I've only played about half but:
- god of war 3 if you want something fairly straight forward and fun. I imagine you know what to expect.
- 3d dot game heroes if you're willing to put some time in and the art style intrigues you
- red dead is time consuming too but is essentially an aesthetic piece + gta on horses. I loved it, but not everyone would.
- brutal legend, as much as I want to like it, you will probably walk away unsatisfied. It's worth playing if you like rts at all or just because it's such an odd game, but probably one that can wait.
- mass effect 1 literally bored me to tears and made me question my self worth
- portal 2 coop is the best thing you could do IF IT fuck ING WORKED
- Yeah got all the GoW plats except 3 & Ascension, played the first handful of levels

- ME I only finished the first chapter. I remember all the long cut-scenes getting long, but I was sleepy when I started it so that didn't help.

- Did I read in hear that Portal 2 co-op works if one dude is on PC and the other is on PS3? Not that that helps any of you in here, but the buddy I've played some of the co-op with has used PC

A simple little thing nearly ruin my enjoyment of Red Dead. To manually target you press and hold a button, but they stupidly made use of the pressure sensitive nature of the trigger rather that making it pressed or not pressed to determine whether you manually target. No matter how hardly depressed the trigger is, as soon as you let up just a little bit (even if the button is still depressed) you will exit manual targeting. Drove me batty at times.

Start 3D Dot Heroes and share my pain at least I would be able to help you if you get stuck. It was pretty enjoyable up until the fire temple (7th temple) started frustrating me. Or if you want to play through the game with characters created by other people you probably don't want to wait too long, as the two big character storage web sties closed and you can only find them in pockets across the internet.
I've probably cleared the first two or three dungeons in 3D Dot Game Heroes. Loved how it looked the moment I saw it. Got stuck I think in the desert temple? maybe? But I could use a Zelda-esque fix. But your horror story is scary.

Infamous 2 or God of War 3 since those are 2 of my favorite games. Red Dead is right up there too. The rest I havent played or played little of them. Brutal Legend was not fun to me even though others liked it. It was $5 bargain bin material at Best Buy so long I think they finally had to dump them in the landfill with ET.
I got Brutal from the $5 BB bin as well, so I'm not stressing too much about getting it taken care of. Probably halfway through inFamous 2 on my first good run I think.

Or maybe I just keep plugging on Velocity 2x so I can get the plat before any of you even play the game so I can point and laugh. Or something less pretentious.

Decisions, decisions....

Kingdom Hearts - fuck no. The game is a mess, both in story and gameplay. Unbelievably overrated.

If you haven't started the Mass Effect series yet, start with 1 and play through it. Probably in my top 5 of favorite game series all-time.

If you have played 2 and/or 3 before, you may be ok skipping it. I played it after 2 and still loved it, but if you don't love Mass Effect as much as I do you may not enjoy it that much. It's a little difficult to go back to after 2 and 3 gameplay-wise.
I have the whole trilogy on disc, and haven't played any of them before. I keep hearing it's the shitdiggidy, but the first chapter didn't completely grab me. Again, though, I was fucking tired when I started. Want to give it a shot. But the time commitment makes me apprehensive.

Look at gator showing off. Pretty sure most of us don't get 95% of the trophies on 328 games.
Just trying to tell him that he doesn't need to worry so much about that now if he continues to play. When you have a Cars game as your 100th plat, it should be pretty obvious you are not trying to show it off :)

In TLOU, I'm in the section where
Ellie tells all her jokes and I'm fighting clickers in the basement of a hotel I think.  And it just flooded?  And I just turned on a generator?  Is that right?
Not sure how deep I am into that.  Most likely won't get plat on that as I know I've missed some shit and I'm not terribly good at it so a harder play through sounds torturous.  But if I'm close to the end I might hop on that train so that I can finish it before I get story spoiled.

So many games I played a little bit of but got distracted by other shineys for whatever reason. And you assholes keep talking about them. Help a brother choose?

Mass Effect 1
Kingdom Hearts
God of War 3
inFamous 2
3D Dot Game Heroes
Brutal Legend
Diablo 3
TLOU
Red Dead

EDIT: or Portal 2 co-op if any of y'all want to be my willing partner.
Out of those, I recommend Mass Effect, Red Dead, and TLOU. Mass Effect 1 is still one of my favorite games ever as it does such a good job with the universe. Graphics are dated now but they still look good to me. Only thing that's a pain is the inventory management. The mako side quests are a little dull but you can skip most of them, main story takes maybe 15 hours at most.

Red Dead is fun except for the middle part dragging too long, and TLOU is good as well but you might as well go for the PS4 version if you can.

My favorite game on there is RDR. Infamous 2 is way high up on the list as well. God of War 3 was one of my favorites in that series as well. Brutal Legend was fun until it turned into a RTS game half way through. In case you didn't know, you can't plat that one anymore.
ok, I'll bite - why not? servers appear to still be up and someone on psnp got one as recently as 3 days ago.

You're maybe...I dunno, at the halfway point? I still think you should finish it.

That was your son playing cars though right? Wait, you dont have all your kids playing games for you? Oh thats right, someone else with a name that starts with V holds that honor. And I think the V stands for what he sees a lot of at his "job".

They're actually not all that long if you're not a completist. As long as you're not trying to do every little thing there is to do, you can easily finish all three in under 25 hours a piece. Probably 20 or less with 1.

I thought the servers were down. It appears I was wrong. My apologies.
I don't think you're totally wrong - something's maybe down, but apparently it's still boostable anyways? I dunno, the trophy guide and other info is hazy.

Edit - also, fuck you for trying to admit that you were wrong about something. that's not how MY internet works! you stand yer damn ground until everyone's too exhausted to type!

My problem is that when someone gives me a side quest, I feel this uncontrollable need to go finished that before I do anything else. I can't leave these poor people/aliens/robots hanging like that! I would have a real hard time just doing main quests.

Portal 2 ps3 is still not working co op? damn

and iv got all the brutal legend online trophies, just have that damn 100% glitch, so I have to sit down and try to redo it all someday...

Unfortunately, no, it was all me. I think my oldest has earned 2 trophies on my card playing solo (2 LBP2 DLC trophies where I do not even own the DLC). He has helped me earn more than a few in co-op.

Victory not Vengeance

 VNV nation

Velociraptor

Velocity

haha if you put Velo214 in youtube, it's a video in blackops I uploaded of my Sam turret getting the final kill cam when the enemy team called in a uav. the idiot stood between a mountain and my anti air missile and it blew him up. epic.

I tried to do most of the side stuff, and IIRC my playtime on 1 was 28 hours, 2 was like 37 I think. Don't remember what my playtime in 3 was.

I get defensive because it's hypocritical. And unwarranted, especially when I've *repeatedly* made an effort to get along with him. The only thing funny about the "joke" is that it's the very thing he continues to accuse of me doing, yet cannot provide an example of.

So from what I can gather, the punk kid who got shot, was basically assaulting the cop and trying to get his gun from him, cop got off a shot in his cruiser, guys run off, he yells stop and then fires.

Momma was like why didnt taze him etc. Umm you think if he would have actually got the cops gun he would have just knocked the cop out and NOT killed him?

Basically kid was dead moment he decided to try and get that cops gun. Either he got gun shot cop, then got shot the hell up when other cops found him, or he got shot like he did. Either way punk kid was dead. He's dead because of his dumb decision to assault a cop.

If what I read was accurate.
I don't know much about what happened, but I do know you can never, ever believe early reports of what happened. Often the 'official' story is so far off from reality (usually in the cops favor, as part of early PR management) it should be illegal.

I don't really know much about it either, but if he really shot the kid 9 times, that's crazy.

After looking at the video and hearing more about how dirt track cars handle etc I have a different view of the Stewart incident. He may still be at fault but the kid was an idiot for walking out there and I can see how it may have been hard to miss the kid. fuck ing sucks for everyone involved no doubt.

Same for those people in St Louis. Awful. For all involved, the family that lost their son, the police and the idiots looting because they think they have an excuse.
I totally agree. Guy foolishly forgot about the big metal moving object between him and Tony.

He could say I was trying to swerve to avoid him. But then you could come back and say, why weren't you in the inside lane?? You were headed up toward him, not avoiding him.

Bout half way. If never going to get plat, then drop the difficulty level if it will let you and finish the game. At the end, you may have a new found affinity for it and want to go for plat. Or you never touch it again. But it will at least help you decide if you want the second one when it comes out.

.

Yeah I'm getting a shit ton of gold too, but like 1 rune each time. I'm pretty close to maxing out my manor though.
4th is no harder than the 3rd lol. Yeah, I have the downstrike, death defy, and some critical skills left for max. I picked up this compass, and realized I have never actually had it and was in a spot to be like "Ok, let's find this shit" so I have no clue what I'm looking for.

Alright, get the pitchforks ready. I think I was around the same part in TLOU when I decided to put the difficulty on easy and just finish the damn thing. It has a really bad case of good story with lots of shitty game play in between. Especially after Uncharted 2 and 3, I was extremely disappointed by the game play in TLOU

I just had a compass too. Are we playing the same exact games? Weird. My compass led me to a fucking jukebox. Because that's what I wanted.

This is what I am fully expecting to do once I play it next year on PS4. I dont like stealth gameplay much to begin with and will probably just want to see the story. So I will probably set it on easy too. Which is also why I will wait till the game is cheap.

Can you elaborate? Its not meant to be a run and gun Nathan Drake game. You strategically fight for every inch and have to know when to retreat and move in a different way, all the while conserving resources.

Answer correctly, thoughtfully, and I will extinguish my torch.

What's a guy got to do to get banned around here?

The one way sexual tension you like to believe there is between you too is a bit much. She has said your comments are unwelcome, and yet you persist.
Calm down dude. She still posts here, so I'm sure it doesn't bother her too bad. If it did she'd leave. She knows snakey's joking around.

Well in part was a problem of expectation. I think I was expecting something a little closer to Uncharted. That being said, I hated everything about combat encounters in Uncharted as well. Something about the way ND handles aiming feels really weird and unnatural to me.

Other than that, the "survival" stuff felt really tacked on and ultimately unnecessary in my opinion. I got tired of searching through houses to find whatever the hell I needed to make a couple of items that would help me survive to the next time I could search new houses. Another reason I switched to easy. Almost no need to craft anything for survival on easy.

I got stuck early on in one section. The thing is it forced me to approach it differently. I felt like the more you play the better you get at moving around and fighting. Remember you can always throw bottles or bricks to make noise in a different area then where you want to go.
