Here's pharm at the Bucs game, eating cereal out of a box like any normal fan at a stadium.
What a corporate shill that guy is.

Holy shit, reports coming out that the white PS4 plays games at 1081p and 61fps and the difference compared to the black one is significantly noticeable.

Suck on that Scales!

Top 3 scoring teams in CAG Fantasy:
1) Mile High Mannings
2) Simmias
3) SJD

Feels good.
Oh hey I played team one on the list. Lucky me!

But seriously fuck you. Larry Fitz and unknown Chandler kicker are gonna wreck some shop tomorrow and put me high high high above y'all.

(I don't believe this at all)

I finished level 50 on V2X. After playing them all there's no way I can get the platinum and it's mainly due to those platforming missions like others mentioned. They're mainly fun but not when trying to not die and going for perfect. I'll probably just finish getting 25 perfects since I only need 2 more and getting gold on all critical urgency levels. Good luck to everyone else! I have no idea how you did it, Vigilante. That's an amazing feat.

It appears Deadly Premonition has gone up just a bit in TT score. Point value up a total of only 18 points, enough to make it pass Fallout 3 as my best game so far. I fully expect Vig and others here to drag that score back down though.

under defeat isn't too bad, worth what I paid for it. the hit box on your player is weird and I'm having a hell of a time dodging some of the barrages even on easy, but it's fun. I don't totally get how to finish off the last boss without alternating bombs with two players. I think I managed to weave through that mess once by pure luck, but whatevs.

The last boss is actually super easy once you figure out the trick; you have to shoot up the barrel of the big gun. Shooting anywhere else does nothing. Have your option be a cannon and it only takes 2 rounds fighting him. As soon as the barrel is pointing straight down, be in front of the barrel and start shooting up it. A bit into the shooting the barrel will jump to indicate it's loaded. Keep shooting a bit longer, then start moving to the side to dodge the bullet when it comes out. When that happens you should have it at a bit under 50% health. Now you just have to survive the two crazy waves of screen-filling bullets (I used a bomb for each one) and then start shooting up the barrel again. As long as you've got cannon blasting away you'll kill it before it fires the second bullet.

Played a bit more MGS2 last night. Decided to experiment some more with the whole standing at corners and leaning approach; turns out that even though you can't aim at all with that approach (as opposed to aiming, rotating the camera all the way around, then stepping out around the corner), you don't have to. Auto aim is crazy and even if the enemy is nowhere near where your laser site indicates they'll still get shot. That's silly, but feels way better to play.

Did notice another couple of silly things, though; Cell calls every goddamn second, and Snake/Raiden constantly repeating everything that's said.

*Raiden sees two guards.*

*Cell phone rings.*

General: "You need to deal with the two guards."

Raiden: "Deal with??"

*Raiden sees a bug.*

*Cell phone rings.*

General: "You need to step on the bug!"

Raiden: "Step on?!"

The story and dialogue are definitely falling into the "this is so bad it's good" kind of category.

So how is the actual shooting/gameplay of Deadly Premonition? I mean, do you guys just love it because of the weird wacky story and characters? Are the actual gameplay sections even enjoyable? Or are they just a chore you have to do to get to the next part of the plot?
The combat isn't fun, but where the 360 version had difficulty levels, this one is locked on what is considered to be easy mode from the 360 version. One of the early side missions gives you a wrench with infinite uses, and it takes out the shadows with one hit. Aside from the boss battles and maybe 10 or so "crawling shadows", you don't even have to bother aiming a gun. So you can pretty much just run through the combat sections and get back to the good stuff. You can even just run past most of the shadows and not bother fighting them if you want.

Not for a little while, but it's on the list. ;)

I want to know your thoughts once you've actually beaten the game...

This is why you play Deadly Premonition (not very spoiler-y since this is from close to the beginning of the game):

The gameplay is more like a poor man's (maybe even a broke man's) RE4, but it's just so undeniably charming in its overall execution.

BTW, Target's Cartwheel app has a 10% off Destiny promo going. It is valid for tomorrow only, and limited to the first 20,000 to add it to their deals list.

I'm going to wait for next week in hopes that the upcoming preorder card deal will apply to Destiny, but for tomorrow only anybody that did the Ghosts/etc trade-in last week for $20 and 20% off Destiny may be interested in the extra 10% off.

$60 Destiny

$42 after 30% off

$22 after $20 GC from Ghosts TIV.

Might be something to consider for some of you.

Fuuuuuck. I apparently had a Destiny PS3 copy ordered from Amazon. No idea why. Now I have to cancel it and return it and they're going to charge me like $4. Assholes.

This is why I hate that Amazon doesn't send out some sort of reminder before something you may have preordered is released. There have been times where I preordered something at an attractive price point months in advance but forgot about it.

If it's being delivered via UPS and is the only thing being shipped, you can refuse the package at delivery so UPS sends it back to Amazon, it will be processed as a return, and you won't be charged the restocking fee. Otherwise you're out that ~$4.

I am not sure I ever used the wrench. I got the guitar early on and pretty much exclusively used it.

The gameplay is a bit thin, but I really had fun playing it.

seriously you guys are dicks for comparing deadly premonition to re4. I'm trying not to buy it.
People compare DP to RE because they're both over-the-shoulder horror games. That's pretty much where the comparison should stop.

Here.... Deadly Premonition is to Resident Evil 4, as Rage is to Fallout 3. That outta help; although I cringed a little typing it out.

thanks. I just bought it after watching some of it on the youtube. it looks pretty amazing and more or less exactly how everyone described.

I have a non-powered version of that Nyko Powergrip (I believe it's some other company, but it looks identical, just no battery). I don't use my Vita without it. It's so much better. Unfortunately you still can't power the Vita while it is on, but mostly I don't mind that. If I play it until it's dead, I should stop. That one that Tyler posted looks like it would barely make any difference, but I guess if you have small hands it would probably be adequate.

You might have pre-ordered only to gain access to the beta? A lot of people did that and cancelled immediately afterwards. The Gods frown upon your shifty CAG ways.

In better news, Amazon just shipped my Wii U pro controllers so I'm pretty happy. :)

"Controllers" as in more than one? I thought Amazon only allowed one for everyone who got in on the $9.99 price, canceling the additional orders.

[RE4] is seriously the most immediate comparison I made when first playing it.

You guys are making no sense. And confusing the hell out of me. The gunplay in RE4 is extremely enjoyable.
