issues. I refuse to play them no matter how good the story is.

You did download Jurassic Park though...

I just recently tried to watch Arrow on Netflix but abandoned ship after 9 episodes (which is more than fair). That CW feel is exactly why. The dialogue and characters are just so annoying. And am I supposed to take that hot chick seriously as some sort of super lawyer? Or that ditsy looking blonde who is able to dig up information on everybody?

If you really are on the mood for some DC goodness, check out some the animated movies they've put out. The absolute best option would be to watch the whole animated continuity they did awhile back: Batman The Animated Series, Superman The Animated Series. Batman Beyond, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited. There is some real quality stuff in there. I think a lot of them were on Netflix at some point, but I don't know about now.
LoL @ 9 episodes. I feel you. The female leads irritate me as well. And the one-note daddy detective. I'm going to stick with it for rest of the season, though. I'm hoping that it's only front-loaded with "this is green arrow; see green arrow jump" and eventually assumes the audience has some sense at some point. The origin sub-plot on the island is actually pretty decent.

Gah. Don't remind me of all the greatness that once existed on Netflix. I started re-watching Justice League but as far as the rest of the 90s DC and Marvel catalog? It's been missing for well over a year. Was pretty pissed about it but managed to get through most of X-Men, at least.

@Simmias I have no idea who 'LL' is.

Hipster confirmed.

I can not disagree with this more. For me, the PS3 version was much more janky. Plus, the touch controls on Vita for the QTEs and shooting made it play a lot better than the craptastic DS3 controls. Regardless, you have to go into it thinking of it as an interactive movie because as a game, it really sucks.

Oh no... if you are a completionist and you are not liking the first game, do yourself a favor and do not start the other 2. I think each needs 3 play throughs to get all the trophies. Each has a finish without dying trophy that is also a huge PITA as well. At least one of them has a ton of backtracking which makes the 3 play throughs seem even longer. If you can go into it with a plan to just play through it to the end, I think they are worth a go. Going for the plat is really no fun at all.

Quentin gets better later on, although it takes forever for him to get to that point.

LL is Laurel Lance.

I like horror, but just randomly popping up and starting to post horror gifs like he's this "new person" or something is retarded. I mean really? Yeah, let's see everyone just try posting random gifs all day of whatever you want. That wont get old at all.

Alright, then. I didn't make that post based on personal experience (I played TWD S1 on 360), but now I'm even more relieved I skipped replaying it on PS3 in the hopes of playing it on PS4 with a hopefully-refined engine.

 Shit. This sounds like my worst nightmare. I am a completionist.

And I didn't mean to come across as not liking Sands of Time. I'm having fun with it, but I'm not in love with it yet. My most recent games played were Uncharted and Red Dead Redemption, so it has a lot to live up to.

So pete left me to get my ass kicked all by myself in TLoU this morning.  Thanks pete.

Fortunately, after many ass-whoopings, CAiNiAC came in and saved the day.  Sort of.  He kicked ass, I sucked ass.  Same thing, right?

didn't you read right above you? I got a headset! so cheer up buttercup, you'll be hearing my sexy morning wake up voice tomorrow while I try to hit somebody with a nail sticking out of a board (and instead get hit from behind with a molotov cocktail or some other crap).

didn't even see you get on, was probably too mesmerized by shard hunting. fuck those shards.

edit - haha, I guess you did see it.

Out of curiosity, what happened to the little earbud headset that came with your PS4?

Anyways, I'm happy and a little surprised with Sony's financial results, I didn't think the company as a whole would report a net income for this quarter.

And PS3/PS4 outsold X360/X1 by a 3:1 margin, that's pretty impressive (3.5 million units vs. 1.1 million units for the quarter).

Xbone is basically dead outside of the US based on those numbers, Europe is really where Sony is cleaning up.

I need more time. I want to start the single player part of batman: ao so I can get the dlc trophies unpatched before we meet up for the mp trophies. and I want to finish the infamous shard hunt clusterfuck and at least my good run through. and I want to play the last of us single and multiplayer. and I need to get back to abe's oddysee. and I need to play more montezuma arena because it's awesome.

Why play unpatched? Did the patches mess up some of the trophies?

Apparently I waited too long to play 3D Dot Game Heroes. All of the best character sites (including the official website) have gone the way of the Dodo, I've only been able to find pockets of custom characters.

Was the 360 dead in Europe? I know it killed in the US and sucked balls in Japan, but I don't really know what the EU was like.

Sony's game division had an operating profit of about $41.7 million. Right on par with Nintendo.

Oh no, that's right, Nintendo lost almost 1.5 times that amount. Stupid me.
I still don't know what you're attempting to prove. These numbers come as a shock to no one. And yet Sony still projects losses for the year while Nintendo ...does not. :) Let's hope they both can do well over the holiday, k? Maybe even see some aggressive price cuts from Nintendo.

I only take issue with you saying Nintendo will get out of hardware. That's it. I don't dispute sales data, lol. But your conjecture either shows a limited understanding of how they operate or... you are trolling.

I just noticed that MGS: Peace Walker has an online trophy that's made easier by playing missions with someone else via co-op. Would anyone be interested in helping me out with that? I don't know when I'd get to PW since I plan on taking a short break from MGS after Snake Eater, so it would be a "whenever" timeframe. I figured I'd ask now before I forget.

My original intention was to bite my lip and watch the whole season since I heard towards the end is when it gets good, and then the second season is supposed to be a huge improvement. But there's 24 fucking episodes. That's a lot of shit to wade through to get to the good stuff. And I'm right there with you on the female characters. The wise cracking, but troubled sister. The lawyer lady and her friend who frequently have girl talk. Bleck.

Bummer about the DCAU shows being pulled from Netflix. I bought all of the series' on DVD awhile back (even got the awsesome complete series Batman set that ended up selling for like $250 at one point.. although I just looked it up and now it can be had for $100ish.. the market for this stuff is weird). It's about time for a rewatch, I think.
