The people who comment on the PS Blog are so fuckin stupid. I'm surprised they don't just disable the comment section.
Yeah, some of the comments reek of petulance, but I think the concern over having something you paid full price go "free" a mere weeks later is legitimate. There has to be a better way of doing this, or else people will become less inclined to make purchases. In the end, that hurts Sony.

Anyway, I would have never bought the Walking Dead, so I'll be happy to try it and see what the fuss is about. Might even watch an episode or two.

I just watched some Sound Shapes gameplay videos, read some info on it and I decided to get it since you get a PS3 and a Vita copy for the same price. I will also be buying Papo & Yo, CS:GO so I will have 3 of the 4 games on the promo which will net me $6 in psn credit.

Just one question though, if I decide to buy The Expendables 2 later on will I get $10 in psn credit or do I have to buy it this week in order to qualify?
Eh, we're really only saving five bucks unless they give us the other three episodes for free too.
OK "big time" was hyperbole, but it still worked out better for those that waited (or never cared, like me)
Funny because that strategy paid off big time for a lot of people in this situation.
unless you knew it would become a freebie, it wasn't a strategy

Eligible Persons who purchase two or more of the four titles listed below (the "PSN PLAY Games") from PlayStation®Store during the PSN PLAY program (07/24/2012 – 08/27/2012, 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time)will receive the applicable Sony Entertainment Network ("SEN") Wallet Voucher (the "BONUS Gift").
a. Purchase any two qualifying PSN PLAY Games and receive $3.00 SEN Wallet Voucher.
b. Purchase any three qualifying PSN PLAY Games and receive $6.00 SEN Wallet Voucher.
c. Purchase any four qualifying PSN PLAY Games and receive $10.00 SEN Wallet Voucher.

So you'll have until 8/27/12 to buy it. However, the 20% discount for PS+ is only extended until 8/6 I believe, so you may want to buy it before then.
unless you knew it would become a freebie, it wasn't a strategy
The strategy is to not buy games at full price.

Really excited that The Walking Dead episodes 1 & 2 are gonna be free. I've been holding off on buying them, this way I can play through both of those and make sure I want to spend the money.

But the season pass did not go free, which is what everyone thinks and the reason why they're bitching.

Thanks for the info will wait for reviews to come in before I decide to buy it, the gameplay footage I have seen so far doesn't look too promising
so now that it's been a week what's the verdict on Malicious?
Based on Frisky's summary and reviews I've read, it went from an "almost-certain-buy" to an easy pass.

doh! just got walking dead sub last week. oh wellz. awesome ps+. hopefully i get some stuff this month i don't already own ;)
that's why i like the release day free games, then i dont have to worry about already owning it ;)
The strategy is to not buy games at full price.
The Season Sub wasn't full price, so how does that fit into the strategy?
unless you knew it would become a freebie, it wasn't a strategy
Telltale Games' episodic Back To The Future went free on Playstation Plus. So did Telltale Games' episodic Sam & Max Season 3 : The Devil's Playhouse. Their episodic Jurassic Park was free with a year's subscription to Playstation Plus. So yeah, if you were paying attention, the smart money was betting that The Walking Dead would eventually be free as well.

Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse episodes 1-5 were Free with PS+, not just #3.
Any chance PSN+ memebers will get a discount on the Street Fighter X Tekken DLC dropping tomorrow?
Considering its Capcom, i'd say about the exact same chance as everything on PSN going free
Any chance PSN+ memebers will get a discount on the Street Fighter X Tekken DLC dropping tomorrow?
Would be nice. A nice discount plus getting the game for $20 at Best Buy would make my week.

He said Season 3, not episode 3, since The Devil's Playhouse is season 3 of Telltale's Sam & Max series.

Didnt even realize that the character bundle was coming out tomorrow for SFxTK. Just sold my copy last week lol.

Either way, it felt like a quick cash in game to me.

Misunderstood my bad!

Never played Persona 3, so that price is pretty tempting.

Slightly off-topic question:

I recently just purchased a Vita, and it won't let me redownload any of my PSP games. Can you not redownload games from your list on the Vita? Or is there some other way to download the game a different way and transfer it?

Thanks.

only certain games are downloadable on vita right now. most of mine aren't either. some are transferable from the ps3 to the vita though. should check for a list online.

Depends on the game.

Some can be downloaded straight through the Vita through PSN

Some have to be transferred through a PS3 (Or PC maybe? IDK) to the Vita

Others just cant be transferred at all (Though theres always a chance for it being compatible later)

Exactly. I knew this game would be the same, which is why I held off. Which is why I'll also hold off on buying eps 3-5. They'll be free eventually too.
Telltale- you're so predictable :applause:
Here's the full PS+ schedule for the next few weeks:
I don't think this is the full schedule. They said that next week they'd reveal more PS+ info, so I'm guessing we'll learn the two other games for August next Monday. Unless they're changing things, I would assume all three August games will be available on August 7.

Thanks for the quick replies, sucks you have to use a PS3 just to redownload em.

It is the full schedule for the next two weeks. We'll learn more about what's coming for August 14 and beyond in the next week or two.

Check out that thread to see what's available on Vita or transferable to Vita.
Cool, not exactly my cup of tea but for free I'll take them and try them out. (I've never seen the show, don't really care to, will that affect my enjoyment of the games?)
It's actually based on the comic book, not the show. It's quite a bit darker than the show. I already bought it a few weeks ago and I would say it's good they're doing this because by the end of the 2nd episode, you will definitely know if you're into it or not. The first is kind of too short to judge.

I guess that means they're switching to the European PS+ method of spreading the games throughout the month.

Ok, so I need to ask something...and please don't flip out or try to go tattle, etc. because I'm HONESTLY not sure what the deal is about this, so give me a break, but... i recently sold my 360 and bought a PS3 to game on now... Xbox is gone..i won't be buying one again.

Well, I had 820 MSP left on my account that i have no use for anymore and I want PSN credit to buy a couple games off the PSN store. Is there anyway to go about trading credit for credit? Even if it means "unofficially" giving someone my account, i don't care. I just hate having $10 wasted on there, ya know?

do you really save money if you instead buy bad games that are on sale which more than likely will be thrown into a large backlog and never be played?

Walking Dead games are actually quite exceptional so I'm glad to see more people will get the chance to try it.

I picked up the game on steam during summer sales and I have no regrets for shelling out $15 or so for this game with episode 1 + 2, much less all those other episodes to come in the future.
do you really save money if you instead buy bad games that are on sale which more than likely will be thrown into a large backlog and never be played?
Potentially!

Malicious is the first game in a while that I may actually have to put down and quit. It's that bad. The controls are mediocre, the camera is atrocious, and nothing makes sense. I beat the first 5 levels, but the last boss just kills me without me being able to do anything.

It might be because I got 2 hrs of sleep in the last 50 or so hours and am dead on my feet though.
do you really save money if you instead buy bad games that are on sale which more than likely will be thrown into a large backlog and never be played?
That implies that either tyler buys every game on sale and that's why he would buy bad games or that only bad games go on sale.

Bought a bunch of Atlus games, which I might regret if they hit $5 within a year. Still, not a bad deal.

Good points, thanks. I'm done with the convo with Barry, it's really going nowhere.

I wonder if PS+ will get any other nice discounts today besides the Expendables game? I'm also interested in the guy that said he got WWE '12 for $13, where he got it.

You must have a weird collection if none of your games work! Anyway if some of your games that you can't get are PS3 -> Vita then there is at least a chance it might become a direct download. They changed a few that I had to allow direct downloads after a while.

many people here buy any game that goes on sale for 5 bucks or less, hence people having a backlog of 50+ games

and yeah a lot of those games suck
why is the walking dead so well received? did they change the formula since bttf and sam n max?
Yep - the best way I can describe The Walking Dead is an interactive choose your own adventure comic book with timers on a lot of decisions.
