Ray's the Dead is asking for $30K on Kickstarter.  Seems kinda late in their development cycle to be asking for more money.  Not sure that's the best sign...

Anyways, if you want, the early bird tier is $12 for a copy of the game, which is $8 less then what it was cost at release.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ragtag/rays-the-dead-0

Also they're estimating the game will release in May 2015.  That's a long ways off from when it was revealed June 2013...

Shot a 42 on a nine-hole Par 3 course today. For those of you that play regularly that is probably laughable, but I'm quite pleased with it.
Sounds good to me, but then again I don't play golf and suck at mini-golf even.

Btw

What do the Pars mean in golf? Is that like difficulty level?

Eh, kinda but not really.

The Par number is the number of times you should hit the ball before you make it in the hole, and is usually determined by the length of the hole. So if a hole is a Par 3, you should be sinking your ball with your 3rd shot.

That being said, if you can make a par on every hole you play, you are an extremely good golfer. I only got 1 par on the 9 holes I played today, and I was very proud of that one par.

Oh ok

I think I got it

So theoretically, you could have done it in 27 hits for? 43 sounds pretty good then :D it's not far off at all

Dear Diary: I guess I was offline on PS4 while completing these last 3 fixer contracts in Watch Dogs so the trophy didn't pop. Thought it was glitched but then a few minutes later my PS4 connected online and I got about 6 notifications all at once before getting the trophy. Gonna finish up Social Lubricant hopefully without too much difficulty so I can play lots of PvZ tomorrow.

Also, to you rude people who are reading my diary and have Social Lubricant, do I just have to fast travel and walk back to the bar every time?

EDIT: God damn. Level 6 took like 10 tries. Gonna give myself maybe 3 or 4 fails before I go to sleep. Level 7 was easy as balls. One try on that one. Looks like the Yellow/Blue circle challenges are the hardest.

EDIT 2: Okay level 8 was piss easy, too even though they threw a curveball at the end. Gettin this plat tonight.

I liked it. It's not revolutionizing the platforming genre but I found it enjoyable.
I started liking it more once I was past the first boss and out of the movie theater or whatever. It seems like the second world has a bigger variety of platforming challenges. I only paid 99 cents for it, so I think I'll end up getting my money's worth.

fuck yeah. Watch Dogs plat. Gonna sleep. Social Lubricant was my bitch. Controller just died. Nice.

Hahahahaha what?

That's average trophy completion. It has nothing to do with who does and doesn't like the game. Someone might have loved it, but didn't want to get the plat or most of the trophies. A ton of them are completely optional.
Seems like there'd be a correlation between people liking the gameplay and people going for the trophies. I know that's how I am--if I enjoy a game I'll be a lot more interested in the various challenges it offers.

I just started playing golf and that was my most recent score... My friend is really good got a 36
Did you actually count every stroke? When I "just started" I didnt count some shots because, ya know, I just started. And I would think I played better than I actually did. But if you really did shoot a 42 on a par 3 course that is good. But again, your doing it wrong if you arent getting wasted and talking shit about the wife.

This is relevant...somehow.

Zimm, someone else got you beat on the cynical meter today.  The guy on the radio this morning was lamenting the ice bucket challenge.  He said he looked up the ALS Assocation that is getting most of the money from this.  Apparently their last financial statement from 2012 shows they only give 22% of the money they take in.  The rest is spent on expenses like 30% or something to salaries or several million.  Along with another $7 million for travel and other expenses.

I dont remember the exact details other than only 22% of the money they take in goes out to the actual cause.
