Thanks for the info, everyone.

You don't need the Sharpshooter for the HOTD games. The HOTD bundle for $7.50 is a super deal. All 3 of the games are on rails, so you only need the Move motion controller. If you have the handgun shell, which Best Buy is currently closing out for 2 or 3 bucks, it's even better. Only thing I don't like about the Move controller is it loses calibration on point and shoot gun games. The 3 move controllers I had last year did and the two I just bought a couple of weeks ago do the same thing.
That's a good idea; I'll check out Best Buy tonight. If they don't have any there, I might order one online ($14 + free shipping at Best Buy now).

On Amazon the LoS collection is $40, which seems high. I never played it and really want to, but like most of y'all, I'll wait for the inevitable $20 drop.
Plus, the LOS collection is just a reprint of vanilla LOS with no DLC on disc and a bunch of vouchers.

no thanks.

So I just logged in on the online store, and I have the plus symbol by my avatar. All the plus prices are showing up for me. I haven't subscribed... :?:

Edit: Nvm, must have been a temporary glitch or something. The symbol is still there, but the prices are back to normal.
Should have bought the farm when you had the chance.

I tried HODIII with a DuaShock and found it unplayable. But that was after I already played it with my Move Sharpshooter, so maybe that spoiled it for me.
Nope, it's awful that way.

I'm gonna be a dick and play Hotline, it's also a smaller download.
If you've played Rayman already may as well at least give Hotline Miami a go and see if you like it.

first amazon reviews of vita lego marvel points to a forecast of severe vita piss followed by being burned.

apparently you can't jump in the vita version? what the hell?
Past Vita Lego games have been the same as 3DS bit with better graphics. Can't say this is a surprise.

What's wrong with vouchers for DLC? You get the content either way. Who cares if you have to type in 12 characters to get it. It also comes with the Mirror of Fate HD download. Probably a voucher too. It's a nice collection, I just can wait on a sale.

I'll tell you this - if capcom rereleased RE4 on vita/ps4 I would buy it *again* for $15. I have absolutely no damn willpower when it comes to that game.
im not a HUGE re fan, but i played re5 and enjoyed it, i was thinking of getting it for the wii instead. is there a difference from the ps3 and wii version?

This is the intro (if I remember right) and you can see that it's a lot cleaner, native widescreen and HD. I would probably grab it on the PS between the two, and actually I think I might now that I'm thinking about how good that game is.

It's not the fact that you have to enter stuff. It's the fact that you are paying for a worthless piece of paper that is tied to an account and not on disc.

The Wii version is played with motion controls and works really well. The PS3 version has no motion support but better visual fidelity. If you prefer traditional controls, go with the PS3 version; the motion controls help a lot in immersing you into the game as you try to keep a steady hand while crazed villagers advance menacingly toward you.

If the piece of paper has an unredeemed DLC code on it, then it's not exactly worthless. It's worth exactly the same amount as that same DLC is in the PSN store.

Okay, I suck at Hotline Miami.
Yeah, I did at first, too, but it's worth sticking with. Knock down as many guys with doors as possible or you could always try a suicide run with a machine gun or something. Sometimes you get lucky and clear out a bunch of them that way.

I'm just getting to Urban Trials on Vita and it's great fun. Just like having a portable Trials HD with even some extra little touches and set pieces. Why didn't this get very good reviews? Do Playstation people not like trials games?

hmm is it a good idea to go Digital for TLoU and Puppeteer?
I wouldn't on TLoU, it's bound to be cheaper than $40 before the holidays are over. Puppeteer is probably going to be $20 during the holidays so I suppose it depends if you're going to play it right away and never resell it.

A lot, my friend, a lot.

I will, I really like it, thanks for the tips.

I never quite looked at it that way. What a great insight and argument for your position. My eyes are opened anew.

Once you use the voucher, paying the extra money and time just to get the physical product is a pointless waste of time. And completely devalues the set.

You can't resell it or let a friend borrow it or anything.

Once they are used you are left with exactly what you paid for.

A vanilla copy of Lords of Shadow.

If the game comes with voucher, now I have to download all of the DLC and let it take up hard drive space when I know (especially in terms of the PS3) that there's room to keep all of that on the disc. So they should stop being lazy and put it on the disc.

In other news, looks like I'll finally have to buy Resident Evil 4 again. Held off on the PS2 and Wii versions, but at this price my willpower has failed me in time for a Halloween run through. Don't see myself unlocking the Handcannon again. Never did well with Ada even though the rest of the 5 stars are easy to get (besides the castle with Hunk)

And good news: the DLC skins for Enslaved are finally available! Bad news: I have to buy the whole $20 pack just to get them.... :wall:

Other than that looks like I can hold off on spending money. Too bad they don't sell $10 online codes at Amazon so I can use some of that credit, though.

I f*&king LOVE Hotline Miami.

When the game first came out for PC, I read the reviews and was like, "meh."  Never bothered to get it.  So when it was offered up as a freebie on Plus I decided to download it to my PS3 and Vita.

Booted it up on Vita the other night to see what it was like.  Three hours later I was still playing and swearing at it.

Thank you PS Plus!  Thinking about buying Spelunky when I'm done with Miami.

It probably won't go cheaper than $36 digitally, though, and with the excruciating load times of the disc version, this is an important consideration for anybody that either doesn't game for hours at a time or isn't willing to just pause the game and leave it running when they need to walk away.

I'm not saying to pull the trigger...but I wouldn't advise waiting for a better sale this season on a digital copy. If he's willing to wait in general (perhaps for the GOTY version that will eventually be out) then sure, that's a CAG approach, but $36 is a pretty decent deal at this time IMO.

Be aware that Spelunky does have a demo, so you might want to check that out. I downloaded it for PS3 and found it to be immediately fun and addicting. My horrendous backlog has kept me from dropping $15 on it, though--in part because I'm hoping it'll come to PS+ relatively soon for PS3 or Vita (I'd prefer Vita.)

Still worth every penny either way. I still don't have an issue with load times but I guess I don't sit and stare at the screen while these games are doing their initial loads either.

The game is cross-buy/cross-save, so you'd get it for both, not just one or the other. The game is amazing. Super difficult, yes, but so addicting and fun, and so incredibly satisfying when you beat Olmec for the first time - you feel like an uber gamer. And you haven't even really beaten the game yet! LOL. The game is easily worth $15. I have spent way more time on Spelunky than any other game this generation. Just an amazingly good game.

I'm thinking of purchasing the two Corpse Party titles and Spelunky.  That leaves about $15 left to spend if I want to get $10 back from the promotion.  Any recommendations?  I've already purchased and completed some Vita games like Rayman Origins (completed Legends on PC), Walking Dead, Guacamelee, and Super Stardust...

id much rather a game have a long upfront load and then no/minimal loads throughout gameplay than nothing up front but longer loads while youre trying to play personally.

ive still never gotten past the jungle in spelunky, and ive been playing off and on since it came out. i died literally standing on the door to the ice caves once.

I wish EVERY game would take a minute or two (even 10) to load if it meant no load times once the game starts.  I loathe waiting for a game to load for upwards of 30 seconds every time you die or change screens or whatever in a game.

Darksiders 2 had about a 1 second load time every time you paused the game to get to the menu.  That slowly drove me insane over the course of the game.

Yeah thats the worst. I said this before, but i stopped playing JRPGS once Playstation came out because the disc would always have to load every time a battle would commence. Infuckingsane.

You might have ADHD.

Thanks for the info, everyone.

That's a good idea; I'll check out Best Buy tonight. If they don't have any there, I might order one online ($14 + free shipping at Best Buy now).
You have to spend $25 to get free shipping but Standard Shipping is only $1.99 so not a huge deal. No stores around me had any left so I had to order online.

I bought Alien Breed Trilogy from the sale.  A friend and I were going to go through it tonight.  However, after looking at the trophy list it appears you might have to play it in single player to get most of the trophies.  Does anyone happen to know if you can play co-op for the entire thing and have both players able to get the trophies?

I don't think you can even play through the campaign in co-op. There are separate co-op missions and a survival mode.

If you're looking for good co-op twin stick shooters they don't get much better than Dead Nation IMO. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is also really good, but it's not on sale at the moment.

Edit: You might also want to check out The Red Star (PS2 Classic). It's a cross between a beat 'em up and a bullet hell shooter. The controls aren't twin stick, but it's still a great co-op game.

I feel ashamed for not knowing this, and I appreciate any help, TIA:

Can I buy a single "copy" Dead Island GOTY with my plus account, and play LAN/Internet co-op with 2 PS3 in my house (when I eventually get another PS3)?

Yes, you can activate the game on two PS3's (that's the limit now. It used to be five.)

You'll have to log in to your PSN account on the second PS3 to download and activate it, but once the game is activated any user account on either PS3 will have access to it.
