PSN Off-Topic - Happy Thanksgiving Chumps and Chumpettes!

Its sad that I am excited about leaving work early today only to go to my daughters school for some parent teacher night. When you get old you really stretch to find things to be excited about.
I forgot that you had kids. I thought you were going Stotch-style and just married with no kids.

I suspect purists like you wouldn't like it, but I think some sort of save state feature could really benefit these pinball games. High scores mean long games and I rarely have big chunks of time to dedicate to it. There have been a few times when I was playing where my wife kept giving me the evil eye because she wanted the TV and I kept getting extra balls (think it was one of the Elvira tables) so I eventually just stopped trying and ended my game.
Believe me, I wished I could have saved the state of that game of TZ. I needed to get to bed! But in addition to that, I wish we had an Expert option like I described, with its own leader board

It's baseball season, people. Baseball.

I'm going to the Orioles game tonight. Maybe you'll see me on TV? Going to be behind home plate, row 14. I have no idea how far down that is, though. I've never had field box seats before.

if anyone wants em before they sell on amazon:

prototype 2 :ps3: New $10 shipped
dead space 2 :ps3: New $20 shipped

also if any regulars who are collectors want the copy of dishonored :ps3: I won that's opened and signed by the dev team on the alt side of the cover you can have it, just pay shipping (like $2.50). I'd like someone that will keep it to have it. non regulars need not apply.

That Deathmatch Village game that came out last week doesn't have any. Plus all PS Mobile games, which this very possibly could be since it's coming out for moblie phones as well.
PSM games aren't Vita games, obviously. I wasn't aware that Deathmatch Village lacked trophies. I wonder why--it can't be because it's F2P, since Destiny of Spirits has them.

Um, I'll take it if you're really giving it away!!! That would be awesome! I'll gladly pay shipping for that!

Looks like they finally updated the PSNP image for 2X.

Oh, and 50 is done. You definitely CANNOT let go of the boost the entire time, as I did that and just made it at 1:00 (that 3-second end "scene" really helped matters ). affa's touch-teleport tip helped immensely, as well.
Awesome, glad that helped.

RE: Platforming levels.

I like them. I haven't gotten to some of the mechanics I saw mentioned here, but so far they seem really smooth. They're definitely hard -- I understand the complaint about 'too many inputs' though I don't really have a problem managing stuff like 'no firing during sprint'. I do have to switch my button grip to do those nasty 'teleport while in the air' jumps. I don't have any issue with the throws or combat though.

Then again, I generally have been completing levels gold with enough time to spare to give myself a little breathing room during platforming sections.

Actually using the correct controls also helps a lot. For example, there are times when you can jump OR teleport, and times when you can right stick fire or use the rifle (circle). Sections with lots of wall teleports, for example, work best if you simply hit 'square circle' (teleport with instant rifle shot) -- this will clear lots of obstacles (especially mines) w/far less chance of fumbling firing your gun due to sprinting.

Yup, Level 47 is going to be the bane of my existence. :headache:

No midnight Destiny for me.  My Best Buy isn't going to be doing one.  Probably better so I'm not tempted to take off work, now I can just pick it up at lunch and play after work.  Maybe take a few hours on Wednesday assuming the servers aren't completely engulfed in flames at that point.

Completely off topic (in the off topic thread?), but does anyone in here own counter strike: global offensive? I have 2 trophies left that I cannot seem to get playing regularly, make the cut and bunny hunt, just want to get these and be done with the plat.

I've always wanted to check out Dark Sector. Have it digitally on 360 but have yet to play it. It sucks that some games like that aren't digital on the PS3...it drives me nuts.

I started Metal Gear Rising last night, that game is like a bowl full of adrenaline so far. Pretty fun.

So do you guys think that Comic Con celebs like going to these conventions?  Interacting with fans, getting paid to take pics and sign autographs, etc.  Or do you think they hate it and it feels demeaning and they find the fans annoying?

I dont think there is a one size fits all answer to that one. I am sure there are people there that enjoy it and those that are just there for an appearance fee.

Well, I did play it right when it came out and not since. No guarantee that it aged well. Same situation with Stranglehold which I recommended to someone the other day. I was also in college at the time and smoking a lot of pot. The slow motion glaive dismemberment was really entertaining to me.
You've convinced me, I'll pull it out of my completed games / so-so purgatory pile and put it back into the active rotation. Will probably finish Heavenly Sword tonight (haven't had time to play since labor day) and then have another number and letter combination drawing for the next game (maybe it will win).

So it sounds like most people here are pretty pro-DP, even considering some of the technical concerns it obviously has.  I think I'm gonna give DP a shot.

I played Minecraft for a couple dozen hours on PC a couple of years ago. It was fun exploring down in caverns and building out from that base to other caverns to explore. Then without warning I got low enough that I mined into a layer of lava which caused me to immediately fall in and get killed, burning up all my tools I had spent said couple dozen of hours acquiring and that pretty much killed my enjoyment of it.

And I forgot about Velo. He still has a chance too.
nah. iv got the new cod dlc, iv got 'work' tonite, iv got a tv I need to buy/fix, I will be lucky if I get 25 perfects or all golds/perfects on critical urgency levels. I have probly hit my wall with this game, but it was a fun race and I look forward to the next competition ;)

Maybe I'll try Velocity tonight then. But there's no way I'm pulling my hair out in order to get perfect scores based on differences measured in seconds.

Persona 4 golden takes a long time to get started. Thankfully some of the dialogue/choices from P3 already seem to be gone.

"Do you wish to go to sleep?  yes/no." "You choose to go to sleep." ' Do you want to leave? Yes/No.' "You decide to leave."

I'm a bit ashamed that I beat P4G and didn't immediately go for the plat. I plan on making that my 70th, so hopefully it won't be long before I get back into it.

n yeah no midnite destiny release for me either. I am thinking of changing my pre order to a diff store so I can get that tshirt, but maybe my store will still have tshirts anyway?  also anyone ever try geeksquad for tv repair?

I will have to try that touch teleport. I found a tip for the platforming levels is that you can tap square and teledash faster than you can run and you will still pick up all crystals. Helped me shave a few seconds off 40.

also I know this makes me gay, but dvp>dp.
