I'm really looking forward to the week 2 sale.  It's really nice we get 4 weeks of potentially good deals.  Hopefully this week has something I've actually been wanting.  Getting Far Cry Classic for $3 was a sweet deal.

 
I can see why they wouldn't post the entire sale but it'd be nice if every week they post the next week of sales on monday before the store updates the next day.

Ok so I've tried to play Binding of Isaac multiple times now and either I'm not getting it or I just suck at the game but it's just not clicking for me. Is there anything (strategy, secrets, small details) that I'm overlooking? I was hoping it would be like Hotline Miami but it's just not doing that for me like HM did. Plus is it better on the PS4? Only tried it on my Vita so far.

Well, I posted here because the game I wanna buy is on sale right now on PSN. Maybe someone else would be interested. And I seriously don't see gamesharing as a scam. Sony knows people does that and doesn't do anything to prevent it, although it could. And it is not very different from buying an used physical copy on ebay, for example. If I buy an used physical copy, I wouldn't be giving money to Sony.

Anyway, that is just my opinion. Sorry if I shouldn''t post this here. Won't happen again.

I've been playing it constantly for the past month on Vita. Definitely my game of the year.

You'll get better. There are tons upon tons of powerups that affect every playthrough drastically. You might have quadshot acid in one game, and guided lasers in another.

There are too many secrets to get into -- experience will eventually get you better at the game as you learn how to best use resources, find secret rooms, etc.

As you beat the game more and more unlocks -- you beat the first boss, and a second boss unlocks, beat that a couple times, and more bosses unlock. Beat with different characters in different ways, and more and more powerups unlock.

It's crazy deep, and it's just awesome. I highly recommend just digging in a bit more, and letting it get it's grip on your soul.

There are tons of strategies and secrets, I leave it up to you to figure them out on your own or Google them / PM me.

The reason I love Binding of Isaac is because I found I was learning as I played, figuring enemy patterns / AI and slowly improving on my own without looking anything up. Unlike Spelunky which I played for 15-20 hours and without looking anything up in that game felt like I wasn't really improving at all. Anyway, I sunk 600 hours into the first game and 150+ into this one. It's a great time waster and now that you can save mid run it's even greater.

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep digging into it and hopefully soon I'll have that lightbulb turning moment cause I like the style that the game presents and the macabre setting is also a major plus in my book. Off to try it some more.

It sort of holds your hand while you get into the game and past mom the first few times. As new levels and bosses and playable characters and drops unlock, it blossoms. There's so much stuff that it can be frustrating since you'll never get to build exactly the character you want, but there are some ridiculous combos that make weak items into game breaking fun times. Like last night I got Brimstone and Tammy's Head. That head's usually total crap. With Brim? Unstoppable juggernaut.

All kidding aside, to someone who finds 2k to have too much of a learning curve at this point, do you think live would be a good buy? One of my favorite games ever was NBA Inside Drive (the first one). It had the best drive and dish gameplay of any game in my opinion.

 
I'd suggest focusing on unlocking a few of the characters, especially Azazael since he can fly above spikes and rocks to let you get around easily and is good for new people.

I don't play much basketball, I usually check out a 2-3 year old game, just heard how bad last year's was, and didn't even think about checking this year's out.

I remember they did a NHL '94 mode on a hockey game, it would truly be cool to be able to play NBA Live '95 again. Maybe with new rosters though.

 
Here's hoping Child of Light goes on sale. Regrettably (a little) bought First Light instead of Child of Light thinking that it would become a ps+ game way before Infamous would be. Boy was I wrong.

They don't even mention the first game, so I'm guessing it's just getting a vita compatibility update allowing direct downloads.

Unless it's just also being released in a combo pack. Since the first game is $5.99, then it's easy to see the second going for $9.99 or a bit more.

I get why 2K gets so much love. EA didn't help matters by sitting out a few years and then crapping the bed with Live 14 last year. Maybe it's because I don't care about perfect animations as much as some people or don't mind that there are no sliders which is a game breaker for a lot of people. Ultimately I just felt Ike I had been playing pretty much the same game year in and year out with 2K and Live just feels fresh to me. The courts and sounds are definitely better than 2K and I'm a sucker for TV presentation and they have all the ESPN graphics and whatnot. I'm still in the minority though so I'd say $20 or less is worth it if you're a casual fan. I genuinely have more fun playing it right now because 2K does feel like a chore at times.

I don't remember much about Inside Drive so I can't compare it.

Yeah, actually, that's a great beginner tip. Azazel is fast, powerful, and flies, so you can really get a sense of the game. His biggest 'issue' is that since he fires a modified short brimstone (thick red beam) you don't see/benefit from a lot of the tear powerups... but you're powerful from the start and he should help you get powerful in the game.

I've beaten everything with everybody at this point and am still playing.

Yeah, I don't know about this 'combo pack' theory. Are any games sold in combo packs that aren't sold solo as well? I can see it being 9.99, but I can't see it only being available in combo for 15.

 
Hopefully the full list will be out soon on week 2.  Nothing really interests me much on the screenshot shown.  Maybe Another World 20th Anniversary Edition... 75% off would make it $2.40.

 
Binding of Isaac is one of my favorite games this year. I've only beaten the final boss 10 times and that's just the tip of the ice berg of all the secrets and such.

I know it was bad at the start, but have read They have done a bunch patches that supposedly went down the long list of complaints and problems.

Anyone play it recently?

I think that is why the PC release was delayed, so they could get the vita version right and then carry over the changes.

None of these deals look good for me... I want Suikoden I and II.. I don't see them on the PS Vita store and web based store shows Suikoden I is only for PS3 and PSP.. I and II are supposed to be on Vita, right?

 
My guess is they never updated 1 to be compatible with the vita, but you could download it to the ps3, and then move it to the vita, I think that does work.
