6 of 9 down in Assassin's Creed and now tedium is beginning to set in, not bad considering this game is 7 years old, it must have held more interest in 2007 before games with more varied gameplay came out. I am still liking the cities quite a bit, the early districts are a suitable, hodge podge mess because they are the poorer districts. You move onto richer districts and there is more open space, more elaborate / distinctive architecture, and more guard checkpoints to figure out how to circumvent.

Guards on the roof (so far) are generally only a problem when running away after killing an assassination target as they spoil finding a place to hide on the roof. In normal play rather than raising their alarm, they will draw their bow and try to strike you with an arrow if you don't get off the roof. When their bow is drawn you just have to sprint at them and then press square with your hidden blade, they won't have time to switch to their sword and you'll pounce on them and plunge your hidden blade into their chest. Or you can simply lock on from a distance and toss a throwing knife into their throat. It's also fun to get in a fight with them, immediately grab them, and then press toward the ledge with the stick to throw them to their death. That is a surprisingly quick way to get rid of a lot of guards who have followed you up on top of a high roof. Grab, chuck, grab, chuck, grab, chuck...huge success.

If they had taken a more Hitman-like approach to the assassination targets I think that would have helped break up the monotony quite a bit as even later targets guarded in fortresses it basically boils down to avoid / kill the guards along the way, sword or hidden blade the target and then the guards in the area freak out and attack you. On one I tried scaling the wall instead of using the main entrance and then killing all the archers in the parapet and climbing down undetected to get in striking distance with a throwing knife, but knives (which kill everyone else in one hit) don't kill assassination targets. I would have loved to have the option to employ some more difficult agent 47-ish moves to kill them stealthily or make it look like an accident.

The other thing that annoys me, despite downloading the entire game off the disc and installing it like a downloadable title, I still must have the Revelations disc in the drive to play it. With a disc in the drive it defaults to highlighting it so every time I want to play I have to scroll down past all my PSP bubbles and launch it from my PSN folder. If there was no disc in the drive it would start at the bottom of the list. I wish selecting the 2nd disc (the one used to install the game) let you launch the game from there once it has been installed.

Also, I figured out halfway through that the 250-ish collectable flags are meaningless, WTF? You got an achievement for collecting them in the Xbox version but they don't actually do anything in-game. At least completing side missions eventually increase your HP bar.

GTAV will probably sell well, but it's not a new game. Neither game is even slightly in the same genre as WWE 2K15. I don't think it'll hurt it much.
I have these $60 here to spend, but these $ are genre dollars! Can't buy anything else but WWE 2K15 with these $60 rassling monies. Poor GTA V.

I get what you're saying about rare drops, but with Diablo you're still constantly getting loot. Even if it'll be obsolete in 30 minutes, lol, you're getting the chance to play with new shit. It adds novelty and replayability to the experience. It beats doing some long ass mission in Destiny only to end up with nothing. I guess there's an argument to be made that it amounts to the same thing, but I prefer the former.
Diablo is great at upgrading you as you progress, though breaking out of Torment 3 proves grindtastic. Destiny is a good game, great even sometimes. But whoever thought of implementing 6 types of currencies and missions which "may" end up giving you, out of a max of TWO ITEMS, nothing, deserves to burn in hell.

Huh. That sucks. That's why I skipped 1--I thought the MC was the same in 2 and 3, but some other guy in the first. :(

How did you like Mercenaries?

Also, more TGS stuff leaked, including that RE:R2 is going to be on Vita.

That would be great if it comes to Vita. I suspect we'll start to see some more Japanese company support since PSP is finally dead and handhelds are more popular there.

Does everyone think GTA V for PS4 will be $30 or less by Christmas? I want to pick it up but have enough games with Destiny, Borderlands The Pre Sequel and FC4. I can easily wait till then to play GTA V. I have BB Gamer Club so it costs me about $51 with tax and $10 cert in 2 weeks.

the next opportunity you'll have to get it as cheap as gcu + rz cert will probably be a 44.99 sale at black friday with gcu (i.e. close to the same). the first few months of the year have been sparse as far as holiday release deals so I wouldn't expect another opportunity until May/June of '15.

I plan on buying GTA 5 with GCU.  $47.99 with $10 cert makes it worth it.  I will probably play it a month and then unless something unexpected happens I am willing to bet it will still fetch a decent price at or near what I paid for it.

yea GTA V has held it's trade value or resell value to this day!

Some fucking retard ordered my Resistance that I had on Amazon last night. Just now he emails me asking if it was shipped out yet and why I haven't given any info. What a friggen impatient turd this guy is.

I will probably pick up GTA V and FC4 then since both have $10 rz certs and hold off till Black Friday for Borderlands. FC4 you also get the limited edition if you pre order. The guy I would play Borderlands with likely is going to wait till it is on sale anyway and there is no $10 rz cert.

Is it just me or is Batman Arkham City not that long story wise? I feel like I just started but I looked to see how far through the story I was and it seems like I'm already a third of the way through. I realize there is a lot more content (side missions etc.) but I haven't strayed too much yet.

damn i just found out you can only have 1 exotic weapon and 1 exotic armor equipped at a time. What am i gonna do with all these golds I have? lol

Probably one Perfect is all I'll be getting in Velocity 2X. I can nab all the  scientists and crystals my first time around but I'm way off on the times.

And I'm not going back and tearing my hair out over a few seconds or an accidental death.

As soon as I saw socks and football I got really excited because it meant I got to skip 15 pages of bullshit.

Where'd you get all of them?

It's like 70% side mission padding and 30% story. Some of the side missions are worth doing early, like the augmented reality training ones, because they unlock new bat gadgets. Getting all the collectables is a pretty long grind so I would recommend stopping doing story missions periodically to hunt for some Riddler trophies or doing one of the other side missions rather than having to do all of it after you finish the story missions. The extra XP will also help you level up your character faster.
