Have we really gotten to a point where we can't say that XBL has good BF deals? They've crushed it for three years running. No, I'm not saying that their usual deals are great. No, I'm not talking about free Halo 3. I'm just talking about their BF ones.

I don't think I've even opened the XBL thread until now since Tyler stopped maintaining it. I'm not talking about recent history here. PS+ has definitely had better deals in the recent past. But one thing Microsoft seems to get right is BF. That's all I'm saying.

Now let's never fight again.
I see what you're saying now. I definitely agree that XBL usually has better Black Friday deals.

Amazon's deal on PS+ will surely be limited to 1. And also it will probably last for 2 seconds, which is longer than their 3DS XL deal, I have to admit.

When Sony mentioned it on the blog for various retailers, it said limit 2. I would be a bit surprised if they limited it to just 1, but it is certainly possible.

With the new Fry's ad, I am going to see if I can lock mine in on Thursday morning and send my wife to pick them up for me :)

Sony's blog limited it to 2 per purchase, I believe, so you can still make multiple purchases and redeem them with no issues.

Any of you guys planning to buy the $30 PS+ cards then hold on to them for the next Buy 12, Get 3 Free event?
Definitely considering it since I am already locked in now until 2016. Might as well wait for the right time to use the new cards. They should be safe in the gift card drawer we have.

I thought Tony only handled PC game downloads? Has he become the de facto Amazon rep for CAG?
He's running the new Amazon Playstation / Vita digital store too apparently.

Need some advice...

Kids want me to pick up Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time for the Vita. Cross Buy is the way I want to go....
It is $19.99 at Amazon (PS3)

Should I try to buy it used from Gamestop... hoping there is a code in there? (I have a 20% off coupon)... or is it hopeless to try?
It's apparently going to be $10 at walmart, maybe Amazon will match it in a lightning deal.

Well, it's buying through the store with your psn wallet...would really love to know this myself.
Hmm, I would imagine it should if it's any purchase with your PSN wallet like last time. That makes it even more appealing.

Very nice, though I already have Rymdkapsel from the E3 Home thing. Supposed to be very good though I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Already have cards on my desk for that.

I couldn't agree more.

I have no clue what the buy 12 get 3 event is...
Sony runs a special event once or twice a year, where if you purchase or claim 1 year of PS+ membership you get 3 additional months for free. So basically you get 15 months of PS+ for the price of 12 months.

And you can do as many years as you want and receive the extra 3 months on each one? No limit?

I don't think there is a limit. I vaguely remember doing it twice this year but that might have been during two separate sales events. I'm sure Frisky will chime in at some point with the correct answer. I already have 2 PS+ cards saved up for the next time it happens.

Wish they'd go ahead and announce the BF sale prices. It's help with planning. I'll skip Walmart if TLOU is $25 digital. Already plat'd and traded away, but I liked the multi enough that I'll rebuy at that price.

It doesn't work like that. You have to actually buy through the PSN store in order for that deal to work. I don't believe that used to be the case, but it definitely was at least for the last promotion they had.

Apologies if this has been asked/answered but for the spend $60 get $10 does anyone know if purchasing a $59.99 game will qualify or do I need to spend the extra penny? I know this has worked in the past with buying a $49.99 Ps+ membership. Thanks gang!

I know the one back in February/March worked with actual cards, since that was when I signed up and got the extra three.

Well it would be a shame if they changed it but not surprising. I have at least six months left and the cards don't expire so I can wait and see.

Did anyone who had to reset their password with Sony also get a password reset e-mail from PayPal? I did recently make a PSN purchase with PayPal, so if the two are related, you guys always joking about PSN accepting PayPal now has taken a malicious turn.

I don't use PayPal and I had to reset. I have linked a few things to my account (raptr, TrueTrophies, etc.), but I don't know if that would have anything to do with it.

Just a heads up don't forget to sign in BEFORE you add Soul Sacrifice to cart. If you add it to cart, then sign in during checkout it will not become free despite having Plus. If that happens just remove from the cart and add it in cart again with the signed in status. It is a common website coding mistake.

It's only been stated emphatically that it works with PS+, so I would purchase something else cheap like a .49 cent avatar or maybe a small $1 piece of DLC for one of your games.

Are you sure you are not confusing the buy a year get 3 free months with the spend X get Y credit things where it has to be from your PSN wallet? I am out to 2016 because I bought a card with Gamestop credit each time they ran one of those promotions to get the 15 months. I do not see any reason why they would change it.

Or in my case, showed up as free and confirmed. Get email about the charge. Spend an hour on the phone waiting. Gets a extremely nice fellow put in a refund order for me. He seriously was nice and mentioned many people were having issues yesterday. But sucks cause I have to wait 5 business days for it to go through.

The last promo in Feb/March DID NOT require you to purchase your cards through PSN. I used PS+ cards which were purchased at BestBuy during a $10 off $50 sale and had no problems getting the extra 3 months.

Looks like Best Buy ($30) and Fry's ($27.99) will have one-year cards for sale as well as Amazon.  I'm assuming limit one (or two?), but now I'm not sure how many I want to buy.  Do I prepare for the life of the PS4 now?  Is this going to be a regular sales price, kind of like $30-35 was for Live?  Hmm, decisions, decisions.

It may be regional, but I know that the EU one that just ran in August had the limitation of the free months only applying if you bought from PSN. It's possible that NA promotions won't follow that new rule, but I wouldn't count on it.

No real downside to waiting until a promotion runs to try it, though, I suppose.

The pudding:

"....if you purchase a one year membership through PlayStation Store up until 20th September we’ll give you an additional 90 days at no extra cost"

And:

Should I add games to my cart and just keep clicking without paying attention? And then if I get charged for a free game, should I blame it on the "store having issues" or my own laziness to not spend 5 seconds to confirm a price on a screen before clicking the checkout button

I hear that if you go back and click purchase again the accidental charge gets fixed.

Blaming your own laziness is for quitters and un-American. Always blame others. ALWAYS.

As long as you're adding money to your PSN wallet and spending that money, it counts. It doesn't matter where the source is since it all just funds the wallet before the purchase is made.
Ah, a search finds Frisky answering a question I had. I want to get BF4 Premium, but have to find something for $10 more to get in on the promotion.

Also, from my understanding, it's all transcations during the promotional period that qualifies? I don't have to spend $60 at once, right?

Correct. You just need to spend $60 during the promotional period.

It's only been stated emphatically that it works with PS+, so I would purchase something else cheap like a .49 cent avatar or maybe a small $1 piece of DLC for one of your games.
Interesting. No one else has firsthand experience that these kinds of promos work if you only spend 59.99 out of the full 60.00?
