Black Friday nears...

And to add, I read the Eurogamer review and while it notes the improvements, I can't pick it up the same way I didn't TLOU Remastered and TR Definitive.
Good point.

By the way, were you not entertained by Strider :)ps4:)? And where's your trophy card? :shame:

Didn't find it in me to start Strider. Been having some football fun in NCAA and detective work in Batman. Vita is dry as well and catching up on some movies/TV shows.

Yo, if u dont get Metro Redux then trade in your PS4.

Was excited to play some Counterspy this morning since I preloaded the game last night but found out that it doesn't actually release until 1pm. WTF?

Zimm, someone else got you beat on the cynical meter today. The guy on the radio this morning was lamenting the ice bucket challenge. He said he looked up the ALS Assocation that is getting most of the money from this. Apparently their last financial statement from 2012 shows they only give 22% of the money they take in. The rest is spent on expenses like 30% or something to salaries or several million. Along with another $7 million for travel and other expenses.

I dont remember the exact details other than only 22% of the money they take in goes out to the actual cause.
I understand they can't give all of it to research because they have to run the thing and pay people to run the thing. Don't know how much some of the top dogs in the org make, but they could probably tone it done a bit.

But still 22% of 15 million is a heck of a lot more than 22% of 1.5 million. And maybe that percentage will jump up now that more money has come in. I mean if they used 1.2 million for non-research stuff last year (78% of 1.5 mil), then you could say that that's the same amount they would pay this year, but we'll move it up to 1.4 mil for inflation and extra admins to process all these donations (I'll refrain from getting all cynical again and hope the upper ups don't give themselves fat raises). That gives you a solid 13.6 million that goes to the good people now. Or 90%. So that's better I guess?

That's what's so shameful about all those 9/11 charities which sprung up after the attack, so many of those all the money went to salaries or paying for mailers and fundraising activities with none of it actually going to support any causes.

Ok questions for TLOU experts?  Are challenges that you pick un pickable later?  Just had a 60% challenge that I killed!!!  Picked healing, in 5 minutes in supply raid I had 15 heals which was the max heals for the challenge.. I also realized that healing is the easiest way to collect items and I went from 37 to 44 people in one supply raid game.  Also saw Stoch's advice with support player and been using that to heal and craft!

my friend that I played with last night has only ever made it to week 6 before dying and says it gets super hard and almost impossible to do, however Velo and Stoch both makes it seem pretty easy any tips would be appreciated!

Don't really follow Sony news much aside from gaming stuff. Not sure if he has had much direct impact to the extent where him stepping aside signals specific changes coming. Like, "He's a really big Vita supporter and pushed it really hard during his tenure," for example, and the replacement not really focusing much on it. Things of that nature.

Easier challenges are best left for 100% extinction events. Mid tier for 60%, but I prefer a purge now and then, since its more manageable. All in all, pick those you're not awesome at for 60%, so you can practice those skills it requires and easy ones for the 100%. Hope it helps.

You can pick them later, you just have to do more of them to meet the goal. So that time you had to do 15 heals for max. Next time you might have to do 20. I picked heals every time, and by the last week I had to do like 50 heals to max it out. Not a big deal though, since healing is super easy. When you play with a guy like Matt, you can get heals every 2-3 seconds. Wait for him to get down, revive, and then heal him up.

Ok, that's better, yea I picked up 7 heals I think just from a revive, I literally shot at one guy the rest of the time I followed people around and healed and revived, seems pretty easy! Maybe mix in revives, or is there another easy one that I haven't tried yet? I have done downs was able to get 6/9 needed, and revives was able to get 5/6 needed.

My friend just says it gets way to hard to continue, is it better to have more people or less, he seemed to think have less?

I was looking at them last night and they're all about 2% so far, I was expecting them to be closer to 8-10%.
15% on psn profiles for most of the single player... I don't trust the rarity on the actual trophy list on PS4 because it calculates for a lot of people who pop in games and never work on them.

Oh, are you looking at them on the PS4? If so, those numbers are way low. I noticed this with MLB and Knack etc. Psnprofiles has much higher %.

Ps4 pros: how does the PS4 trophies % get calculated?

Uh, yeah, so far that would be me. I put the disc in to install the game and get the update, but I haven't started it yet. I suppose that might show up as "playing it". In the evening I think, I'm going to start TLoU:R tonight, but then once the kids are in bed/the Orioles game is over, I end up playing Pinball Arcade or another quick-ish game.

we discussed it in someones blog post. The difference is PSN profiles only looks at people who are signed up through PS Profiles I believe. Whereas PS4 tracks everyone who has ever started up the game. A lot of people don't care about trophies so don't really go for any, where as people only go to psn profile because they are a trophy hunter, therefore easier trophies that need to be worked for are a lot higher on PSN profiles

That is a good score. If you were drunk.

Seriously, as long as your drinking while playing it doesnt matter the score. #goodtimes
No, just drank water. It was 92 degrees out and I don't like drinking beer when it's that warm. Tried it before on the course and it just sucked ass and made me want to drink water.

Plus I don't really like beer that much anyway.

Well I will be on tonight and Thursday if anyone wants to join up, was fun playing with a friend of mine last night.... Boy was cross game chat missed on the PS3, was awesome being able to chat even if one of us died and the other didn't. A little cheating since they could tell me where all the guys were.

Did you actually count every stroke? When I "just started" I didnt count some shots because, ya know, I just started. And I would think I played better than I actually did. But if you really did shoot a 42 on a par 3 course that is good. But again, your doing it wrong if you arent getting wasted and talking shit about the wife.
Yeah I counted every stroke, I always do. Only thing I bitched about on the course was my putting game.

I got my time off for PAX Prime so I will be going to PAX on Saturday. I will definitely be hitting up the Indie Megabooth, but if there is anything else anyone here wants me to try and see or play I can see what I can do. Just let me know. Either way I will probably do a write up (maybe in a blog post) and link it here with my impressions of everything I play and see as well as platforms if the devs have that info.

Yeah, on the PS4 itself. Not much of a trophy hunter so I don't have a psnprofiles setup.
You should at least get a trophy card in your sig. All the cool kids are doing it.

Like backlog said, you don't even have to be that in to trophies. It's just cool to see what everyone else is playing.

Naw, me and my friend go to a par 3 near me. get a couple of cigars and have a ton of fun! In the last month I have been maybe 8 times, the most I have gone ever besides the driving range here and there and I just shot a 42 as well. My friend has been golfing since he was 8 and is pretty good, he shot a 36. I think we may go to the full course, prices are great here. $9 for the Par 3, $14 for the regular course, 9 holes that is

Prices are pretty similar around here. I paid $8.50 of the Par 3 I played yesterday.

I went to PAX East last year. It was pretty fun, but if you want to play any of the AAA games you'll be waiting 2 hours to play for 5 minutes.
