Hmm...I'd say to not ship it until you receive payment, but eBay might mark that against you (unless I'm mistaken).
No, eBay never encourages you to ship before you're payed. That's exactly the opposite of what you're told to do. That wouldn't make any sense at all. If I were him I would ask the buyer to cancel the transaction and re-list it while the hype is still strong.

This reminded me of this time I was in Gamestop, and a guy came back to return a game. Can't remember what the game was. Walks up to the counter with the manager at the register and says "I beat this game and didn't like it, so I want to return it." Manager refused the return since he told him he beat the game. Is that at the manager's discretion, and did he have the right to do that? Pretty dumb of the customer to mention he finished the game though.

Also, you have to play all the way through a game to see if you like it? LOL.
No--as long as the guy had the receipt and it was within a week of purchasing it, he should have been granted the return. "Did Not Like" is a valid return reason at Gamestop.

my district is run by atilla the hun, I've already been banned once for 'returns' (5 online to store returns) but I'm in the clear again now. if this store has a complete copy though I'll just buy it with a birthday coupon (my actual one!), use it and resell it for +$10.

Looks like I was wrong. Thanks for the correction.

So I should just assume over the next week the thread will be taken over with Destiny talk and who can play through it the fastest?

I love the obsession with playing the game the day or instant it comes out, as if it's going to spoil or get stale like that piece of fruit you took a bite off and dropped behind the couch a week ago.

Sometimes I actually quit playing something after an hour or so because I don't want to rush through it, and I'm trying to make the experience last. Just me?

He argued for a few minutes but eventually left. The manager said he "had seen all the game had to offer, and that he'd make no money if he let everyone return every game they finished."

He's not making this up. When I worked there, that was one of the options in the system. Actually, that was usually the option that we used for a return unless it was a smashed disc or something was broken.

nah, not just you. it's a timing thing this month though.

the v2x stuff was fun to race through (the whole game is about racing through everything). when it comes to destiny or any game that's mp heavy/focused I always feel drawn to play it immediately and to not relent until I feel 'done' because the online community could die any day. that and it's way more fun to jump in when nobody knows anything and you discover it together - try playing an mmo for the first time with 5 year veterans and you'll see the extreme example of why this matters.

Yeah, I know that's their policy, I was just wondering if the manager had the right to refuse a return because he was told the customer finished the game. Didn't seem like he should be able to, just curious.

Critical urgency levels = done. I had apparently not done level 4 perfect, so that was the last one I had to do for that trophy.

It's crazy how easy it is to go backwards like that. Now only about 17-18 levels left!

I cannot stand Gamestop employees with this attitude. That manager takes their job way too seriously.

It might just be that manager being a dick. At the store I worked at, we told people hey if you don't like it, just bring it back within 7 days. Or oh this game is super short, just return it if you finish it. But maybe that was just my store.

Best Buy finally shipped my Destiny LE so thats good news for today.
Better news than last night when I cracked a tooth. Now I got to wait til tomorrow morning to get it fixed. I don't mind going to the dentist its just I hate receiving the bill.

Damn I pulled a Pharmcrest and I'm quoting myself.

I do that sometimes. But more often I just cant play one game for hours on end. My ADD gets the better of me.

This song is for all the new White PS4 owners, I'm still sticking with my black console:

Returns to just about any retail store I ever heard of are at the manager's discretion.  If the manager has sales goals to meet dont you think returns would hurt him/her?

I made it to 30 perfects on Ultra this morning. And I suck because it took me a good hour just to get it in 29 & 30. These last 20 are gonna be a chore aren't they?
You will get some of them on first or second try. I feel like Ultra was way more forgiving than V2 is. For me all V2's levels seem like you have to get them exactly perfect. Every piece of glass, every second counts. I dunno if I can do it.

Here's a ton of free Destiny crap. No idea what any of it does though.

now that I've adjusted to the platforming, it's not totally uncommon for me to have 15-20+ seconds extra on a non critical urgency level (and I've even beat a couple criticals with an extra second or two). so it's not as bad as it seems initially.

everything else is spot on though - every little shard of glass, every survivor, every crystal must be accounted for. but I think that's more like ultra anyways.

Couldn't agree more. Just because it's fall doesn't mean everygoddamnthing has to be pumpkin flavored.

Pumpkin coffee!
Pumpkin licorice!
Pumpkin waffles!
Pumpkin lube!
Generally, yes, pumpkin-flavored anything is god awful. Then I tried Starbucks' pumpkin cream cheese muffin. It's, as wise a man once put it, titties a poppapoppin.

haha, NHL's metacritic is 61...  all release day for Madden EA tweeted good reviews... today they are silent.  Every review said the game play was great... the lack of modes ruined the game, great job EA

EA does this same song and dance every new console. The first iteration of a sports franchise is always missing a mode that was standard in the prior console generation. It is either incompetence or someone thinks this is the way to make people want the next year's game even more but they know people will still buy this one too?

It's officially going to be very difficult for me to perfect these last 9 or so levels and grind out the last awards for VU
