I know that Expendables 2 looks corny and cheesy, but I played it at Comic Con this year. God help me, it's fun and I want to buy it. PS Plus discount puts it at just the right value, I think.

Pretty awesome they added WKC2 dlc, i thought the company said they were done with it.

Maybe theres still hope for us getting the Avatar's side story DLC

What type of game is it? Looks like a twin stick shooter to me?

I had been wondering the same. If it is twin stick I would buy it. I thought the trailer looked cool and I love that black guy thats hufuckingmongous. He is so jacked. He is a great bit actor in the many movies and shows he has been on.

EDIT: Terry Crews! Thats his name, I always forget. Anyway, it is a twin stick and looks like fun to me. I may just buy it now. Looks like fun and seems like the "journalists" from the various sites I just went to said it was mindless fun.

from Eurogamer:

"The 1991 Sega Mega Drive cult classic ToeJam & Earl and its 1993 sequel ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron may be coming to Playstation 3.

According to sources at Siliconera, both titles will be part of Sega's upcoming Vintage Collection.

We've pressed Sega for confrimation, but they gave us the standard "No comment at this time" response.

The first ToeJam & Earl was a Roguelike about a couple of rapping aliens searching for pieces of their crash-landed ship. It also contained rocket skates, lemonade and hot tubs.

Christian Donlan waxed flowery about it in his ToeJam & Earl retrospective where he wrote, "We often complain about the limited, repetitive ideas spewed out by even the best big-budget releases, so it's wonderful to have this accidental alien invasion to remind you that, while it's always nice to see graphics, physics, and AI getting better, wouldn't it be lovely if gaming's thematic gene pool expanded at the same rate?"

ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron was a major departure for the series opting for a 2D platformer rather than the first game's overhead view.

Our Dan Whitehead gave the virtual console port a 6/10 in his roundup where he wrote, "for all its bold ideas, the basic platforming mechanic is pretty shonky. If you're the sort of player who can forgive rough edges in pursuit of mild innovation then give it a try. "
. The fighting is fun, but really the draw of the game is the social link stuff - where your ties to people in the daytime fuel your Personas at night. Really cool system and some good storytelling along the way. It's probably one of my favorite RPGs I've played.
Actually, I thought the fighting was rote at best; just seemed like your standard rock-paper-scissors type of combat. But the social-link stuff really drew me in. I also really enjoyed the story telling. I think it's a fine game and worth playing. I'll say this, it was good enough to make me give other JRPGs a try. Something I would have never done before Persona 3.
the videos for Malicious make it look like bayonetta meets nier.
That sounds terrible...terribly *awesome* that is. If it's really like that, it's almost an insta-buy.
Anyone play Vice City on Vita yet? How is it? Worth $20?
I just want to clarify, it's not Vice City but Vice City STORIES that was just made available for the Vita. I'm more interested in knowing which, Vice City Stories or Liberty City Stories, is the better buy. Anybody have any opinions?
What type of game is it? Looks like a twin stick shooter to me?
Right. It is a twin stick shooter. Mindless fun in the way Renegade Ops was mindless fun. 4p co op, like a spiritual sequel to those great arcade games of the late 80's, early 90's like Ikari Warriors, Mercs, Heavy Barrel, etc. Maybe I'm dating myself with those references.

I used to have both on UMD and I liked Vice City better just because I like the environment better than LCS. I don't know about any performance issues with the digital downloads.

I agree, Vice City Stories >>> Liberty City Stories. VCS has a Phil Collins cameo, and the 80's VCS soundtrack is awesome.

I wish they would port the full Vice City over to Vita. That would be a no-brainer at $20.

But yes, I had both on PSP. Vice City is much better. Wondering how it is visually on the Vita screen. I'm really on the fence to get it again. There will almost surely be some iteration of GTA on Vita before too long.

I'm still hoping for a GTA HD collection with GTA 3, VC, SA, VCS, and LCS. Even though I've played them all mutliple times that would jump straight to the front of the line on my list of games to play, and I would even pay $60 for it.

I'd easily drop $60 on that. Release day purchase.

I liked LCS more than VCS, for the same reason you stated (the environment). Vice City and Vice City Stories remain the only 3D GTA's that I haven't finished.

What the hell, Koei? They added a Da Qiao avatar for dw next but not dw7... I guess I get to wait another month.

I gave in and used my ps+ codes to get Malicious since it looks cool. If Expendables 2 is fun, I may get that too. I also now have 3 months to get through the free ps+ games though, and that might be tough since I have Amalur as a huge time sink now and P4A soon...

I don't know why but Malicious is so confusing to me. I don't know who to fight first and this lock-on thing is hard to control. Maybe I just need some time to play around with it.

I know this is has probably been asked a lot, but can a 30 day trial playstation plus code be added to an already active PS+ account? What I mean is will it extend my membership 30 days? I know it does with the 3 and 12 month cards I'm just not sure with this one.

Rockstar needs to hurry up and do this so they can take my money.

quick question. Im gonna buy some PS1 classics and some of the sale stuff from Atlus. If anything is on sale for PS+ members and I buy it, i still get to keep it if i let PS+ expire right? It may be benifitial to get a service for a month or something depending on how many sales there are

^_^x KD
if you pay any money for a game on ps+ sale it is yours to keep. same with dlc or whatever.
Thanks. I want the BOFIV pack for .99 but it requires PS+ for the deal. Hmm do they give one month free trials with some games like Xbox does? I still have some Xbox ones laying around but dont think i've ever seen a PS one. I may have to sign up for a month if htats possible, but would love a month trial code if those exist anywhere

^_^x KD

The only month trials they have is by purchasing a game from Amazon that gives you PS+ for 30 days (http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.ht...d_t=201&pf_rd_p=1347769322&pf_rd_i=B002I0J5FG) those are list of games that if you buy you will get a 30 day PS+ trial
Expect awesomeness. I started the p3p version on my psp, got about halfway and never finished before selling my psp last year... and forgot to transfer my save first. I grabbed the ps3 version last month for the cheap $10 price and happily started that, but kind of missed having it on the go. I got super excited when the sale came up this month, and it has turned my Vita into a Persona 3 machine since I grabbed it. You'll miss out on some of the (excellent) voice work and some anime cut-scenes on the Vita - but I kind of felt like the different look between the anime cut-scenes and the in-game stuff bugged me a little after having played so much of of the p3p version.

Either way, it is my intro to the series and it completely sold me. The fighting is fun, but really the draw of the game is the social link stuff - where your ties to people in the daytime fuel your Personas at night. Ok thanks for the advice. I'll probably start with the portable version. Since buying a vita I've pretty much neglected my ps3 and 360. Also the portable is half off and if I'm not mistaken the ps2 version is regularly priced at $9.99 on psn store so perhaps I'll buy it later after checking it out. My biggest issue is I already have way too many vita titles. It's difficult as I want to play them all so it's hard to decided. I did just finally buy and finish uncharted in a day that was pretty fun. It was actually my first uncharted title.

Ah - go back and play the ps3 versions of Uncharted. Just start with 1 and play straight through. The banter between Drake and whoever he's running around with is great, and it plays much better on a console.

just saw a trailer on expendables and it peaked my interest. looks fun, anyone know the parameters? 4 player online, local coop? any competitive modes? more than just a campaign where you get some replayability? or is this going to be a few hours then done?

I guess it's a pretty big pet peeve for me when people's interest "peaks", and let me know when game is >$40, my price point!

Anyone playing Rainbow Moon? Does it get harder? It's insanely boring to me so far. Get in a corner, attack->defend, repeat. Playing on hard with no starting bonus. And 3 minute battles are a lie. It's more than 3 minutes when it's 8 mobs that require 3 hits a piece.

I have lots of pet peeves, but grammar isn't one of them luckily. I do laugh when the "greater than/less than" signs are used wrong tho.

And I haven't started Rainbow Moon yet, but from what I hear it's pretty slow going for the first few hours, but does pick up eventually.

lol ok piqued my interest. i thought the grammar holocaust was over. still wondering if anyone knows more about the expendables 2 game, or have a link to any solid info on it.

Um....if you play solo, you can switch between characters using the D-Pad. Haha sorry that's all I could find.

EDIT:

The Expendables 2 Video Game will debut on PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and PC this summer as a four-player co-op shooter, both local and online.

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/28/ubisoft-drops-the-expendables-2-video-game-on-xbla-psn-and-pc/

To find out the rest of the info you're wondering, you're probably gonna have to wait for a couple reviews to come out. I can't imagine it would have competitive play. I would also guess that the heart of the game is the campaign, there may be some challenge/horde maps or something, but I can't imagine the game having a whole lot of replay-ability. But that's all personal speculation based on the dozens of other downloadable twin-stick shooters.

ts gets tougher once you leave the first island. Took me around 6 hours to get to that point. The battles become a lot harder from that point, you'll also start gaining way more xp after the first island. I agree with the begining battles all you need to do is sit in a corner and atk/def, definitely doesnt work well later on.

My interest "peaks"...it reaches a maximum point from which I cannot get anymore interested. I understand people probably mean to say pique, but peaks is not necessarily incorrect as many people think.

Back to the deals. Nothing recently has interested me greatly, just not my kind of games. Sure some of these deals pique my interest but I have enough of a backlog when my interest was peaked with the Final Fantasy deals and I bought them all, so do I don't need to spend more money right now. Maybe a sale on Kingdom Hearts PSP would be good.

While that may be true, that's not how he was using it. Not that I care, I'm just saying.

Also, there won't be a PSN sale on Kingdom Hearts.
