After just finishing Flower and playing it first on PS4 I'm still shocked that I got it for like $1.75 in one of the last sales and it includes the PS3 and Vita versions. Such a great game.

Does anyone know how many Acts Contrast has? I got up to ACT III last night.



Act III is the last act.

True, but for those that do, it's worth knowing all available options. The price I quoted was for the Complete edition, so it's an Apples 2 Apples comparison. For those of you that care, there is a killer chrome plugin that shows price history when you view a game in the steam store, it's called Enhanced Steam.

I prefer some games on handheld (Vita.) As a general rule, though, yeah I'll get games on PC if they're cross-platform. Some games also seem to have better controls via gamepad, but the PC ports don't always manage that the best.

There are reasons to buy on console, it's not just about price.

Thanks overall the game was a little janky control wise but the story and atmosphere have more than made up for it. Thoroughly enjoying it.

On a side note I think I figured out my stuttering NBA 2K14 issues from yesterday morning. I declined the 1.51 update to the PS4 which actually said for online features run the update. I updated and played last night and the game ran fine like the night before. I also realized I was playing under NBA Today which I guess uses servers to grab info. In any event as someone who rarely buys and plays simulation sports games is it just me or is NBA2K14's menu structure bat shit insane?

I don't disagree, some games work better on some platforms, some people are more comfortable with certain controllers. However attacking another platform because it's not your favorite is pointless. I own many games on multiple platforms, especially indie games, I'm just opposed to overpaying for anything on any platform. I'm not evangelizing any platform but rather offering cost comparisons. However I see we have a number of immature members who are threatened in some way by the mention of a pc, and that is just funny as hell.

 
All this pricing discussion got all fucked up cause it wasn't how many Amy's it would cost. I hope Amy gets ported to the PS4 and gets put in the IGC. Then hoping Hydrophobia is next.

Is it possible to connect and use an external HD with a PS 3? I've ran out of space, and have an external HD I use with my laptop.

Can I just carry it over and plug it into the :ps3: ?

If this is a real question (hard to tell these days) no, but the internal can be replaced with a larger drive.

It's actually very very easy. There are a lot of youtube videos if you aren't sure how to do it. To physically remove the drive it's a few screws and an easily removable faceplate.

What size drive do you have now? Keep in mind if you want to back up the entire drive and not just the saves you may need a seperate external drive to move all your content. If you just want to move your saves you can back them up online (if you have plus) or to a usb stick and not worry about it.

I thought it I was incapable of doing it too, but it is rather easy. Only possible issue is that the screws are rather small and very easy to strip, so make sure you have the right sized screwdriver. Other than that, just back up your data if you want to, swap them out, put your data back on, and you should be good to go.

Externals just support media and (I believe) save backups.

You can back up the contents of your system, but you cannot install games and play off of an external drive. If you have a lot of games installed, the backup can take a very long time, but it works well enough and can help you upgrade your drive without losing data. I upgraded mine a long time ago and it was a long but simple process.

Having the ability to backup saves online through the PS Plus cloud has made it less of a problem though, since games can always be redownloaded.

I didn't know that Super Motherload was coming to PS3. I'm not convinced by the video I saw of it, but I was hoping it was going to be multiplayer Miner Dig Deep and it's not really that. Hopefully there will be a demo.

It's basically an arcadey version of that in that it's much faster.

If you have a 3DS, you should check out SteamWorld Dig, as it's Metroid meets Miner Dig Deep.

I had no idea we were getting a Saint Seiya game o_O.That will be an instant buy for me.

I take it you guys aren't big soccer fans. I mean I really only follow the local MLS team and international (like the World Cup) and I definitely know who "the FIFA guy" is.

SteamWorld Dig looks awesome. Really hope it hits a console I own eventually.

 
Yup! I was afraid to do so, too, until just about 6 months ago using the same two links below.

You don't need to transfer everything if you don't have an external hard drive. You just need to transfer all of you "Game Save Data." I just copied all of mine into the Cloud service provided with being a PSN Plus member. But you could just copy them onto a USB stick. And make sure to get the latest firmware from that Sony support link, and save it onto your USB stick before doing anything else. Took me less than 15 minutes, and I was taking my sweet old time since I had never done it before. Went smoothly without a glitch. I hated myself afterwards for holding off from doing so after all these years.

Note, when your ready to backup content from your existing internal drive to an external drive the external must be FAT 32 format otherwise the PS3 will not recognize it. The video explains this in detail.

This would be great if my PS3 hadn't died. Does anyone know when this ends? Will it still be there if I'm able to grab a PS3 on black Friday? Surely I'll get around to playing them some time; I'll just add them to the bottom of the list. Probably like 58 or so now? Oh wait, my Castlevania collection steelbook came in the mail today.... 59.

Flower is a great "chill" game and a nice break from all the intense action of most games.

Yeah, the screws are what I was worried about too after reading up on the whole process. Its so easy though that if you're aware of the problem, that in itself pretty much guarantees you won't have a problem.

 
Do people just want those PS1 games to add to their collection?  Destruction Derby always sucked and I don't see Warhawk and Twisted Metal being too great these days.
