It'll count up until near the end of Tuesday Pacific Time.

How awesome is Sleeping Dogs?  I have it downloaded but it expires mid-March.  I'm tempted to buy it so I don't have to feel pressured to beat it and I could put more time in getting a platinum in Vanquish.  If it's super awesome, then I'll do it.  If it's just regular awesome, I'll just push it and try to beat it by mid-March.

I'm at the $134 mark right now on the cashback promotion, getting DmC tomorrow with something else will push me over the $30 back mark and that'll be good to either get me some PS4 games at launch or pre-order Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus.

After reading everyone's impressions on Hotline Miami I decided to try it out. I liked it and got to chapter 5. It wasn't as random as some made it seem. It's really learning the patterns of the enemies and the best way to chain kills. Usually killing or downing one enemy and immediately throwing my weapon at the next. Thanks for all the tips. Holding L2 and scanning the environment and lock on targeting with square definitely helped. Also, it kind of reminded me of Monaco with the overhead view and gameplay.

why are there no digital preorders (feature) for Tearaway for the US PSN store :/

Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD!
Velocity Ultra
Flying Hamster HD
Bentley's Hackpack
and maybe Atomic Ninjas?

still trying to hit that $50
not sure if I should get Walking Dead Vita
Damn I thought that was some sort of "on sale" list. I'm waiting for most of those to drop before I grab them.

so many hours of my life lost to this. fuck you challenge 6.
Did you ever beat it?

Anyone play Lone Survivor? Was wondering if I should pick it up. Looks intriguing, almost like an Amnesia 2D game but at the same time I'm wondering if it gives any good creeps.

Is the Siren Blood Curse any different than the UK/JPN disc format version?

Also I've had a 30 day PS+ trial in the past, can I just buy another 30 day one to take advantage of these PS+ deals again? I've heard from others that Sony might block you from doing this.

I wish Capcom had put more effort into Resident Evil 4 HD. I think I'll save my $5.60 and dust off the Gamecube instead.
Yeah, I bought it, but it's a pretty lazy port. It's nice to get it on a fuller resolution, but a lot of the audio for the enemies and NPCs sound like they were made through a broken tape recorder.

I've heard Siren is censored, but others have said it's not that noticable.

I've used multiple trials on my account in the past and have not had any issues.

it creeps the hell out of me. I've been slowly playing it since it came out because something about it just gets under my skin.

I'm not a big spender, but I bought enough last week that I need $17.49 more to hit $50 to get $10. I'll have to buy Tuesday morning to avoid getting home late from work and waiting to the last minute.

I've never played them before, but based on reviews and gameplay videos... Fatal Frame 1 & 2 for $4 + Siren Blood Curse for $10 look decent leaving me $3.49 short of $50. There's nothing else I want in the upcoming sale. I suppose I could cave on Darkstalkers Resurrection, but I'm tired of arcade game ports of Street Fighter like fighting games. If I've already got SF IV Arcade, Tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4 and 5, Virtua Fighter 5, Mortal Kombat Collection, Dead or Alive 5, Double Dragon Neon, BlazBlue (both), and various others, do I really need Darkstalkers Resurrection which I've never played?

Can anyone suggest any decent $3.50-$5 action games not on this week's sale list? Unfortunately I don't see any way to browse games sorted by price on the PSN site. I've wanted to buy Aqua, but that appears to buy Xbox Live only.

I would also buy Bloodrayne Betrayal for $2.50 but I can't because I got it for free with PSN+ and Sony blocks you from buying it once you get it for PSN+. I have PSN+ now, but I won't have it forever.

Anyone got any opinions on Lone Survivor?
I've never played it, but I watched some gameplay videos. All I know is that I'm too spoiled by HD graphics that I have trouble playing anything with blocky 8-bit graphics, so I'll pass on it.

So with the purchase I made just now of a bunch of Sleeping Dogs DLC, FF 3 for PSP/Vita, and Harley Quinn for Arkham City by my calculations I've spent $265 on PSN in the last month with 1/2 of that from selling all of my PSP RPG's on Amazon and rebuying them as PSN downloads for my Vita once the Amazon money came in. Also sold my hard copies of Fatal Frame 1-3 and bought the PSN versions before the sale. Also bought Persona 2 PS1 Classic, The Wolf Among Us Season Pass, Chronicles of Mystara/Okami HD on sale, and 3 Madden NFL 25 BCA Ultimate Team packs.

I'll take my BF 4 Premium for PS4 free thanks to Sony! :)

Get off my lawn.

I'm at $294.94 spent this month...should I buy a 50 cent avatar to be safe? Just want to make sure I get the $10 for spending $300

Edit: I actually meant I was on $299.94

Lone Survivor is a very atmospheric action adventure.  The gameplay harkens back to the NES/SNES era and I personally find that cool because that is the system that I grew up with.  That game is creepy psychological thriller with a protagonist that just might be going insane.  Great game to play on the vita with the lights turned off and headphones on.  This kind of game feels right on the Vita.  With so many other games in my PS3 backlog (ahem... TLoU ), I don't see myself playing Lone Survivor on the big screen.  I bought it at launch and played the first hour or so.  Those with a vita should consider picking it up.

I might pick up Doom 3 BFG today when the sale hits.  Did you know it includes Doom 1 and Doom 2?  I remember playing the heck out of the Doom 1 demo back in Junior High.  Played it 30 minutes at a time before my mom got home on the family pc.   That game created such a buzz when it came out.  I didn't know what to expect.  I had never played a game like that before.  For $8 it seems like a really good deal to have the whole package.  I'm pretty much a console gamer.  Though this might look better / load faster on a PC, to be able to play it on my console is a win for me.

You qualified for $50.
The promo only goes up to $100...says so right in the fine print.

Edit: NM, I misread this:

"For Every $50 USD Spent using your SEN Wallet through October 29th, 2013, you’ll receive a $10 USD credit back by November 8th, 2013 (up to a total of $100 USD credit) to spend on games, movies, TV shows, music and anything else that accepts SEN Wallet funds*! Use that Bonus credit toward a new release on your wish list. Jump on this limited-time offer by making a purchase with your SEN Wallet today!"

When will Sony start the 10/29 sale items? It's past 6 AM PST and nothing has changed. I have to go to work in a few hours, and I won't get home until 10 PM PST which is cutting it closer than I'd like to buy a few more things for the $10 for $50 deadline.

When the store updates at 2pm PST today.

?

Frisky typically waits to update the OP until the store has updated, which is usually around 2PM PST, so I'm not sure what you are talking about :whistle2:k
yeah? For some reason I've been under the impression that they are posted generally the day before, but CERTAINLY not after the store updates. I know this because if he waited that long then I'd just check the store itself at that point lol...

The OP contains the upcoming deal in the upcoming deals section. Frisky links to the sony online store directly when the sale hits. It would be misleading, incorrect, and not possible in some cases to create the links before the sale starts.

The point of this thread to highlight deals that I personally think would be harder to find by navigating the online store. Direct links to free themes, discounted DLC, and unadvertised price drops makes this thread very useful. I think of it like a change log for the sony store and find it very helpful.

I'm at $294.94 spent this month...should I buy a 50 cent avatar to be safe? Just want to make sure I get the $10 for spending $300
You should probably buy a $5 game and a $0.50 avatar so you can get $60 back.

How would he know what's in the update to post it before the update is up?

Lone Survivor seems cool. I bought it at release for the PS+ discount, but while I liked it, I got drawn right back to Spelunky and didn't touch it again since. One of these days Spelunky will die down for me… and then they'll update it with the Daily Challenge. LOL.

Actually, I'm not entirely convinced we're going to get the Daily Challenge. I think mossmouth just thought it was possible, but since they weren't doing the port I don't know that he knew what he was talking about. I will keep my fingers crossed, though.

When the store updates at 2pm PST today.
Thanks. I went back and noticed the fine print on the OP which I'd never noticed before. Today is the first time when I'm working against a deadline as I normally wait until the weekend to buy stuff. My work monitors Internet traffic, and while they will accept Google, Slickdeals, Amazon, and certain stores in limited amount, they have flags that trigger any time the word Xbox or Playstation/PS3 goes by so I get flagged even though nothing has happened yet the few times I've done it. Sony is so slow they won't update until I'm at work which means I can't buy anything until I get home after 10 PM PST. Well, I just got a smartphone and barely know how to use it, but I could try that. I wonder how many hundreds of megabytes of my tiny 2 GB limit Sony's web site would suck down with their massive graphics to buy a handful of games.

If I don't buy my games until 10-11 PM PST, will I still be OK with the $10 on $50 promo or will that be too close to the deadline? Does Sony go by PST or EST timezone?

Too bad I can't think of another good game to buy (something not in this week's sale list) for $3.50 to $5. I'll probably just cave and buy Flashback at $9.99 even though I know it'll be $5 soon if I buy at $10. My only other alternative is Powerup Forever for $4.99.

How awesome is Sleeping Dogs? I have it downloaded but it expires mid-March. I'm tempted to buy it so I don't have to feel pressured to beat it and I could put more time in getting a platinum in Vanquish. If it's super awesome, then I'll do it. If it's just regular awesome, I'll just push it and try to beat it by mid-March.
it is between super and regular awesome. Unless you have an Asian fetish then it is super duper awesome.

You should be OK. Its has been mentioned several times in this thread and on the PS blog that you have until midnight PST to make your purchases to qualify for the promo.

On Amazon the LoS collection is $40, which seems high. I never played it and really want to, but like most of y'all, I'll wait for the inevitable $20 drop.
Zavvi has a steelbook edition for around $30 (as long as you have a EU account for the vouchers).

To those that have played Costume Quest, is it an appropriate game for a five-year-old to play? His gaming experience is basically original Mario, Lego Batman, and watching me play Unfinished Swan. Want to expand his horizons and CQ looks pretty kid friendly.
I know you've already made your mind up on this one, but I just have to go on record and agree with everyone else. Played through it with both my son and daughter (5 and 6). They both loved it and asked for it damn near every day.

What does turning off the lights do for a game? Make me think I'm 5 again and things will appear to get me?

Can anyone suggest any decent $3.50-$5 action games not on this week's sale list? Unfortunately I don't see any way to browse games sorted by price on the PSN site. I've wanted to buy Aqua, but that appears to buy Xbox Live only.
Do you have infamous: festival of blood? it will be $4. It is a standalone downloadable like Far Cry: Blood Dragon so you don't need to have Infamous 2 in order to play it.

Removes distractions from your environment, focus your attention on the game. The game is kinda dark and turning off the lights makes it just pop. Why do they turn off the lights in a movie theater?

Games like Doom 3 are definitely better with the lights out and the volume up. Bummer the PS3 version is just a port and not an HD remaster... the 3D models all look nice at higher resolutions but the environmental textures are low res and look like shit up close. Its such a dark/atmospheric game that after a bit it die bother me, but its a bummer knowing how much better it can look on PC with a little modding.

Also, the trophy list is about as obnoxious as it could be. 66 bronze trophies and a Platinum.

Anyone having trouble making purchases on the web store? I keep trying to check out but it keeps saying "sign in failed" and then logs me off. Rinse and repeat.
