Does anyone's taco bell actually have that mountain dew sangrita blast? All of mine have signs for it, but none of them actually have it. I want to try it.
Yeah mine has it. I only took a sip but I didn't particularly care for it. And if I'm at Taco Bell, the only thing I'll be drinking is the nectar of the the gods, Baja Blast, while I'm there.

Damn, I wish I listened to the warnings. Somehow I signed a contract with a non-compete clause so if I get another job, I can be sued. I guess I'm stuck selling the yellow pages door to door for the next 4 years.

Good call on having a novice division in the Spelunky tournament. Is there a bug with the mobile view or did you set the poll private?
Thanks. Yeah, when I was playing the daily challenges last night to figure out the the time change, it hit me how much of an unfair advantage you, me, ugly, ender (who's not playing because he's an awful person), and Synco (is that his name) will have since we've played the shit out of it. So I figured a novice division would make it so those unfamiliar with the game would still have a fair shake and actually want to enter.

11 entrants so far, I'm pretty happy with that number. I am especially excited to see Pete's impressions of the game/daily challenge, but several of the newer players should make for some very enjoyable posts filled with Spelunky hate.

I would have participated in the Spelunky challenge but I finally hired a lawyer to start the divorce process real official like.  I dont know if I am going to feel like or have time to play any games for a while.

It's not my fault man. Isaac has taken control of me. I can't stop

My friend in Maryland got back to me pretty quickly. He gave me a great list of locally available Russian Imperial Stouts. I have had most and they are very good. The issue is, I do not think any of them are really as thick as the Big Bad Baptist that Tyler had.

North Coast Old Rasputin

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout
Thirsty Dog Siberian Night
Goose Island Bourbon County Stout
Big Bear Black Stout
Leinenkugel Big Eddy
Any of the Southern Tier diabetes beers
Duck-Rabbit RIS (seasonal)
Great Lakes Blackout Stout (although they may only be in VA)
Stone IRS
Smuttynose RIS
Great Divide Yeti
The best beer on that list is Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, however, it is probably also going to be the hardest to get your hands on. If it is like it is here, it disappears before hitting shelves. There is usually a list of people at a store and they get whatever happens to come in.

The thickest beers on there are the Southern Tier diabetes beers as he calls them. Their names are Choklat, Mokah, and Creme Brulee. The last one literally tastes like Creme Brulee and is cloyingly sweet. About 2 oz of it is all I can drink and it comes in a 22 oz bottle. Choklat and Mokah are what you would expect by their names. One tastes like dark chocolate and the other tastes like coffee. They are all over the top and seem like more of a gimmick to me. Too bad they do not make Oat anymore. It was made with Oatmeal and was the thickest of the bunch. It also was not overbearingly sweet like those.

Out of the rest, Siberian Night probably is the best. It is really heavy on the roasty flavors. Some people are put off by that.

That list of beers is in general pretty well distributed in case others are interested in giving any of them a try.

I am on Android so maybe that is why. It hasn't worked in months maybe not ever for me.
Ahh that makes sense. They don't update the app nearly as much as they should. Sigs used to work in it, but then stopped. They say the forum owner can disable them, but I don't know if I believe that Cheapy flipped a switch one day to turn them off.

Ugh. I keep rooting for you to get divorced (lol that sounds bad) and you do it the week of the Spelunky challenge? What the eff, man?

I've had Old Rasputin, but only in the form of a "russian car bomb". It worked for that. I will see if I can find some Goose Island Bourbon County Stout or Siberian Night. Thanks!

It's Friday, people! I have to clean the house tonight, though, because some friends are coming over tomorrow afternoon and we have to fool them into thinking we are cleanly. Going to be playing some board games. Yeah!

Didn't see any mention here, but the GCU deal is even cheaper now if you can find this 2.99 phone. It's their DotD. I bet the people who got it for $6.99 feel dumb, right, crunchewy?
Holy shit. I haven't done it yet and they have these in stock at the local best buy. Now if I can just manage to find some time to run by there tonight….

No, wait. It says pick it up at that store, but next to it it says "unavailable". :( Oh well, I guess I stick to that $6.99 deal.

It's first Best Buy Rewards number, then phone, then GCU card. Right?
didn't matter for me, the guy scanned phone, picked no plan, scanned gcu, scanned the phone again, picked no plan again, scanned my bby card, scanned gcu, took my email address and then my bby card again. or that's what it seemed like, he was a little flustered..

watching a let's starve youtube gameplay video to fill myself with vicious ire in prep for playing spelunky tonight. it's a series of 33 20 minute gameplay videos watching someone hunt for catcoons and being a werebeaver or something. god it's terrible. guy seems cool though, he just has awful awful tastes in games. like all of you.

let it be known that my 'bugles' escapade is finally at an end and I did not succeed. fate has different plans it seems.

spoilered for uninteresting and personal journalness
after starting this whole thing in July and going through (I think) somewhere around a dozen interviews plus a trip to california and a handful of bugles hangouts with fancy managers I think I'm actually glad to be done. I'd rather the whole thing ended differently, but I reckon it just wasn't meant to be.

the process is soooo agonizingly long. the thing that's frustrating is that if it were up to the people I interviewed with and the hiring committee I would've been in. however there's an 'executive committee' made up of VPs that review all this stuff before making an offer and apparently for both jobs they gave the thumbs down, primarily because I've only worked in a smaller environment for the past 14 years (500-600 people, only a couple physical locations) and they didn't think I could hang with the enormity of bugles. while I'm sure I could, it's not a totally unreasonable concern.

so, disappointed but at peace. now to figure out what's next.

I think I'll rub the scalps of some hatsune miku vocaloids for trophies to cheer me up. they're always so damn happy.
From the sounds of it, you'll be better off in the long run.

Don't practice too much or we'll bump your ass up to the expert level!

WKU mascot.

The Hilltoppers.

That looks like if someone skinned Grimace, dyed his fur red, and sewed it into a mascot suit worn by a skinny killer named McDonald "Put the Sweet n' Sour sauce in the basket" McCoy.

A few months ago I could never have predicted that we'd have a Spelunky tournament. Not in a million years. I'm reeling a bit.
