And the 12 games are perpetual. they could remove 4 and add 4, remove 6 and add 6 each month. We dont know. We do know that some will go away and others will be added but there will always be at least 12 games available

That's my understanding

The Best-Selling Games for May:
The Walking Dead made a big impression on PSN players this month, with the first episode of Telltale Games’ episode zombie series claiming the top spot in May. You’ll also notice a great resurgence in the PixelJunk series, due likely in part to May’s deep-discount PixelJunk sale that saw many PixelJunk favorites sell for a just buck.

In PS Vita news, Escape Plan’s iron grip on the throne has finally been loosened — NetherRealm Studios’ bone-crunching fighter Mortal Kombat takes the top slot this month. In PS one Classics, Legend of Dragoon’s long-awaited release reshuffled the usual crowd of top performers. Starting this month, by community request, we’re also happy to integrate a new chart examining PS2 Classics performance! In May, Max Payne stole the show just in time for Max Payne 3’s arrival on Blu-ray Disc.

Get the download on all of May’s top sellers below. Did your favorite game make the grade? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
Go Castle Crashers!
I really want to see sales numbers for that game across platforms. Major Nelson puts out a top selling list regularly and it's always on that, usually in the top 10 even now, 4 years after release. I could see it doing extremely well on Steam if they put it out there.

It's around 2 million on XBLA. I'm sure significantly lower on PSN due to a far later release and lots of gamers having already played it on XBLA. I'm sure it would kill on Steam, espeically cuz it would certainly drop to $3-$5 on sale or end up in a Humble Bundle.

Do you have a source on that besides Gamasutra? Just curious, because the leaderboard numbers don't work effectively in tracking sales for that game because anyone who played it local co-op is on the leaderboard.

In fact, I'm on the leaderboards for that game but don't own it (played it at my cousin's house).

Sorry about getting that number wrong. It was actually at about 2.6 million, though it should still be easily over 3 million with PSN numbers thrown in.
For what it's worth, Payday is awesome, and a tough platinum to go for.
Indeed. The game is a lot of fun if you can get a group of good players together. The majority of the trophies are pretty tough though and actually require some effort.

Also, there's some DLC that's coming out soon. I pretty much have the platinum wrapped up, just need to get about $300 million so I'm waiting for the DLC.
+1 on Rage. The races were the most fun. I wish there were more of them. Missions were also varied and fun, if linear.
Agreed. With Rage I p much sat down and beat it in one sitting which has been a long time a game has kept me in well enough to play start to finish that quickly. I really was disappointed with the ending though I thought it was rather lame and I thought you would be able to at least continue doing side quests after. If they added Dlc adds for story and side mission I would have jumped on that. As far as playtime goes I guess about 6 hours seems to be the norm for most these days. I think the last game where I logged over 40 hours playtime on story was ff7 and x. Ok and Gta but, sandbox doesnt count as I spent more time doing random crimes then story.
Xplay deals? I want a discount on EA's MMA, their 2010 Best Sports game of E3..
It's $8 used on Amazon atm. I'm sure I've seen it as low as $5 during sales.
After all the HDD talk in here yesterday, I thought someone might get some use out of this deal:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ..._mmc=EMC-GD061212-_-index-_-Item-_-22-136-835

Use Code: EMCYTZT1745 to knock the price down to $90
D'oh! That's the exact drive I bought from Amazon the other day for $101. Oh well, at least I had credit to use there and that $90 at Newegg would have had to go on my credit card.

As for Rage, I barely ever play any 1st (or 3rd) person shooters and I had a lot of fun with that. It has some great visuals too. But it has been cheap so often that I'd be disappointed in it being a free game if that's what we're talking about here. It was readily available a couple months back from Best Buy for $5 using the Gamer mag coupon.
Very interesting.

Journey has two wins on that list, so maybe, just maybe. I'm thinking we'll probably get stuck with Rage and some other crap instead, though.
Is there a full list of nominees? The X-Play sale seems to be about nominees, not just winners.

:applause:Yeah. I just don't see the big deal with zombie games. I mean, I played a bunch of Dead Island and it was repetitive as fuck. I eventually put it down and haven't picked it up back up yet. Though a buddy from PSN/CAG is supposed to eventually play it co-op with me, so it'll be nice to have another person playing it and keeping the hordes of zombies off my back.:D

Yeah. I lent it to my one buddy just before Easter and he played all the way through it. He was showing me some of the high level weapons the one night and they were just insane.

I'm really enjoying Sly Cooper a lot now that I'm much further than I was after originally renting the game on the PS2. I definitely wasn't expecting the third boss fight to be modeled after
PaRappa the Rapper.
I'll be glad to get to the sequel, as this one-hit death mechanic is so stupid.

The boss fight you are referring to was by far my least favorite part of the game, because it was so easy to mess up (or I just sucked at it).

I really enjoyed Sly 1, but it was pretty easy (beside said boss). Anyone know if 2 and 3 crank up the difficulty at all?

The boss fight was pretty easy. I nearly got to the last part of it before getting killed, but I got it after that. I guess you don't have any rhythm.

Is this the cheapest Payday has been? Seems like a pretty good discount but I'm hesitant thinking it has been and/or will be cheaper in the future. Any reason to pick this up now if I have a backlog so big that I haven't touched a game on my PS3 since February? (Usually play 360 arcade games first and, well, Diablo did come out last month....)

Very probable.

Yes this is the cheapest it has been. The demo didn't do all that much for me, but I don't really like playing games online with others, and this one is definitely built for that.

I see that its temporarily OOS. It can still be ordered and IIRC, Amazon will fill it when they get it back.

This is like the third time you've asked this (you even quoted yourself for the 2nd post) and it's been answered already.

On Topic: I'm interested in Payday but is it a game that gets boring really quick? If anyone has the game do you still play it or stopped touching it? If I don't get payday I might get all the sly cooper games instead since I only beat the first one on PS2. The sly games are the regular PS2 games and not HD right?

Anyone know if 2 and 3 crank up the difficulty at all?
I'm just about done Sly 3 at the moment (finished Sly 2 a few days ago) as I got Sly Collection for $10 a month or so ago. I'd have to say Sly 2 & 3 do crank up the difficulty, plus they're more open world instead of hubs for small linear levels. Plus Sly 2 has 2 more additional characters, while 3 added about 3 or more in addition to the 3 characters in 2. Pretty much, Sly 3 improves on the formula that Sly 2 had.

& totally jumping on Ico/SotC HD via Amazon.

Unfortunately he does that regularly, like quite a few on here anymore. Instead of looking back through the thread to see if their question has been answered they'll re-ask a question.:whistle2:# Some don't even wait an hour or two and re-ask every 10 minutes till they get an answer.
So the free games run the entire month? If. Ico/sotc doesn't come back into stock soon I may just buy psplus
Yes, the vast majority of PS+ games are up for a month before they're taken out.

Payday is alright, but playing solo, the AI kinda sucks and does little to help you. I've done about 1/2 the missions, and haven't touched the game in a few months. While the missions are varied, a lot of them have the same basic concept of "set x machine, keep checking on x machine to make sure it doesn't break/jam, fix if it breaks/jam, continue".

The Sly games are the HD ports.

I would recommend the Sly games over Payday (not that Payday is bad), I probably put in around 22-24 hours on all 3 games, well worth the $12 I got the collection for.

If you don't care about trophies, it'll probably get boring. There's only six maps. I found most of the fun is going after the trophies as you really need to learn the game and put in time to get them, especially the gold ones.
Anyone know where to get a one month of PS+ at.
The other thing that frustrates me about this question is that it's just people being cheap (ya, I know) and wanting to lock up these instant collection games to their profile for later play.

It's just so short sighted. PS+ has been an awesome deal for the vast majority of us, just spring for a 3 month or 1 year subscription and enjoy it.

I don't even get the people who just want the three month subscription. The cheapest option per month is the one year. Unless you're going to play the games as fast as possible and right away, anything besides the one year just seems like a waste of money.

Why spring a 3 month or year subscription for something I play maybe three times a year.

Sly 1 and 2 are 2 of the easiest platinum trophies IMO. I don't even trophy hunt and I got the platinum for both of those games (my only 2). Sly 3 takes a lot of time to go back and to the challenges for each mission, something I wasn't willing to invest to get the 75 and 100% complete trophies.
Bravo! To paraphrase a great man, abuse of the incontrovertible rules of English language is something up with which we should never put.
Well said! I think...?
So many prepositions work fine at the end of sentences. "At" nearly always seems superfluous. The sentence would work as well without it. Plus you don't get things "at", you get things "from".
If it was anything else but "at", it wouldn't drive me crazy. It just makes people sound stupid and that would have been rude to say.

Back on topic, I hear the vague rumors about bonus months for PS+ if you buy the full year (like last year's promotion, I guess). Does anyone know if this is a likelihood or at least when it might happen (i.e. when is the two year anniversary?)? I think my PS+ expires in one week and I'd like to take advantage of whatever bonus there might be.
