fuck you $40 for NLKS. MAYBE for a full release, but for a downloadable game, I'll wait for it to drop to $20. Disappointed in that price.

Playstation mobile is now live on the Vita!

These are the games so far:

Frederic – Resurrection of Music ($3.99)
Loot The Land ($3.99)
incurvio ($7.49)
Wipe! ($1.49)
Magic Arrows ($4.99)
Everbody’s Arcade (Free trial)
Underline ($2.79)
Nyoqix ($5.49)
Numblast ($2.99)
Super Crate Box ($3.49)
Aqua Kitty – Milk Mine Defender ($3.49)
Flick Hockey ($2.29)
Word Blocked ($1.99)
Rebel ($1.99)
Tractor Trails ($2.29)
Hungry Giraffe ($2.99)
Beats Slider ($0.79)
Fuel Tiracas ($0.49)
Twist Pilot ($3.49)
Samurai Beatdown ($0.99)
Beats Trellis ($0.79)

I'll definitely be getting Super Crate Box, playing it on a touch screen device sucked.
Started implementing the colored asterisk system in the OP for basic things like what's new this week, ending next week, and permanent price drops. Let me know what you think.
I really like it.

Samurai Beatdown looks like an interesting game for only a dollar. Anyone have some opinions on it?

& from what I'm hearing, PS Mobile games will have trophy & leaderboard support added sometime in the future.

While Vita's Silent Hill looks like Silent Hill meets Dungeon Hunter Alliance, it's not as Ultra-HORRID as some of the preview vids made it look. I think I might get it when it hits $10 or less.

the PSN version of Terraria will have new content after all, they haven't mentioned what it is yet though, now if only the game would come to the Vita

Woah! Alex Kidd for a buck?! AND it has trophies? SWEET!!

Before I drop the dollar, does this separate Alex Kidd download mean PS3 didn't get the 3 game compilations that are on XBLA? I don't want to buy it twice on PS3 (unless it has separate trophy lists of course :D) because I'm perfectly content buying the 3 pack if it's available.

The new little king's story has horrible english dubbing, but good thing you rarely hear some one talking.
(seems like voice actor doesn't know english or doesn't know how to act)
Also it has some what significant flame drop.

however, even with these flaws I will recommend this game.
well worth 39.99, one of best Vita game I ever played.

Its very addictive and just FUN,
this is fun to play, I hardly find games THAT is fun to play.
Graphic is Beautiful too

This was way better than my expectation.
Just played 5-6 hours straight.

Hey Chrono, don't see you much in this thread.

You're correct, the first two XBLA 3-packs (Super HangOn/Alex Kidd/Shinobi and the Monster World Games) were all released as seperate games on PSN for $5 each.

Here's the update in May where they were all released.
any recommendations from someone who has played tokyo jungle a good bit?
I'm also curious to hear firsthand impressions. Really can't decide if this is for me or not, and there's no demo.

And I really appreciate the asterisk system, I've always found the expiration system to be somewhat vague, dare I say hidden, perhaps not to draw attention to content disappearing.

I remember when netflix stopped showing movies that were being removed from Instant Streaming, for what I can only assume was the same reason.

Sweet. I'm in. Yea, PSN has been terribly slow for games I'm interested in lately. Alex Kidd is now the first thing I've bought in probably 6 months or more. I still download all the PS+ freebies but for the most part I really only pay attention to PS exclusives. Though I did boot up Double Dragon and play it for a few minutes. I don't see why people are hating on it. It's exactly like it was 20 years ago. If you didn't like it then, why would you now? I had a lot of fun and will probably come back to it again soon.

Last year I made the grade for the spend $100 get $20 back and then some, but seeing as it's been so dry lately and I've only got about $85 in credit I bought discounted, I don't see myself hitting it this year. Even if I bought a year of PS+ to take out half of the requirement. But you never know, they could have something interesting go on sale. The month has only just begun after all.

Okami HD, while not technically a PS exclusive, is definitely something I'm looking forward to.

That being said, I bought one of those PS+ ebay codes over the summer so I have no need to get another year, so I won't be participating in the spend $100 get $20 back promo.

Here's a quicklook from Giantbomb http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-tokyo-jungle/17-6591/ they gives a pretty good overview of the game and two of the animals you can use.

In for Sonic Adventure 2 + DLC, NiGHTs, and Alex Kidd this week. :)

I tried out NFL Blitz, and wow, this was not anywhere near as fun as I remember the originals being.. but maybe it's just the removal of late hits that's killing me.

This incarnation of NFL Blitz is still a fun game, but I too don't find it nearly as enjoyable as the older versions. No late hits definitely sucks. Funny how a completely meaningless part of the game could bother so many people.

Eh, I think it's just people letting something small that they remember get blown out of proportion so now the game is not fun anymore. It's not like late hits were the only thing that made the past NFL Blitz games fun. I'm sure it added to it, but was it really that significant? If this new game really isn't as fun as previous games, it's probably due to fundamental gameplay issues, or maybe your tastes have changed with age.

It's just like people who said the changing of the Crazy Taxi soundtrack ruined the game. Really? Is that what made the whole game fun? The soundtrack? It's just over-reacting, whether intentional or subconscious.

As for needing help towards the spend $100 promo, don't forget about that Montezuma crystal pack!

Yeah, it's definitely not the only thing that makes this game not as fun as earlier ones in my mind. I think a lot of it has to do with a change in tastes like you mentioned. But it's still a good game and everyone with PS+ should download it and check it out.

And oh shit, I almost forgot. I can stock up on 2,000,000 crystals for $140 and then get $20 back!!! I'm set now!

Just in case any vita owners out there didn't notice. Castlevania symphony of the night is finally compatible with the vita. It's not available in the ps store yet, but if you already purchased it, it will appear in your download list. It's nice to have this game on a handheld.

Dracula X Chronicles on PSP has sotn built in, don't forget. Great game. I had it on UMD and am waiting for a price drop. I'd love to play sotn again tho.

It's been compatible for the vita since they released the psone patch. You just had to download it to the ps3 and transfer it.

How do you guys feel about the Assassin's creed 3 bundle for $119?

The Gold edition ($89) + The Vita Game ($40) + the season pass (free?)

That is a great deal and i absolutely have the space for it. It's just i never bought a major release as digital

I have both games pre-ordered at gamestop for about the same price. Physical copies.

With the buy $100 get $20 back deal going on it makes the bundle look even better than it already is.

Any thoughts? Opinions?

I was considering this, but... isn't the Gold edition just plus the season pass? Is there anything else to it? And if so, and further supposing that the Gold editions extra 20 bucks isn't a discount over the regular season pass, that would mean this bundle has no discount, right? Please do set me straight if this isn't correct, I'll be glad to know the facts for sure.

I posted this in another thread in response to exopuppy's similar question:

(my reply):
The interest is how unique and different it is. Very surprising they brought this over from Japan. I can only play so many FPS and RPG games after years of gaming and countless entries. Something cool about it to me. Post apocalyptic setting that doesn't involve zombies. Zombies are way over done in every type of media these days though too. With that said, I'm currently playing shadows odd the damned, never dead, lollipop chainsaw, and Tokyo jungle. I bought battlefield and got in on the free premier upgrade, yet I enjoy these new IP's for their originality and trying something a but different.

Trying to see how many years you can get your animal to survive is addicting too; 30 years...I'm doing pretty good, 45 years...alright time to top that, 60 years....sweet lets go for 100!!

You would be something of a sucker, honestly. Assassin Creed games release really close to black friday and typically get discounted within a week or two. Within a year we saw Revelations drop from 60 dollars to 20 constantly and ultimately 10 with the original game at best buy. Also a lot of people forget that Season Passes are a huge risk. Usually you don't know what you're getting and sometimes it can bite you in the ass. These could just be online maps or maybe 1 story part and 3 online map packs, hard to say, but not worth paying that much for so little.

Ugh man, I'm so conflicted on that spend $100, get $20 credit deal for Oct on the PS Store. On the one hand, there is definitely $100 worth of games on the PS Store that I would like to get and haven't gotten yet because I don't think I'd play them immediately and keep hoping there will be a sale. Plus with Okami HD coming out at the end of Oct, it would be awesome to grab that since I've only played it with the fucking horrible drawing control port to motion controls on the Wii but loved the game otherwise. And I've played the PS2 version on my friend's post-game save file so I know that the original controls are WAY better than the motion controls, which made the game so much more enjoyable without getting frustrated with it for interpreting the wrong drawing or no drawing at all. :)

On the other hand, money is getting tighter and tighter, which I don't see changing anytime soon. So while I could easily afford to drop the $100 this month, that may put me $100 closer to be dead broke in 6 months or so if things don't change. Man I don't know what to do but knowing me, I'll probably spend the money anyway. :fridge:

Unless you have a major purchase to make, like $50 to renew PS+, I don't think it's all that great of a deal. Anyone with a backlog (like me) would be well served to just wait for the games to be half off (or maybe even free), since this is basically just a 20% off deal. Because of my backlog, I never let myself buy anything for just 20% off unless I know it will play it right away.

Has anyone here used the data transfer utility and ethernet cable with two ps3s? It has taken me 12 hrs so far and the status bar shows 83%. That's messed up. I'm only transferring about 110 gb to a new 160 gb ps3.

I have to leave for class soon. Can I just leave everything running until I get home later this afternoon?

You should be safe if you just leave it running. The PS3 uses 5400 RPM hard drives which can be painfully slow. It might not only be transferring your software but also going through the process of installing it as well which would only add to the amount of time.
No way Im spending 39.99 on new little kings story. A PSN only release shouldnt be more than 14.99 or 19.99 at most.
I bought it to support the game since the Wii release sold so poorly, and to support this kind of game on Vita. However, I'm also inadvertently supporting horrendously high prices. Pretty ridiculous.

It definitely takes forever, the estimate is usually way off. When I transferred my stuff from my Phat over to my Slim I thought it was stuck since it stayed at 86% for a long time, but then it shot up to 92%.

The estimate to get 60ish GB transferred was supposedly 1hr 40m but it ended up taking like 3hrs. So yeah just leave it on for awhile.

I had some credit as Play-Asia and thought I pass this along.

You can purchase a retail version of New Little King's Story in English and Region Free from Play-Asia.

New Little King's Story $44.99
There is also free shipping with the purchase.

I was not going to pay $39.99 for a digital release and but I am glad to support and import the retail version.

Yeah, I mean normally I would think exactly the same thing, that 20% off just isn't worth it especially since I generally don't buy much any game for more than 75% off original MSRP unless it's already cheap, 40-70% off and probably not going to get any better. But most of the games I'm looking at are ones that have been up on the PS Store for years and I've never seen a sale on them. And admittedly I may have just missed a sale on a few of them since I tended not to check the PSN deals every single week until about 1.5 - 2 years ago. But I definitely haven't seen them on sale since then.

And yeah, there's also the fact that while I might play a few of the games that I want fairly soon or immediately, I probably wouldn't play most of them for awhile due to my insane backlog. :whistle2:? But just from my observations, I don't tend to see many sales over 50% off or permanent price drops for digital only content on the PS Store except on already cheap games and/or games I couldn't give a crap less about. As far as digital downloads for games that are available on disc, screw that sh*. I'm already on the verge of needing a new HDD for my PS3 and I've never seen a disc game that's available for download where it's cheaper on the PS Store. There's always a sale or just regular price on disc games that's cheaper than a sale or regular price on the PS Store at any given time.

So like I said, normally I would absolutely agree with you; but for the games I'm looking at it's a little different. I definitely will be waiting throughout Oct to see if there are any weekly deals on the games I'm thinking about and otherwise not buy anything until the PS Store is updated on Oct 30. But I'm still not sure if I'll do it given my increasing monetary restrictions and also the "only 20% off" thinking that keeps grinding on my mind.

I didn't say good, either. :p I'm letting it replace my RE6 purchase because after the demo I decided to wait and let that drop to 20 before buying it.

BTW this is my first preorder, will it download automatically with plus the same as patches/updates do?

If it's like preordering PSN Play titles in 2011, it's somewhat complex. Simply put, the store will update normally, but you will see the game listed as "Free". Simply buy the "Free" game and you can download it normally. Since they're doing messages now, they might just message you the download code, but I've never seen something just appear in my download list.

Did you delete installs first? If not, that causes the process to take a lot longer than you'd expect.

Since they're doing messages now, they might just message you the download code, but I've never seen something just appear in my download list.
If that's the case then their big Day 1 PR is a poor stunt since the store doesn't normally update until well into the afternoon. And it will be a big download so I likely won't get to play until Wednesday, oh well.

Did anyone here preorder NBA 2K13, who can say how it went?

I might be one of the few people who still uses the Comic Book section of PSN. I'm also guessing everyone already knows that it will be shutdown before the end of October.

Might try to spend $20-$100 on comics since the comic book section of PSN is shutting down after October 30.

Media Go doesn't seem to be working right for me. Keeps asking me to download an update every time I try to download a purchase.

Edit: Any PSN comic book recommendations? Currently, trying to get all the free comics onto my download history. I won't have time to read/preview any of the freebies until it is too late.

I'm guessing there will be other venues of accessing the big named comic book companies like Archie, DC, Marvel, etc.

I'm trying to find/get all the comics that won't be easily available.

You won't be able to re-download your comics after mid-January. They're completely removing them. Get all the free ones you want, but I certainly wouldn't spend any money on a dead format, especially with scanned comics so prolific on the 'net.

Comics are fucking RIDICULOUSLY overpriced these days. Sometimes even the digital ones too. Most smartphones and tablets have comic book reader apps these days anyways. I'd suggest following the DCP group for all your (illegal) comic book needs :D
What games are you looking at buying?
Here is the stuff I'm thinking about buying:

Mega Man 9 - $9.99
Mega Man 10 - $9.99
Hardcorps: Uprising + Add-On Characters - $22.48
Resident Evil Code: Veronica X HD - $19.99
God Hand - $9.99
Double Dragon Neon - $9.99
Okami HD - $19.99

Total - $102.42

There are other games I want as well; but these are the ones that I see myself playing the soonest out of all the ones I want. I know Mega Man 9 & 10 have been out awhile and I think I might remember there being a sale at some point on 9 at least; but I'm not 100% sure. Hardcorps has only been out about a year and a half now I think; but that's something I'm pretty sure I'd play immediately because I played it some over at my friend's house who owns it, I enjoyed it and he and another friend still play it online. Code Veronica X and God Hand have only been out for around a year I think so I'm a little hesitant on those. I'm even more hesitant with God Hand since they haven't done any price drops on PS2 Classics yet that I know of and since they have with plenty of PS1 Classics I could see that possibly happening at some point. Double Dragon Neon is pretty much brand spanking new but I downloaded it for free with my PS+ trial that ended last Friday, I really enjoyed it and it will be even more fun if/when they release that online co-op patch I heard about. And then with Okami HD, I've been itching to play Okami with its original controls (i.e. not horrible motion controls) for quite sometime so I think that I would play that pretty soon after purchasing.

But anyway like I said before, it's highly probable that I could have missed sales on these before I started checking weekly and still probable even since I started checking weekly, given that I seem have some sort of advanced, mutated super adhd that leads to me just skip right over items in a list way more than I should. 8-[ So if I'm listing stuff that's already been on sale and/or likely to be on sale in the future aside from DDN and Okami, please let me know. Thanks. :)
