Still hoping by some slim chance Sonic Adventure 2 has Online......
Come to think of it, it seems to me that there's a good chance it will.

PimpLimp's link shows that Sega is describing these Dreamcast releases as their "Heritage Collection," and remember that Sega put in a lot of effort in improving their Genesis games that they re-released on PSN, which also sported a trendy name (was it "Genesis Collection" or "Classics Collection"? can't remember), and those all had online play + trophies. Even Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has online play for its versus mode. :)
hmm the controls on spelunky seem pretty loose, hopefully I will get used to it
Spelunker isn't a easy game. I'm still getting used to the controls. The hardest part is climbing the ropes if you don't use rope assist. I can see getting plenty of value out of the game plus the DLC. Reminds me of old days of games with no hand holding. Turn on the classic look to really take you back.

I thought you were saying SMB was an example of a hard game that didn't control well.

Ya Super Meat Boy controls flawlessly. As for Spelunker, turning on rope assist is a no brainer. It takes out the single cheapest part of the game.

Good game worthless update and my regret over the purchase of the PS+ card continues to grow.

lol

Burning Rangers, HD or not, would be awesome to have on PSN/XBLA. I've wanted to try that game ever since I heard of it & its theme song.

Totally looking forward to JSR, NiGHTS, & SA2, though I'll be getting them on XBLA since I'm sure Sega will have avatar awards for them (I know they do for JSR), but I'll get JSR for Vita once that's on sale.

I don't think you need the DLC to platinum the game, I just got my Plat and didn't finish all the DLC. I think I have 82% of the trophies.

So if you are a PS Plus member you can basically get the Borderlands GOTY for $10? That's a pretty sweet deal. I already have the Xbox GOTY but very tempted to get the DLC for PS3 anyway. It's an awesome game.

(yes, I realize you don't get to keep the base game if you cancel the PS Plus subscription)

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you never need to purchase DLC to platinum any game.
Nice. I loved SA2 on the Gamecube so I'm definitely getting this. People give the post-Genesis Sonic titles a lot of grief, but SA2 was actually pretty fun and varied. Ahhh, the chao garden...so much to do in this game.
I too have fond memories of Sonic Adventures. IMO SA2 was the last decent/good Sonic game on consoles. I haven't play Sonic Generations yet but pretty much every other Sonic game since SA2 has just been a hot steaming pile of garbage.

And graffiti, amirite?! Lol, we used to have a kid at the park who was insane doing misty flips off the quarter without a helmet. He was the only fruitbooter we skateboarders respected there heh.
This is wrong. You need to purchase DLC to get 100% in a game. While all you have to do is complete the original trophy list to get the platinum.
He's not wrong and what you just said negated your original statement. Getting 100% and getting a platinum are two different things. You can get a platinum without ever touching the DLC.

I'll just edit that response out then as I was wrong and was in fact agreeing with him.
So if you are a PS Plus member you can basically get the Borderlands GOTY for $10?
The $4.99 listed price for all four DLC packs are after the 50% discount is applied. So you'd be paying $20 for a mock GOTY edition.

You should really play Generations. The City Escape remake level brought a tear to my eye. It is the best Sonic game since the Dreamcast era

Plus the soundtrack is just amazing
I platinumed Spelunker without rope assist, it's definitely not necessary.
Agree. The touchy controls when on ropes and ladders are all part of the game's style. Not every old school platforming game was designed to play like Mario, but I think people forget that these days. Embrace the unique challenge that is Spelunker!
I platinumed Spelunker without rope assist, it's definitely not necessary.
I couldn't get use to the roping so I had to put on assist. I tried w/o it first but felt odd. I would always fall off. Can't say I didn't try. Maybe I will try it again and see if I can improve.

I agree with both of you guys. Sonic Adventure 2 is an excellent game, and all other console Sonic titles after that are pretty much crap until Sonic Generations. So I second Dgwillia006's suggestion that you should try Sonic Generations; it will redeem console Sonic for you, PimpLimp.

On an unrelated note.. I opened my mailbox today and found a GameFly rental of Rayman Origins. This would be normal, except that I don't have a GameFly subscription (nor a trial for months), and I already have Rayman Origins so there's no reason I'd rent it even if I did. o_O No idea why this was sent to me...

edit: Oh, looks like I have an old account I created and they just now decided my trial was ok, when before they rejected me for already having used a trial at this address. Weird.
Double Dragon Neon free for plus this month :D
Possibly next week, as the XBLA version hits the 12th, so I assume PSN will get it the day before. Now I just need to find a friend who'll get it on PSN so I can do co-op with them.

Double Dragon Neon will be like most other co-op games on psn. For the first month there will be a lot of people online playing.

Then it will die down a bit

Then there will be 1 person playing it online once every leap year(like gunstar heroes :( )

Is the new Dougle Dragon Neon a remake of the original? Or is it a new game entirely? I have fond memories of the original, and really every NES game I ever played.

It's a 3D remake of the original. The graphics doesn't look all that good but some reviewers say it's a fun game.
It's a 3D remake of the original. The graphics doesn't look all that good but some reviewers say it's a fun game.
Its not a remake at all.

I would just like to point out that one of the achievements/trophies is a reference to The Wizard, called "You Did What!?" to which you have to earn 50,000 points. Now that's nostalgia for ya & an example of how the game's kind of embracing the late '80s/early '90s to which the game came out/was popular, which would explain the "Neon" subtitle.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the DLC bundle pack will also be on sale for half price, or $10.

Generations was good but I think I liked Colors a bit more.

If you want Zen Pinball and its DLC tables to play for its trophies while also getting those tables in Zen Pinball 2, you better buy them now since they will be pulling them with the update today. Marvel Pinball and its DLC will still be around.

The ZP1 DLC tables are Earth Defense, Epic Quest, Excalibur, Mars, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Paranormal Sorcerer's Lair, and Street Fighter II Tribute.

aw man was thinking of getting zen 1 but won't get home till later.
so is zen 2 free even if you didn't buy 1 or do I need to buy it?

It's completely free, but if you don't own Zen or Marvel Pinball or any of their DLC tables, you'll need to pay for them as Zen Pinball 2 DLC. The only things you'll have access to are trials for each of those tables.

oh okay I guess I can just see if I like zen 2 first then get the other tables.
thanks :D

What is the logic behind leaving Marvel Pinball on the store? Those games are also going to be meshed into ZP2, aren't they? Maybe I am missing something here...
Could be a license thing that requires it be available as a separate game.
I would doubt it, since it's not a separate game on the Xbox 360 -- it's all DLC for Pinball FX2.
Could be a license thing that requires it be available as a separate game.
Seems probable. Maybe it will disappear in the next year or so.
