Oh, and I'll probably be playing TLoU in an hour or so Simmias. And whoever else wants to play.
Two balls are a total waste.Where's jay when you need him?
While I agree with pretty much everything here, it's worth noting that a big part of the issue isn't just that 'government' makes too much money, but also that our government is deeply in bed with corporate interests (in this case, big pharm, but it's true of almost every industry). Heck, many of the bills that get passed are essentially written (and certainly approved) by the lobbyists representing the affected industries. It's why 'regulations' never work... they're written by those they're supposed to cap. Big Pharm and drug laws, Big Farm and 'organic'/gmo regs, Disney and copyright, the entertainment industry and the DMCA and [no longer] public airwaves, it goes on and on and on. Basically, my point is just that you're right, but it's not just because of gov't coffers... it's because of politicians lining their own pockets, campaign financing / lobbyist issues, politicians and policy makers with deep ties to private industry, etc.Wren pretty much mailed it. The "war" on drugs is nothing more than a cash grab for the government. It will never be "winnable" or even close to it. You want to "win the war"? Then make them all legal, tax the shit outta them, and regulate them. That will all but kill the black market, reducing crime in the process.
My opinion??? This never happens because the government makes so much money off having people addicted to pharmaceutical drugs, they're afraid (just like with medical marijuana) that it will put a dent in their money making. The same thing has happened with e-cigarettes. Once they realized how good of a replacement these things are, and that its crippling their money from tobacco sales, they do whatever they can to discredit them, tax them out the ass, or straight up get rid of them.
It has always been, and will always be, about the money. Never about the people.
It's either/or. You can only see the 1gb internal memory if you don't have a memory card in...which you really have to have to do anything with the Vita anyway. The only time it would ever be useful is if you're doing all your gaming on physical media. It's a pointless addition and I didn't mention it for a reason. Also doesn't it have 1 gig of storage on it? You can't store games on that gig, but it frees up room on your memory card for more games. Did I dream reading that or is that legit?
God damn it, I'm going out in like an hour. I'll be back around 10 EST though if you'll still be on. I'll look for you.Oh, and I'll probably be playing TLoU in an hour or so Simmias. And whoever else wants to play.
I'd go with Velo's list, except I'd substitute 42 for 48.So I got my 25 perfects. Guess I'm about done. Vig and Champ, which levels would you say are the 5 hardest to perfect? No point in continuing now unless I start on the hardest ones and work backwards.
40, 42, 47, 49 and 50 were tough
I'm only part of the CAG and PSN OT leaderboards; are there others I should join? How come cloud_squall isn't on some of the leaderboards?
Ok. Thanks for straitening me out. Yeah, that *is* pretty worthless, pointless. It's either/or. Well, thanks for the motivation for finishing the plat. Just finished it again real quick since the speed run was all I needed. Did it slightly faster than you, though I think I could have shaved off a lot of time wasted on some unnecessary upgrades. Also, I played it on normal this time so I'm pretty sure I beat the time from when I played it on ps3. (2:24:18, 43.8%)Wow, that Strider speed run was a helluva lot easier than I expected...
Fun game if you like metroidvania style games, but it's pretty simple (except when you're traveling between areas trying to collect everything - they kindaed that up. Fast travel would have been nice.)
I dont know if your doing something against your will but I find it /funny we get pissed for having plans on a Saturday night over playing video games.God damn it, I'm going out in like an hour. I'll be back around 10 EST though if you'll still be on. I'll look for you.
With Vig's lame ass Sound Shapes sync, it put him, me, Sim, and Wren all within 8000 points of one another on TT.
War on drugs is a cash grab for the government, so we should legalize drugs and... tax them? That would also be a huge cash grab for the government. Bureaucracies would still need to exist to enforce tax compliance, crack down on illegal growers and sellers, various amounts of possession would still be criminalized (like with alcohol and cigarettes, only at way lower levels). The more the drugs are taxed and regulated, the less its impact on the black market would be, which would only empower the government to further regulate/tax/whatever. This is on top of the huge revenue that would be going straight to the hands of government under your legalization proposal, which isn't currently happening.Wren pretty much mailed it. Immigration laws got their start against some of those same groups in the 1800s. Fancy that, the government using expanded power in one area as justification for limiting freedom elsewhere, too. Here's a really good video that summarizes the war on drugs, IMO. Coolest part is that it stars Andre from The League.

The correct solution is to decriminalize it, legalize it, whatever, and require no licensing and not tax it. You can then fire a good chunk of the police force, have far fewer people in prison for putting things into their owning body, and give the government less of an incentive to militarize police forces across the country.
Of course, democrats would never go for that, since they love nanny state government and unions too much to fire a bunch of government enforcers, and republicans fellate cops and law and order and every possible opportunity.
There was a dude who was recently killed by cops in New York because he was selling loose cigarettes. States with punitive laws are experiencing black markets:http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/2014/03/11/its-no-toke-colorado-pulls-in-millions-in-marijuana-tax-revenue/
I also forgot about those thriving alcohol and tobacco black markets.
Oh shit, that is totally comparable to the marijuana black market, good example. There was a dude who was recently killed by cops in New York because he was selling loose cigarettes.
And I don't see increased revenue for the government as a good thing. Unless the 'tax and regulate' pathway for drug legalization includes massive police layoffs, it's a failure.
Marijuana has been completely criminalized by federal law for well over 50 years. Cigarettes have been widely available.Oh shit, that is totally comparable to the marijuana black market, good example.
Just don't let him get you pregnant.ing Tyler starts the worst arguments.
Are you trying to prove my point or switch your argument?Marijuana has been completely criminalized by federal law for well over 50 years. Cigarettes have been widely available.
My argument has been that heavily taxing and regulating drugs won't limit the black market in the same manner as legalizing and not taxing and regulating it (it will also lessen benefits of slashed government bureaucracy and police forces). Even with a product that has been widely available (cigarettes), black markets are emerging in areas that are punitively taxing and regulating it.Are you trying to prove my point or switch your argument?
Why would you not see this as a good thing? As long as it doesn't line someones personal pocket, it shouldn't be anything BUT a good thing. Sure, there will be qualms with what to spend it on, or not to spend it on, but thats to be expected. My only fear is that this wouldn't happen. Just like the lottery. You can't tell me (with where I live, anyways) that all the proceeds go to education. We're laying off teachers left and right, cutting the remaining ones pay, etc.And I don't see increased revenue for the government as a good thing. Unless the 'tax and regulate' pathway for drug legalization includes massive police layoffs, it's a failure.
Lol, but it's true. Who's died from weed?! Alcohol is wayyyy more harmful. I've encountered plenty of belligerent drunks (myself included). People who areI've never smoked pot. I can't really handle things that have to be smoked. I would probably eat it just to try it out, but I've never been presented the chance. I don't have an issue with people who smoke pot or do any drugs for that matter. What I hate are the idiots who try to throw it out there like "No one has ever died from pot." Yeah maybe not, but I promise you that plenty of people have died from doing stupid shit while high.
But basically, when it comes down to it my philosophy in life is to just not give a shit what other people want to do with their lives. If it in no way has an impact on my life, I really couldnt care less what someone does.
I was out food shoppin with my mom, doeseriously what happened to snakey. I feel like there's a missing page of posts.
I want reduced revenue to the government. To give the government more revenue would be contrary to that goal. Why would you not see this as a good thing? As long as it doesn't line someones personal pocket, it shouldn't be anything BUT a good thing. Sure, there will be qualms with what to spend it on, or not to spend it on, but thats to be expected. And massive police layoffs? For what? Make them do theiring job for once. Maybe can a large portion of drug-only related task forces, etc.
*autism intensifies*Uh oh the king of arguing has entered the thread. Please stop before it gets unbearable.
Are you using both analog sticks? You hate way too many games. I think you should give up gaming and pick up a new hobby. Under Defeat HD is a great game.Beat Under Defeat HD. On Easy. I'm okay with never going higher because the game is a complete dick.
I don't really play shmups, though. Maybe somebody that does would like it more. Who beat it in 6 hours? How'd you like it? I thought it was cheap and that there was too much vision-obscuring stuff going on for a game that requires dodging everything.
Hopefully Jebus will help you out!Everyone hear the story about my ankle? It hurts like hell. I think I may have cancer.
Yep, sure was. I didn't say I hated it. Actually running through the extra mode was super quick and easy now that I know how to handle the bosses. It took me about a half hour, is all. That doesn't change that there are a number of vision-obscuring things going on that make it easy to die because you don't know where you or the bullets are, or that there are enemies that come from the sides or below you that you have no real way to be prepared for unless you've played the game previously. Those are just bad mechanics IMO.Are you using both analog sticks? You hate way too many games. I think you should give up gaming and pick up a new hobby. Under Defeat HD is a great game.
I actually shaved today cuz it was so hot.Whoever looks like Velo or Matt Young must be getting baked 24/7.

Theres also other helicopters you can pick with different guns and missiles.Yep, sure was. I didn't say I hated it. The guns are super weak in the game, too. Unless you're running an option (some of which are also super weak) then killing anything even on easy takes forever. That's a bit unbalanced IMO.
It was worth what I paid for it, but unless the above issues are typical characteristics of the genre then it's got some things that could have been done better.
Well, I get compared to Daniel Bryan, CM Punk (he used to have long hair and a beard), and Jesus when it comes to my appearance, and none of them smoke. Okay, maybe Jesus.Whoever looks like Velo or Matt Young must be getting baked 24/7.
