Has anyone confirmed that the PS+ 1 year cards don't count as money spent towards the $100?

I'm trying to figure out a way to use the BB @Gamer coupon for $15 off the 1 year card and to somehow count that towards the $100.
Whats wrong with Shank 2 and Double Dragon?! Both are quite fun.
I still play Shank 2 even though it was free and finished 100% on it, it is quite fun, so I see no problem the multiplayer mode is quite fun playing with unknown strangers.

For me I won't post the upcoming games on playstation plus US but more than certain that 1 game will be Red Dead Redemption since Red Dead Redemption was taken out from the European Store from a free game.

So yes that's about it

You can't there is no way it would work either you get some psn cards and credit your wallet with up to 100$ in funds and spends those same funds, or you use your credit card and buy up to 100$ in content, or you use you current wallet which have some funds and spend the rest totaling 100$.

If you are trying to save for getting the 1 year card it will be better if you get the 1 year card on psn and spending 15$ but you will get 5$ back since you will get the 20$ psn card.

Either way it's your decision not mine I'm just giving advice.

Nobody has "confirmed" it per se, but there's really no way that this would work, and the PSN system isn't gonna recognize money coming out of your PSN wallet when you redeem the PS+ card. You can maybe tweet Morgan Haro and ask him, or comment on one of the update posts or something and hope you get an answer.
Why'd you buy these?
Because I wanted them.
Whats wrong with Shank 2 and Double Dragon?! Both are quite fun.
I also enjoy them both. I've been having fun with Klei's new jam Mark of the Ninja, too.

Wow, I just bought KoF13 few weeks ago. Hope I can find my receipt :(

edit: YES! I STILL HAVE MY RECEIPT. THANK YOU BASED SONY/GAMESTOP/LUCK
!!!

If true, that'd be pretty great. But I'll hold my breath until tomorrow.
You could always just look for yourself on PS Blog. That would be a pretty redundant thing to shop anyway.
No idea what KOF is...but most people seem happy so YAY!
One of the best fighting games out there.
so it looks like proanon was the closest with his guess of nothing and nothing getting 1 right
Someone said Something good, I think they should get credit for being the closest, since Plus has offered more bad than good.

maybe they can split the prize then

not fan of KOF or fighting games in general but that is a nice little discount on Derrick the Dethfin was planning to get it at $8 anyways so PS+ just saved me a couple of bucks. I will also pick up Shinobi, for $1 it's a no brainer
Too bad I already platted kof... I will probably pick up shinobi though.
have you gotten any pms from me?

WOW, KoF13 for free? That's pretty neat. Can't wait to try it out.

I heard there was a patch for the game. Anyone know how big it is?

I'm happy for you guys. I can't stand fighting games outside of Mortal Kombat and I'm over that too. Hopefully something down my alley shows up next month.

For the first time I actually almost wasnt allowed to return my game for store credit. She said it HAD to be the same game but the manager was there and said it was cool since im cool with them. lol

Ok I am seeing some kind of pattern in here.

Last week we got Alexx kid in miracle world which is 1$ until tomorrow, this week The Revenge of Shinobi, next weeks you will get if you are a ps plus for only 1$ my guess and predictions either:
Monster World IV ($4.99)
Super Hang-On ($4.99)
Wonder Boy In Monster Land ($4.99)
Wonder Boy In Monster World ($4.99)

So that's about it all of these 1 for 1$ if you are plus, but we both now that these for trophies are the cheapest since even if you can't do it the normal way ppl will use the save system making each trophy super easy.

I'm not sure why they're taking two games down so that one can go up for PS+, but The King of Fighters XIII is the winner for this week. I'll have to go back through the posts to see if anybody guess that, but I'd be surprised with what I saw as of this morning. Also, I noticed that some of you didn't read the entire post on how to enter, so some of you could not have won even if you guesses correctly.

Here's the full post for this week's PS+ update:
Once again, we’re here to brighten your Monday with the weekly update on incoming Plus content this week. So far in October, NFL Blitz joined the Instant Game Collection and Plus members received some discounts on Alex Kidd and Spelunker. This week, please join us in thanking our friends at Atlus for delivering the legendary King of Fighters XIII, free for Plus members! These updates will take effect with the October 9th (that’s tomorrow!) PlayStation Store update.

Don’t have PlayStation Plus? Go to the PlayStation Store on your PS3 or click here to get access.
October 9th PlayStation Plus Update

King of Fighters XIII

Free for PlayStation Plus Members

Select Add-Ons (An additional 30% off the PSN Sale Price)

King of Fighters XIII captured the attention of the fighting game community at this year’s amazingly salty EVO 2012 fighting game tournament. That said, we’re happy to get this deep fighter in to the hands of Plus members everywhere! With tons of play modes, a refined, faster paced engine, over 30 beautifully rendered and animated characters, all with great online play; this is one fighter you won’t want to miss. You’ll also find select Add-ons, including extra characters Mr. Karate, on sale for 30% off the PSN sale price, which is 50% off the regular store price. If you want to see how crazy the game can get, check out the final match in this year’s tournament. Epic stuff.

The Revenge of Shinobi

80% Discount for PlayStation Plus Members (Regular Price: $4.99, PS Plus Price: $1.00)

SEGA’s got more gaming to deliver this week with The Revenge of Shinobi available to Plus members for just $1. The Genesis original holds up with the gameplay and music you remember (as well as the crazy difficulty). With save anywhere capabilities, Trophy support, and graphical touch ups for an HD close-up, it’s an accessible classic that everyone should play.

Derrick the Deathfin (New PSN Release)

30% Discount (Regular Price: $7.99, PS Plus Price: $5.59)

You may have seen the PlayStation.Blog post revealing this PSN exclusive, and Plus members will be able to jump on a release week discount for this unique underwater papercraft action game (yes, that’s accurate). Packing an amazing artistic design, 32 handcrafted levels, and diverse gameplay, it’s a steal at just over $5.

Finally, we’ve got another poll for you. This time, we’re curious to know what you would be most interested to see in PS Plus on PS Vita. The service is scheduled to arrive this November, and we’ll have more concrete information as we lead up to launch. And remember, it’s all one Plus subscription whether you get Plus now, or later. Don’t forget to also rank this post in the upper right corner too; we use all that data.

That’s it for this week. Make sure you check out tomorrow’s PlayStation Store update post to see all the details for this week’s Plus update, and come back next week when we’ll have more great Plus news to share (including another free game for October 16th). See you in the comments, where I’m sure you’ll let us know what you think!

It was confirmed in the comments of the announcement last week that the PS+ cards don't count since they're not adding money to the wallet, so if anybody wants to go that route, get a $50 PSN card and spend that on a 1 year sub in the PS Store.
Do these sales for Shinobi last a week or are they month long?
One week.

Although it isn't mentioned anywhere they will probably last only week like Alexx Kidd is only lasting 1 week aswell.

So and with my guessing and predictions of what has been happenning Sega is trying to sell these for PS Plus so you might watch out for next weeks:
Monster World IV ($4.99)
Super Hang-On ($4.99)
Wonder Boy In Monster Land ($4.99)
Wonder Boy In Monster World ($4.99)

All for 1$ if you will be playstation plus and valid only for 1 week but a week doesn't have 10 days so it's counting down to be 1$ /7 days which is 0,14285714285714285714285714285714 a day.

Not bad.
But this is just pure guessing because of what has been happenning.

I'm happy for you guys. I can't stand fighting games outside of Mortal Kombat and I'm over that too. Hopefully something down my alley shows up next month.

There's still one more PS+ game coming this month, and with KOFXIII coming out of nowhere, it's anyone's guess what it will be.

I was hoping for a PS+ discount on Retro City Rampage or Joe Danger 2, but at least I'll get closer to $100 at full price ;)

Morgan Haro said in the comments that there will be "more games" to talk about next week? Maybe one of the free ones was delayed a week? At least it's a game I don't have, although I don't know when I'll get around to it.

You know, I was up in the air about renewing PS+ at this time just for Alex Kidd for $1 but hey, if I can get Wonder Boy soon, sure why not?

+ announcements are weekly now, so they're probably spreading the freebies out. They said this in the blog comments somewhere last week.

That's why there are no halloween goodies offered, they are saving them for closer to the 31st. Europe is still on monthly announcements, so all their stuff gets announced all at once at the beginning of the month.

This exactly. Everyone on the blog bellyached that they hated the monthly updates because once they got all the good stuff at the beginning of the month, the rest of the month is boring.

So they changed it to weekly updates and are spreading out the content more. Now many on the blog are bellyaching that Europe found out everything they're getting at the beginning of the month and that US should get that too. Honestly Sony can't win.

So I'm assuming that money spent on PSM games counts towards the $20 for spending $100 since it accesses your PSN wallet. Is that correct?
So I'm assuming that money spent on PSM games counts towards the $20 for spending $100 since it accesses your PSN wallet. Is that correct?
Correct.
I need some games for my Vita so I will be picking up Dokuro next week hopefully we'll get some sort of ps+ discount on it
it's worth the full amount. There are over 150 puzzles, 7 (I think) bosses and was dedicated to the survivors of the Japanese earthquake or something like that. It's been a few months and forget which it was dedicated to exactly.

Well that was a shocker, no one guessed King of Fighters heh. But now Instant Game Collection is only 11 games? I call shenanigans.

I thought Machinarium, RE5 Gold, and Hell Yeah were good guesses since it's October. But we got PS+ discount on Hell Yeah and EU got it for free, so they'd get yelled at.

I really thought they'd dip into the EU PS+ games collection we didn't get, since they are dipping into ours with Just Cause 2, Lara Croft Guardian of Light, Saints Row 2, etc.
