Jeez, dude... a 9 MB animated gif in your sig?

if anyone is gonna get any rainbow moon dlc, go for the ones with

Rainbow Moon – 50,000 Rainbow Pearls (Baldren) + Black Ring ($1.99)
Do you want to give your character a big boost? Download this product and 50,000 Rainbow Pearls will be added to Baldren’s inventory. You will also receive a Black Ring, a powerful accessory with unique characteristics.
Rainbow Moon – 50,000 Rainbow Pearls (Dozeru) + Pearl Ring ($1.99)

Rainbow Moon – 50,000 Rainbow Pearls (Trisha) + Fire Ring ($1.99)

those rings are very helpful, especially in the beginning, with xp boosts, rainbow shell boosts and something else. im sorry i can't be more specific. i read a bunch of strategy stuff for the game yesterday and now i can't find it...

and wow dude that sig, now i know what shipwreck and wombat and cheapyd were talking about on cag with overkill and elephant man brains... yeesh
I'm okay with it being old-school, I'm just wondering if it's good. I played Eternal Punishment on PS1 some years ago and remember liking it.
For what it's worth, I played Persona 2: Innocent Sin a few years ago (fan translation) and it was a very good game, though I didn't finish it. The "rumor" system in particular is a very clever idea, and the demon negotiation is fun as always. All in all, it's a solid RPG, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as Square's RPG's from that era (late PS1 era), as much as I tend to feel inclined to give Atlus praise over Square these days.

I haven't played Eternal Punishment yet, so I can't comment on any similarities/differences between the two at this time.

I'm not sure if I'll buy any of the PSN Play games, since I have so many games at this point from PS+. I was hoping for Rock Band Blitz, and I think there is some other title I'm waiting for that escapes me at the moment. At least there will be demos to check out before I decide. I also have more interest in Rainbow Moon and Quantum Conundrum than the 4 Play titles.
some of us prefer digital games instead of hard copies, so again, no vita sales
wow, never thought id see a "CAG" say this.

vita digital is way more expensive counting the cost of the memory sticks and the difference of the gamestop sales(games being $10-$20)

9MB animated GIF? Yea... I'll be ignoring this guy. Aren't there board rules for stuff like this?

I don't get people that try to suggest CAGs should only have one set of beliefs/interests when the entire point of CAG is to get the games you want for the prices you're willing to pay for them, which varies greatly for every individual.

Stop being reasonable...we all know CAG is about flipping and glitches biatches.

Retro City Rampage would have been a perfect fit for the PSN Play promo too.

It would've been a perfect fit to launch a few weeks ago when it was finished, but we can thank Microsoft for that.

omg, this x 1000. right now the only thing i'm interested in is counterstrike. they really should have thought the titles through more. expendables is a joke and sound shapes probably could've been left out as well. they should've found more that appeal to a broader audience. sound shapes and papo & yo are definitely in the niche category. i'll probably still pick up counterstrike with the discount even though i won't get any extra credit.

really tempted by rainbow moon this week. would like to hear some more impressions if anyone picks it up. even though i dumped a ton of credit in the last week. grabbed resident evil chronicles, yggdra union, persona 3, hexyz force, and aedis eclipse(not on sale, but still cheap).

Thinking about this, I doubt we see Retro City Rampage much before Sept. XBLA Summer of Arcade starts soon and I doubt Microsoft will allow that to launch during that time period. It is a real shame because it looks like a great game that would be a perfect summer title. I was hoping for Zen Pinball 2 today, but hopefully that comes out next week.

It bothers me that GS has these great sales on Vita, but I'm going only digital for the Vita. I just want to not have to insert different games. It prevented me from enjoying a lot of games with my PSP that I would only want to play for a few minutes.

But yeah, my plan is screwing me with the 80 dollar memory and near full price on digital games.

Question: off topic slightly.

Running on 80 gb's. I saw in another (can't remember, if I could I'd go back to that one as I asked this same question.)

Is bumping up the gb's hard? I don't know a damn thing about switching out hard drives or anything. I've never messed with it in fear of potentially messing my system up but I've seen many fellow CAG's mention they've done it.

Would anyone be willing to PMe about it? Maybe some pointers/explain? Would be most grateful for any help! Not really in a position to buy a new PS3 with a larger drive.

I'm going to make note of this page so I can track replies as well.

These free games are great! PS+ is more than worth it!!

It's very easy. A 1 TB hard drive will cost you about $100 (search for a 1 TB Scorpio Blue for example, though generally any 2.5" [notebook-sized] hard drive with the standard 9.5mm height will work). Here is a guide on how to upgrade the hard drive of a fat PS3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2d3JCMHL4o
You'll need a small phillips screwdriver and a flat-edge blade.

Zen Pinball 2 will be interesting. I'm interested in how they will do the trophies, like, zen pinball 2 will be free? just as a platform to play other games? and you get all the tables you already bought? like how does that work if i got zen pinball free from ps+? hopefully i can still play that one. also do i get double trophies whether i play marvel pinball or if i play those same tables on zen pinball 2. hmmmm... this i ponder...

Thanks! Appreciate the quickness for the post and like the video so far! :D:applause::bouncy:

Zen Pinball 2 is free and I'm betting that it's like the way they handled Pinball FX2. Basically, Zen Pinball and Marvel Pinball will be DLC packs for Zen Pinball 2 and those that bought those games will automatically have access to those packs to use in the game. The same will go for the DLC tables. The PS+ versions of Zen or Marvel Pinball will work as long as you have PS+. If you own any of those tables, they'll also work on the Vita version with no extra money down.

It's a completely separate game, so you can get trophies for Zen Pinball 2 and the original games if you keep them around.

awesome. thanks Frisky for the quick and factual response. it seemed all jumbled in my head before.

interesting they changed some trophies(names only iv seen so far on some), and bundle 5 tables at 9.99. so like a free table, compared to 4 tables/bundle lately.

Back from the Dead
trophy_bronze.png
Perform a successful bang back with the Captain America ball. Perform a bang back by nudging the table at the right time as the ball heads down an outlane.

compared to zen pinball2's

From the Depths of Despair

Perform a successful bang back with the Captain America ball. Perform a bang back by nudging the table at the right time as the ball heads down an outlane.

not like it makes a huuuuuge difference, but still interesting they just changed some names. and now 2 trophies per table on zen pinball 2, compared to 3 trophies per table on marvel pinball (cuz of that 4/5 discrepancy)

For some reason Mickey Mania wasn't updated today as a PSOne Classic.

I remember this as one of my favorites on the SNES back in the day. Apparently it was also released on the PSOne in Europe under the title Mickey's Wild Adventure, sporting upgraded visuals and sound.

Fun fact: Mickey Mania is the first game known that Dave Jaffe (Twisted Metal & GOW fame) worked on as a designer.

Here's hoping it shows up soon.

Can anyone confirm if Tony Hawk HD will be released next week on PSN? Or a price? Info on this game has been surprisingly hard to come by. Definitely my most anticipated game this summer. Hoping for a Plus discount...

It's exclusive to XBLA for at least a month since it's a part of Summer of Arcade, but it should still be $15 like the XBLA version.

it won't be until some time after the summer of arcade promotion is over on xbox live. microsoft holds the timed exclusivity for 30 days at least.

Yes, the MP only portion of the game was on sale for $7.50 or so for PS+. The full game (single and MP) has never been free for PS+.

That was just the multiplayer portion of the game, FYI.

EDIT: ha, beaten by a couple minutes.

SP isn't even available on PSN

Thanks for the answers! I was talking about the multiplayer only for psn because I barely missed the sale for it. Think I might just wait and see if that gets added sometime soon to plus.

On a side note: I bought Rainbow Moon yesterday after I noticed I missed the sale for Killzone 3 MP. I streamed a little bit of gameplay and would post a link, but the quality is so terrible that it's not even worth it...The game is very grindy, but that was to be expected. You walk around talking to people and picking up side quests. I kind of hate strategic / tactical RPGs, but I am really trying to like them and this game hasn't bothered me yet.

You use rainbow pearls to raise your skills and each skill is capped at a certain point per level so you have to spread the points around a little. I went for speed first and it allowed me to take 2 or 3 turns in a row at level 5. Also at level 5, you get a subturn, so not only could I take 2 or 3 turns, but I could do 2 actions per turn. It's nice because that makes the combat go so much faster.

There is still some challenge in it, though. When you start the game you can choose between hard or normal. I chose normal and then it let me choose 5 other ways to start the game. The options would let me choose between being well equipped with healing items, to being well equipped with weapons and armor. I chose the last option, which was going in with nothing and supposedly there's a payoff for that option later in the game.

Anyways, if anyone has a question about the game then I'll try to answer it. It seems like a fun little game.

Is there an overall story/point? Is gaining levels rewarding enough to justify grinding? Is there an emphasis on weapons and armor or loot pickups?

I'm very tempted but if there's strong fun factor I'm sure I'll regret it. I'm already wondering why this isn't on the vita. Think mobile is perfect for srpg.
