ThermalPile: At what point do we look to a game's trophy completion percentage to determine how good it is?

Looking at V2X, and it only has 7%, but it's really only been out for a few days so I think it might be too soon.

I haven't actually played them myself, but Bloodrayne Betrayal, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Double Dragon Neon seem to be pretty decent side-scrollers.

This your first time playing it as well? I got to the part when you first get to the town. I'm excited to check out more tonight, although I was also thinkning about checking out the new CoD DLC (got the season pass for free from Best Buy's epic free Pretige Edition coupon). Would anyone be interested in seeing it streamed?

I mean I'd take a 7 out of 10-ish TMNT game. I guess I wasn't very clear, but I'm not expecting pure greatness based on what they've done. And yes, I consider 7 out of 10 to be good.

I will have to try that touch teleport. I found a tip for the platforming levels is that you can tap square and teledash faster than you can run and you will still pick up all crystals. Helped me shave a few seconds off 40.

Yeah, DVP is really pretty gay.

 
DD Neon wasn't good but it was fun for the 2 or 3 levels I played. Duck Tales was just a graphical update so can't say it really counts as their game. Brave and the Bold was ok. I think that's most of their games ok or passable but nothing to get super stoked for.

When it comes to love-hate games like this one I usually watch the first level or two on youtube; that's enough for me to know if I'll like it or not.

 
WayForward is definitely one of the most bipolar devs out there.  Total crapshoot whether their games are going to be any good.

Most people like the Shantae games, I loved Bloodrayne and Ducktales was sweet too.

I enjoyed Mighty Switch Force on 3DS. That was a good fun platformer.

But yeah, they are very hit or miss. Mostly miss after perusing the list.

IIRC I said how much people like it, not how good it is. :)

Speaking of V2X, I just quit VU at level 10 (gold but not perfect.) I hate the teleport controls. They're just so cumbersome and don't feel comfortable at all. I might try again later with my grip or on PS3, but on Vita it just feels like I'm constantly fighting the controls rather than trying to nail the level timing.

I feel some hot breath on the back of my neck. I am in a trophy rut at the moment - Diablo 3 is not going to net me a lot of pts until i get to level 70 with 6 characters. I also want to start the Dark Souls 2 DLC tonight (no trophies). All my points from my recent RL plat have melted away. Sucks when TT updates work AGAINST you.

I answered not really for me in the poll. I don't hate Minecraft, but it's not my favorite. Like I've said a million times, I prefer the 2D of Terraria. That being said, I will play it because of the $5 upgrade and new trophies. I wonder if you load your save, if any trophies will auto pop.

yeah i got my girl an extra copy of ghosts ps3 for $3 at target also, but I told her for $20 we can just couch co op ;)

n I would believe it includes 9/6, but just check the target thread on cag. I have avoided checking other threads besides this one, but I check every few days and try to bring any good outside info into this thread for hermits like myself.

My library has minecraft classes for the kids, so I am tempted to make them take the class and then get trophies on minecraft for me. I mean, let them play it for 'fun'.

Thermo, I will help you get that scavenger trophy. I think we might have to do offline tho, just cuz too many asshats don't understand what 'dont search shit' means. I will try to get 2 of my buds to join us, cuz they can follow simple commands and are all leveled up/skilled like me, but they might be doing all the new dlc stuff. just hit me up.

I am kind of pissed off that I didnt get in on that ghost action.  Disregarding the high tiv I would have played the SP for $3!  Oh well.

I was able to get an xbone copy to flip and a ps3 for my girl. I try not to go crazy with those deals. I still have the prestige edition I bought last year, only 20% off, not the super deal, and I still need to pull out the gopro cam. someday...

Cool. I almost always enjoy the SP in call of duty. I really wanted to play black ops because the SP is supposed to be really good. But the damn game has never been on sale for less than or even near $10 that I ever saw.

 
When was Ghosts $3 at Target? Clearance or something random? $20 for pre-order thing?

I platted World at War. That was my first plat. and then I finished MW(no trophies) and MW2, but havnt finished a campaign since.

I mostly just play the zombies/extinction/spec ops and 99% just the multiplayer with my clan buddies.

We got in the top 100 clans this year, won all gold tournaments (so unlocked all red body count camo/armor/guns) and then moved to diamond division and won a bunch of those (unlocked all gold/black war cry camo/armor/guns).

I enjoy it and it is great stress relief. It doesn't help with getting any trophies tho ;) The best thing for gatorbeek/rpg/etc is that I am hooked on CoD MP most of the nightly free time. or else I would really be getting those trophies. 

also gatorbeekgeek kicked me out of the ps3t.org trophy contest group because I played too much CoD. it is a compulsion / addiction that I just can't kick.

avgn trying to get that half pizza and 1 block jump on tmnt for 4 minutes is comedy gold.

I just ate the dollar.

and gatorbeek I never knew there was a group to chat/message til like after the competition. Then I checked it and everyone was like where is velo, lol. If you guys would have messaged or emailed me once then I would have been on there. It is hard for me to be active in a group that I didn't know existed. and I had a higher score than you, that's crazy. I always thought I was kicked cuz I was playing CoD every night instead of trophy games and bringing the group down. peace bud

Depends on the budget and time constraints being imposed on them by the financier of the project. Since they are announcing it now and it comes out "later this year" (probably before holidays) that kinda implies it is a quick and cheap game trying to capitalize in the boost of popularity in the property following the movie, even if it is based on the new incarnation of the television show. Under those circumstances even a really great studio won't be able to do much.

 
Ghosts is the first CoD SP campaign I've played. Makes me want to go back and try the others. Not sure which are worth it at this point, though.

I was definitely blinded by fandom as a kid as I got from pizza hut and listened to all the time the cassette tape soundtrack of the TMNT "Coming out of their Shells" musical stage show which features nuggets like this:

I had that tape from Pizza Hut. It was the first album I ever owned. I also had the tour VHS that my grandma got for me.

 
didn't pizza hut serve big pitchers of beer too. I remember going there after soccer/baseball games and the parents would give us a bunch of quarters to leave them alone while they drank a bunch of beer. those were the best co op games but they were quarter eaters. That xmen game was awesome cuz it was 6 players too. that was revolutionary. and winners dont use drugs.

CoD4: Modern Warfare, Black Ops, and Black Ops II are the only CoD campaigns worth playing.
