So basically if Vig or RPG win that contest, we give them an asterisk because they're using guides? I wouldn't have suspected Vig, but I knew RPG would never be able to finish a puzzle game without a guide.
Once the guides are out there, you're welcome to use them. How are we going to prove people didn't? Take them at their word? Haha.

At least Vig is admitting to using them, better than someone who "swears" they didn't use them even though we all assume they did anyway.

Wasn't giving you shit, I knew you had non-auto plats.

The Hannah Montana/Megamind class of plats is fantastic if you spend a weekend with friends and force yourself through terrible games. Honorable mention to Terminator Salvation for its GOOD SHOOTIN' GUYS scene.
My apologies for the post then. I certainly thought it was meant to be a jab at me. A friend of mine and I couch co-oped Terminator and it was a blast even though the game itself was pretty awful. I think all the jokes we made at its expense was the main reason it was fun.

You have some impressive games in your list. Just wondering, is there a reason you do not want to put your card in your sig?

But that makes no sense because this whole time, the reasoning to pick new games is so that people don't have guides to use and have to actually play the game. I can understand using a guide that gives you tips on something, but using a guide that gives you the answers to a puzzle game is extremely lame.

Basically it's a race to 2 million points now.

What am I gonna do? How am I going to enforce a no-guides rule?

in a way it always was.

is there some sort of cookie package meme generator or something? sometimes I have a hard time believing that any of these things exist.

Gonna be a bit later than usual, I'm trying to win a copy of Costume Quest 2 off Midnight City's stream so I can stream it during Extra Life.
Can't you just superimpose a '2' everywhere it says Costume Quest and stream the original? I thought it was basically the same game and you were aces with computers.

I can't stand root beer, so not yet
I always found root beer to taste too Pepto Bismol-ly.

If I didn't know all of the movies you're talking about, I would assume you mean "directed" when you say "did." Which is funny since Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine, and Synecdoche are all directed by different people.
Right, haha. I mean, yeah, the guy in Adaptation is based on him. I should have clarified. I'm not sure who directed any of these. This is one of those instances where I feel the screenwriter's sensibilities supersede that of the director so I kinda consider them "his" films.

Also, for anyone interested, he has early drafts of some of these on his website. Eternal Sunshine in particular is pretty different (and much darker) from the final version.

@ Tyler... Adaptation is probably my least favorite, lol. I need to watch it again because I wasn't really feeling it. Eternal Sunshine is at the top. John Malchoich a close second. Synecdoche, third.

A much darker Eternal Sunshine would be an interesting read. I've never read a script before though.

I think the difference is that with Velocity 2X there wasn't anything a guide would have really helped with. It was mostly just getting good at the game. The lab levels on Pix can be done very quickly using a guide whereas if there wasn't one a lot of people would need to spend a lot of time on it. I'm not sure how much it really matters though because I think only a few people are really competing for it anyways.

V2X had a guide for finding the pickups for the bonus levels.

How helpful was that? I didn't even bother with the bonus stuff cause I wasn't competing. I assumed that everyone was done with that by the time the guide was out.

And by the way I'm not calling you out for using a guide or anything. I started using it as well. I'm not against guides, just pointing out what I believed Stoch had a problem with

No doubt Lone Survivor PS4 will be crossbuy and lacking a separate trophy list. Damn Curve.

Terrible, awful, tragic news guys.  I received an update on my package from Amazon due to be delivered today, and it appears that it has been delayed "because of weather or natural disaster".  Looks like it was shipping from Phoenix, and looking at a US weather map I see no disturbing weather patterns anywhere in the Arizona area.

Therefore, the only assumption left to be made is that there has been a *tragic natural disaster* somewhere between Phoenix AZ and Salt Lake City UT.  I haven't heard anything on the news yet, but I'm sure it's about to break at any moment.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all those located in this unspecified area that are affected by this natural disaster.  God speed to all affected!  Never forget!

I guess it's also possible that UPS is bad at their job........

Those are actually much much easier than the grind of the fixer contracts. I bet rpg has probably already posted a video guide by the time I finish posting this.

Speaking of stupid contests, has anyone been able to get this alleged Taco Bell contest to work? First I had to insist that they look for the contest boxes for the contest they have huge signs up about. Finally I get a box and text in the code and it comes back saying to Reply with "Yes" to agree to rules and enter the contest. I do that and about 30 seconds pass and then it asks me to Reply with "Yes" again - same exact message. I reply again and then nothing. Nice!

I suppose, but I'm about to go trade the game anyway. Already beat it on release, but I had a copy from the recent Gamefly sale and was only a few fixer contracts away anyhow. Now to go trade it at Walmart for $41

Wasn't there some big issue with past Taco Bell contests where people won and they never got their prizes? Because a couple dudes hacked it so they determined that no one was a winner. I feel like I remember this.

Cat was telling me yesterday that it was raining in Phoenix. They probably just don't understand why water is falling from the sky in the desert and assume it's the end of days.

BTW, I was away for a bit talking to someone about a new job. It would be a nice bump in pay and the annual bonus would be at least double what I get now. I am only a candidate at this point but probably the leading person to get it. I just have to officially apply and then speak to 3 managers, all of whom are pretty high up. #nervous

Iron Banner gear does not give you upgrade materials when you dismantle it.

To Bungie:

Go fuck yourselves.[/quote]

Just like the Queens Armor. I have two but put one in the vault since doesn't give you the upgrade materials.
