Sorry I missed this earlier.

I'm not sure when I'll be starting it. I want to work on my backlog a bit (Tales of Hearts R releasing on Tuesday definitely doesn't help with that :bomb:), plus I'll be participating in the Novice Division for the Spelunky Daily Challenge.

Shadows of Mordor has been the top of my Q since release and has been low the entire time. Congrats on having them send you that one.

I'd be against that. I want to take my time with ToHR, like how Tyler said he didn't think Dust (which I also need to play sometime soon :joystick:) would be a good game for the contest because he wanted new players to enjoy it at their own pace.

SoM is definitely great fun, though, and I highly recommend it.

It's ridiculous how many games are coming out the next two months that I need to play. My plan of winning the lottery, quitting my job and playing games full time hasn't materialized like I was hoping it would.

 
So this Spelunky game isn't all that bad. Granted, I've only died once so far (on Mine 1-3), so I'm sure there's plenty of time for me to hate it later.

 
So due to this hard drive debacle, I will now finally be subscribing to PS plus. The 20 hours of my time I lost last night is worth much more than $50.

The only decision I have to make is this: I get a $25 Walmart gift card for each month of perfect attendance at work. I have like $25 currently in my PSN wallet. I may just use that to go with a 3 month sub, and take the gift cards I earn during that time to get a year.

Peace of mind plus having First Light and Injustice PS4 waiting for me will make the first sub worth it already in my mind.

Unless you have 0 available cash at the moment, I think a 3 month sub is an absolutely terrible idea. The cost per month is just way too high compared to the yearly sub.

You're right, I was just trying to avoid using my PS4 fund. I can always put it back when I get those gift cards, though.

 
Alright PSNOT, what Vita game should I concentrate on and try to knock off my list next.

- Uncharted GA (already beat, but want to beat on Crushing)
- Metal Gear Solid 2 (beat numerous times on PS2, but am big fanboy)
- Borderlands 2
- Guacamelee
- Rayman Legends
- Killzone Mercenary
- Batman Blackgate
- Sly 1
- Final Fantasy X
- Persona 4 Golden
- Assassins Creed Liberation

About time man, Plus is fantastic, even if the quality of games has come down a little lately.

What's this about Infamous FL and Injustice? Are they confirmed as Decembers games?
 
Backlog, unless you want any of the games this month (which I doubt), I would consider just waiting until next month to sign up anyway.  I know you are a bit gun shy from the crash, but I would play some of the quicker games you have and backup to USB every night until then.  If you want to jump back in to Okami and Lego Batman immediately though, it might be worth the peace of mind.

Not to mention it will drop to at least $40 for Black Friday and you can get it online with no having to set foot in store.

Yeah the plan is to jump right back into those games. I was so disgusted by it that I'm not sure I'll ever go back to Okami if I don't start it back up immediately.

Plus it froze upon loading our LEGO Batman 2 save earlier the first time I tried to play a game after swapping hard drives, so I'm not 100% sure it's a hard drive issue. Ran perfectly through 2 hours of gameplay after that though.

Oh and if that "stupid mouth charge attack" was brimstone, then that is one of the best items if you have decent damage. If it was Monstro's Lung then yeah, pretty bad.

It was monstro's lung, yeah ugh. Yeah i must have got crazy lucky. After playing a few more times, I realize I had 2 or 3 really good items I can't seem to get back. I had some yellow fear shot that made enemies run away and I had some baby monster that kept giving me dark hearts. I had a bunch of random stuff I dont know what it did, but yeah that yellow fear shot and heart monster helped a bunch. n yeah I know you have to keep beating it and beating it, but still for my first run I kicked butt. My girl was working out and I had my vita and was just gonna try it for a min but got hooked.

also my buddies and I made it to round 130 or something crazy after 3 hours and then just got bored and died on purpose. The toughest part of the game is always the first few rounds. I actually triggered some crazy glitch that let me have infinite energy on my rippable laser turret, but I couldn't call in any more killstreaks after that. Good times but im totally done with that mode now!

I really don't like Monstro's Lung. I think it might synergize well with some other stuff though. Dark Bum is crazy OP. I think they lowered the rate he exchanges a bit now because it was about a 1 to 1 pay out from red hearts to soul hearts. I think it's less often with the patch that just went out. Even so, those aren't items that guarantee a win at all, so congrats on pulling it off!

 
Not sure whether to interpret this and beating Yama / getting Big Money as:

(A) My Spelunky skills are top-notch and it bodes well for the upcoming contest,

or

(B) I've used up all my good fortune in Spelunky for one lifetime, and will fail horribly.   lol       :D

I care in that I'm unhappy to hear it. Though admittedly that's mostly because it's a fucking lie that this series has anything to do with the Bourne books. I'd have liked the movies a lot more if they hadn't claimed to be something they weren't. Just change the character name and be done with it if you're not going to use the source material at all. :wall:

Most of these are multi-plat. Any reason you want to play them on Vita specifically? BL2 is better on PS3 (and was on PS+), and AC:L has a really shitty MP component on Vita that was removed for the HD version. Sly is supposed to be a really good port, though I played it on PS3 and it's definitely aged well. FFX and P4G are both really good.

Also KZ:M is a really good FPS especially for handheld.

A challenge, but nothing too bad. I would recommend doing a normal playthrough and get all the upgrades and sidequests in that playthrough so that you can just focus on fightning in the hard playthrough. By the time you finish normal you will be really good at offense so that you can spend the hard playthrough just focusing on mastering defense.
