Sonovacrap.... finally went and got a psn card so i could get FFIV and they already ended the sale just after 5 est. Usually I dont get updates till after 7 est... oh well such is life. Some consistency on update times would be nice though.

I have to say that I was surprised to see drops beyond what I was expecting for the Tom Clancy sale that makes a number of those games extremely cheap for PS+. From what I've seen, Endwar is basically Advance Wars on the PSP, so $2.50 for that is a great price since Field Commander has been mostly ignored by Sony. Compare this with what's in the Games on Demand sale on XBL and I'm not sure what Microsoft is doing with their huge selection when they give such crap deals.

Splinter Cell HD is essentially the same price as Amazon's price for the disc version. Will likely pass on that.

I might get Sky Drift -- seemed like a cool little racer when I tried the demo.

If End War can be played on the Vita, I'd grab that too. If it's an Advance Wars clone, for $2.50 it must be worth picking up.
Store is updated. Unannounced PS+ discounts WooHoo!
Half off Skydrift (should be $5, INSTABUY!)
Half off Dead Block (fuck, I just traded for that)
Half off Zack Zero (Already on sale for $8.99, should be $4.50 for PS+, INSTABUY!)

Also, Puzzle Dimensions is on sale for $3 (fuck, bought it as part of my spend $60, get $10 back, because I never thought it would drop). Anyways, everyone should buy that. Hard, but fun and good looking puzzle game.
GRIBBLED!!!

Skydrift is only 25% off (50% off its old price of $15)
Dead Block is only 38% off (50% off its old price of $10)
Zack Zero is 50% off full price, not sale price. (Admittedly, this miscalculation was my fault. But PSN has been known to do both 30% regular/50% PS+ like this AND extra 50% off for PS+ of a current 50% off sale. I assumed it was the later, but it wasn't).

Anyway, now I have to think twice about Skydrift and Zack Zero. I'm definitely gonna wait a couple days on Skydrift and see if they do in fact drop it to 50% off. Probably not likely, but we'll see.

Everything but Rainbox Six Vegas is confirmed playable on the Vita, though I'd guess that Vegas also works like the others.

Here's a decent review for Endwar that knocks it because there's already FFT and Disgaea on the PSP, which is an odd comparison to make since I don't believe there are RPG elements in Endwar instead of making the comparison to Field Commander and Advance Wars.

I usually do last minute PS+ purchases on Tuesday before rushing off to work as I loooove to procrastinate. So I got FF VI, FFT, and FF IX. I can't recall the differences between the PSP FFT and the PS1 game but in looking at recent posts, i see most got the PSP one. Did I pick the wrong one? I plan on getting a Vita at some point, but it might be awhile so I got what I could play now.

The PSP version has new cutscenes, what many consider to be an improved translation, and I believe it has some type of local multiplayer and a new job class, though I never experimented with those. The only downside to owning the PSP version is that there's a bit of sound lag after using abilities, but I probably wouldn't have noticed without reading reviews. I was planning on picking up FFT PSP for my Vita today, but alas, I was too late due to the earlier than expected update.

Besides the deals for Closure and the Tom Clancy stuff, these PS+ offers will be over with as of next week's updates:

Bermuda Triangle
Robots Dynamic Theme
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Um Jammer Lammy

It seems like the big group of titles offered in February (Battle Fantasia, Hamster Ball, Inferno Pool, Mahjong Tales, the Sega Genesis Bundle, and Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars) are possibly going to be free for PS+ for good like LittleBigPlanet Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves has been since 2010.

Is Crimson Gem Saga worth $15? Not sure if I should buy now or wait for a potential $10 or $5 sale later this year.

My only issue with Crimson Gem Saga was that they don't offer maps for dungeons, so it's very easy to get lost if you don't draw maps yourself.
if anybody here tries closure, please post your thoughts on it
I just played the demo for a few levels. It was fun and different, but didn't feel revolutionary or necessary. It's a definite "wait for a greater than 20% sale" for me. I also think that Sony/the dev/whoever shot themselves in the foot with the pricing. I probably would have bit at $10/$8. Feels like a $10 game with a $15 price tag.

Just my 2 cents from 15 mins with the demo. I'm sure there are purchasers who can give better opinions.
I dont know about the other games, but the reviews for Zack Zero werent very good. I cant remember exactly, but I think quite a few stated the controls were troublesome.
Within the first ten minutes of playing the demo, I'd already been defeated twice by the first enemy you face and gotten stuck with no idea how to proceed. I didn't give it much of a chance, but I took those for really bad signs.

The Zack Zero demo is one of the most polarizing demos I've played in a while. The controls are plenty tight (not sure how that was criticized in reviews) and the platforming was really fun and challenging (usually demos for platformers feature super-easy early levels).

The combat was ok but nothing special. But there were two cringe-worthy bugs near the end of the first level I played. One where spikes LITERALLY appeared out of nowhere and started chasing me. It wasn't unfair, just cringe-worthy.

The other involved horizontal moving platforms. I stayed on the platform until it entered a small slot in the wall just big enough for the platform. So the wall should have pushed me off and I should have fell. Instead, the wall KILLED me as if it was covered in spikes. Unfair for the first life, but since the checkpoint system worked well it only cost me about 30 seconds. Second time I played it, I knew not to touch the wall and made it to the top no problem. So not really an unfair bug, just a stupid bug that shouldn't exist.

So I really don't know how to feel about the game, definitely on the fence on it.

Just jump over him and attack his back.

For people who have played the Persona games, do you need to play the series in order to understand the story or will I be ok starting off with the 3rd one?

I played through the Zack Zero demo and it's not that bad, though throwing you into a mid-game level is dumb since you have to learn how to play the game long after you're intended to get past that process. It's the definition of janky/glitchy controls and trying to navigate a 2.5D world with background elements is not nearly as good as it is in Shadow Complex, but it got better once I got the hang of how it all works. It reminds me of a B-tier platformer from the PS2 generation that's a decent way to spend your time/money. Might go for it at $6.29, though I'll have to see what I've got left after I get the more interesting stuff on the list.
You had a full week to do what takes a couple of minutes. No excuses.
It isnt an excuse if you didn't have the money until this afternoon....

The series is more like Final Fantasy in that the stories are separate (maybe outside of Persona 1/2) with some cameos and similar elements that link them all together. You're not going to miss anything but a little fan service jumping in with any of the games.
It isnt an excuse if you didn't have the money until this afternoon....
If you need a week to scrounge up $20, you probably shouldn't be spending it on video games.

I noticed that you're kind of a grumpy gus. I'd be careful if I were you... one day you might wake up and realize that you've become Gargus.

I started with P3 FES. Nothing wrong with starting there. P3 and P4 are in my top 10 games of all time.

Anyone else notice that Persona 1 & 3 aren't on the vita store? I went looking on it when I saw P3 had a price drop as I've been eyeing it for a month, and it wasn't in the list of PSP games where I had seen it before, only P2 was available. WTF? Am I seeing a glitch or is it not on the vita store anymoe?

Can I get the code from Gamestop and download it that way, even if it isn't available direct on the store?

Except instead of playing forum police, I call people out on being stupid.
There is FREE littlebigplanet 2 spring creator pack in the ps store right now. It was just released last week. don't know if it will remain free forever so i would add it to your account just in case.

I've decided to pass on all of the Final Fantasy games since they have no nostalgia value for me. Gonna pick up 13-2 for $15 since I liked FF 13.
Which section of the store is this spring pack? I was unable to find it at all
Which section of the store is this spring pack? I was unable to find it at all
I downloaded it by going to Newest PS3 Add-ons and then going to the LBP2 section. However, this was last week. I went to check it after the store updated today and it wasn't there.

I found it by scrolling down the front page of the ps store and clicking on view all by title. Then click on L. Then look for and click littlebigplanet 2 and you'll see all the dlc.

Wow, that's weird. I wonder why they removed it.
It's a limited time offer like a lot of their seasonal DLC.
But shouldn't they be encouraging more people to use their tools and create lbp content? We're in the middle of spring. Seems like a stupid strategy. They're kinda taking a crap on the "community" thing that we are supposed to be a part of.

The price drops for the Atlus games is awesome. When I saw the update I thought I was missing another sale, won't be able to get the games I want til next week.
How so? They're rewarding the active community with some more stickers and stuff like that to use in their levels.

http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en/game_guide/ps3/downloadable_content/spring_creator_kit/
I think they should be trying to get everyone involved, active or not. This came completely under the radar. I don't think it was even mentioned in the ps store update on the psn blog. So even if you check the ps blog once a week on tuesdays, someone could have missed this.

If you were a part of the "community," you would have known about it.

It looks like we have someone with dictatorial tendancies. I hear that Newt is looking for a running mate.

I bought Splinter Cell Essentials so I could play it on my Vita. That games controls are completely unresponsive and shit even with the 2nd analog stick. Pretty disappointed, I could've got a $5 foot long or something.
