Interesting that they basically announced a release date for GO - I didn't think Valve had said anything yet.
They announced it at E3.
So there's no actual sale for this week, just the announcement of those four games?
The Atlus sale continues and Rainbow Moon is $12 for PS+ people. There's nothing else announced for deals.

For some reason when I get on the playstation network on my ps3, I don't see any of these games as discounted, and on some pages I get an error code 80023102. Anyone else having any trouble like this?

What is the cheapest that Catherine (with original cover) for ps3 has been at Amazon? Did it ever go lower than $30?
(And I'm specifically talking about Amazon.com being the seller)

That kinda stinks then. I guess Sony doesn't want any chunk of my $43 n change I have sitting in my account. I'm still debating grabbing a $10 card from BB and going PS+ for a year, but without some idea of what may be 'free' for the rest of the year I don't wanna pull the trigger.

I guess I'll just get Catherine ps3 from Amazon since it comes with the original boxcover as well as the soundtrack and art book. It is only $30, so why not?

I didn't know Papo & Yo was a PSN title, I liked what little I saw of it at E3 so I'll be grabbing that along with CS:GO for $24, not a bad deal considering I get $3 back in PSN credit

When the games aren't discounted, it means the store is being updated.

I honestly feel like you're just trolling at this point. It seems like every Monday you post the same thing: "I don't really know if PS+ is worth it." And then you get a dozen or so people telling you it is...all of which you seem to argue with and come up with reasons you think it's not worth it.

At this point, I feel like we should just add to the OP "IAmTheCheapestGamer doesn't think PS+ is worth it, even though he's been told 100 times by 100 people that it is." That way, you don't have to mention it every week!

In contrast, I grabbed a 3 month PS+ card at the end of the first batch of free games at the end of June and am already sold on grabbing a full year - and just grabbed a 250gb HD to upgrade my ps3 to give me more space for all the free stuff. And this is coming from someone who hadn't really turned on their ps3 in a couple of months before grabbing +. If you're not sold on + at this point, maybe you just don't like games.

I simply mentioned that I have almost $50 in my PSN account and that I am still considering PS+ in passing. There's no need for anyone to 'defend' the service, but saying that is like talking to the wall, since people will always come running to defend the great and infallible Sony against those who would speak ill of their mega billion corporate master.

It's not that I don't like games perse, just that the ones that're "free" aren't perpetually free and their choice of games for the sales or PS+ and the discounts therein are kinda crap 9 times outta 10 for me. Note I said 'for me', since I've either had most of what they discount or make free or I just have ZERO interest in them.

At least if they kinda asked via a survey taken via PSN as to what people would like to see on sale/free then maybe we might not get such meh selections with laughable pricing.

This is why I truly fear the next Playstation going all digital download, since with DD games they feel they don't need to discount them properly and people STILL buy em at or near full price.

It won't. See PSP Go.
It won't. See PSP Go.
I would certainly hope not. Although PSP Go has been decent for me thus far. But that's more than likely due to the fact that I've only spent $.99 to get a game on there thus far(5 in 1 arcade). The other 2-3 have been the free PSN hacking PSP games that Sony gave out.

After playing the Killzone 3 multiplayer demo last night, I decided to pick it up this morning after I got back from the bank / running errands. The store was already being updated by the time I got on it, though. Dammit.

Well the error code went away and I can access the store normally again. I'll probably pick up Catherine when the store is done being updated. Right now its still showing as full price for me.

No, they're not...but are you going to take three months (or however long you get it for) to beat inFamous 2 and any other game you're interested in? I have it for 3months now and already I've "gotten my money's worth" since I'm almost done with inFamous 2 and played quite a bit of a few others.

Weren't these just on sale? Or have they just been on sale and there's no new deals this week?

I almost thought the same thing, but these are the collections, not the individual titles that can only be bought by PS+ members.

For example, Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus are each $19.99+,
God of War 1 HD and God of War 2 HD are $14.99 a piece and they can only be purchased if you have PS+.

I had the disc version of inFamous 2 that I bought pre-owned from BB for $6-7 after a coupon 3-4 months ago. I just got rid of it yesterday and hadn't played it at all during that entire time.

But I am slowly making progress with my other games that I DO want to play through. It's just that I hate to say it but I'm like the troglodites who only play MW or COD constantly. I'll play/finish one game and then go back to playing a sandbox game either online or off for another month.

Are you planning on making a ps3 scrapbook and remember and play all the games you ever have forever? These games are great while they last and then throwaways. I had my bro get me 1 year for my bday and it's been a killer gift. Far Cry 2, Trine, and tens of other games free that I can play and delete. I don't buy digital because they have no resale or trade value but the free stuff alone has been worth the script.

Isn't Sports Champions like 5 bucks preowned at Gamestop?

Either way I'm probably gonna get Sports Champions 2 this year lol

If you're one who enjoys the convenience of digital, you can 'upgrade' your gow collection by trading it in to amazon for 8.80 or your gow origins collection by trading it in to bby for 15/16 after promos.

Hmm...anyone have any thoughts on Rainbow Moon? Haven't heard much about it. I think it came out in Europe last week, so maybe some folks across the way have some opinions?

you've been here how long, and you don't know this?

if ps plus isn't worth it because you can't keep the games when the subscription ends, then neither is netflix

I still play some titles every so often from older consoles, including Cool Spot for the Genesis, which I'm shocked EA hasn't released one or both of those games for $5-10 apiece on PSN since they own the rights to the Virgin Interactive library.

But no, I rarely play any games forever anymore. The only ones I will occasionally pop in are ones like Cool Spot or the sandbox titles for PS2/PS3. I still buy the occasional digital title, but it has to have some decent time value to it or be something I can pick up and play for 20 minutes to an hour and be low enough of a cost that I won't mind springing for it(5-in-1 arcade for $.99, for example).

Otherwise I've learned to have decent control with my spending, at least as far as digital items go. But if I have credit at a store & they have what I feel are decent sales, then watch out.;)
Thanks. Been waiting for Papo and Yo. Looks like I might get $3 back... seriously, the Expendables 2 game? While the actual promo is better than Summer of Arcade, the featured games are much worse...
Yeah, I rolled my eyes at that one too. But I think I might bite on Papo y Yo and Soundshapes.

IGN has a review, as does Eurogamer. From what I hear it definitely seems to be an old school style RPG, as in it's grind-city for a while to get your levels up.

Is rainbow moon combat like ffxiii where it's turn based combat and flows freely or more like a classic grid, must move to target to attack them via turn based moves? Looks like the latter but not sure. I don't want to spend 10 mins on each battle, rather it be like ffxiii.
Man these PSN+ free games take a while to download, sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
You should really wait till the middle of the night to try downloading anything from PSN, especially on the day that sales update, since everybody and their uncle is likely trying to download as well.

Another week and no Vita sales. At least the past few weeks we had some PSP deals, but this week is pretty bare. That is unless you enjoy insane amounts of DLC for NCAA and Magic 2013.

It's a strategy RPG, so battles are turn-based and take place on a grid. I thought I had heard that battles a quicker than the typical SRPG.

Nevermind sales, their Vita prices just aren't competitive at all at this point. I like my digital content but Sony's inability to digest anything lower than full MSRP for most of their games outside of sales that come a year late makes me glad they didn't make Vita digital only. Hot Shots and Wipeout for $35-40 still? Seriously?

This. I stupidly overpaid for the 32GB memory card, but I am not stupidly overpaying for digital downloads. I purchased about 6 games for around 20 bucks each now. I'll deal with the physical media before I given in to Sony's stubbornness.
It's really old-school. I keep playing it and not touching it for months. I haven't played Persona 2, but considering it came out in the same era, it probably isn't much different.

If you skip P1, you might as well skip to P3.
I'm okay with it being old-school, I'm just wondering if it's good. I played Eternal Punishment on PS1 some years ago and remember liking it.

Yep, I have been waiting on Hot Shots and Wipeout to drop digitally, because I know those are games I want on the system. When I traded my PSP to get the Vita those were the only two UMDs I still had, but I would like to get them digitally. I have been enjoying the retail sales and have a ton of retail carts for the Vita, i just want some of these games digitally and the fact the prices have not moved since launch is very annoying, esp. given the sales that Europe has enjoyed over the past few weeks.

Having trouble getting gotham city imposters and rengade ops for free on my psn+ account. When i add them to my shopping cart it says they are full price instead of free. I made sure I was on my psn + account.
