No one will care about this in a month.  On Mike and Mike this morning Greenberg pointed out that the most searched story on ESPN.com yesterday was a fantasy football column.

You don't know the kind of abuse that happens in Fantasy Football, man. It's disturbing.

I have a monster of a headache today. I wish I had some of Wren's muscle relaxers.

And I was going to call in sick because of it, but yesterday I got put on this huge client conference call for right now. fucking sucks. Maybe I'll log out at lunch.

I think I'm going to try and trade in Destiny by Saturday night.  $43.20 at Best Buy with GCU.  Will probably stay around $44 for a few weeks but I doubt I'll be wanting to play it much longer than Saturday.

Love that you guys were telling me that I had to hold on to it forever...

How far along are you?

Good, maybe then you can start streaming things that are more interesting to watch. Yes... that would even include Putty Squad

I know nothing about Destiny aside from what you guys have said here (and honestly, I haven't even paid attention to much of that). How much of an "online" game is it? Will it still be worth playing months down the road once players have drifted away from it?

it could be because people don't really have to go to ESPN.com to read about it. It's already everywhere else.

But I do agree that the online media will move on from it, just like it seems they have with Ferguson.

So your goal is to just Snakey beat it?

Is there only one "Raid" in the whole game?

That Raiding party trophy would be fun to go for, have you PSNOTers set anything up yet?

Raids change weekly. And the game really opens up at level 20. Strikes are fun to do and getting good loot as you progress is nice. Multiplayer is excellent, with fluid pacing and teamwork ensuring that CoD fans get annihilated if they try to run and gun.

It can feel a bit heavy at first, but I guess that was due to Alpha/Beta fatigue. But with the new content and loot trickling in, its great.

Basically it's like Journey's online system, random people wander into your game and you can play with them. You can also form a fire team of up to 3, but that is kind of hard to do unless you have people you already know to play with as there is no way to communicate with players you meet who are not in your fire team other than 3 gestures (also similar to Journey). It was pretty boring playing the beta by myself so if you don't have anyone to play with regularly I wouldn't recommend it. This is especially because there is apparently zero narrative to keep you interested and engaged between missions. The beta was the entirety of the first planet, the Russia map, and in the course of completing it you meet 2 characters (both in the tower merchant/PVP hub area) and all they do is dump exposition.

Rather than a large connected open world, it is divided into 4 maps, one map per planet. On that largeish map all the MMO-ish missions will be done for that planet (go down this corridor and kill the boss or survive this wave of enemies while ghost does something). If you die, you respawn eventually where you were standing. As you get closer to bosses/the end of the mission you enter "dark zones" which are the corridors leading up to them. In dark zones any random players not in your party are split away into there own iteration of the level and you will be left to play the game on your own. If you die, you respawn at the entry point to the dark zone.

Playing the game requires a constant connection to Bungie's servers, there is no offline single player content.

Where do you work?

I'm going to make a post on reddit or some shit about how your company had a 9/11 celebration party. Then it will go viral and the whole company will be taken down.

That would probably be bad, so I will decline to provide that information. Besides, they'd trace it back to me and then they wouldn't let me read and post on CAG all day every day. What would you do then?

I finally got to try Destiny for the PS4 last night.  I was a little concerned about having connection issues in the retail version because I had constant disconnects in the beta (Baboon error code) but after playing for an hour last night I had no issues.  Feel free to add me on PSN.

Stotch said exactly what I thought when I read your post (well minus the posting it to get the company closed). What exactly is this New Year's Day crap and did they not think about it being 9/11 today?

Is that including the 50% bonus TIV promo they've got going right now?

Playing Deadnation online is fun, but there is lag. At least there was on my end of things. I can definitely see why Crimsonland did not bother to implement online play. I think Deadnation can get away with it more, but Crimsonland is more precise with smaller targets. Lag would not suit it well.

Wow, I didn't realize the base value was so low. $27 is crap for a brand new game.
Best Buy does that for all new releases when the 50% promo is active. By Sunday (when there won't be any trade-in promo), it'll probably go up to $35 or $40, depending on how many copies are traded in.

I did not notice lag. But maybe I am not as good at perceiving these things. Also I havent played it offline in a long time.

Anyone else think the way the PS4 handles patches is the worst than last gen? I mean you can launch the application and then the patch starts to download and then you have to close the application to install it? Am I just crazy? Will it install when I am playing?
