Awful week. Limbo was just $6, now it's on sale again for $12.

As awesome as August was with sales (I spent probably $50+), September has been equally awful. I don't recall getting many deep discounts on games either this month. Supposedly we have better sales than EU to make up for that fact that their IGC is 10x better, but we didn't get any good sales this month.
Second time this month there was a repeat 'sale' that was much worst then the previous week one. Same thing happen with Retro City Rampage, where it PAX sale was good, but when it went on sale the next week, it was double in price.

So just wondering PSN wise, what are you guys going to do for next gen? Digital or Physical? I mean I've bought a good amount digitally due to sales and I'm almost all digital now on the Vita (just need to finish LBP) but I'm not sure about next gen. I guess I can wait for good sales as I prefer digital but I may have to turn and burn a few games at launch and thereafter which might make more sense to buy the physical versions for re-sell options. I guess I just don't want to pay $60 for a digital game that I'd probably just sell when I was done with anyway. I hope price drops quickly follow suit digitally this upcoming gen.

Ehh, was really hoping to pay $10 for Lone Survivor. I guess this isn't much more with the Plus discount. I've read some positive reviews, but I'm not sure. Anyone check this out on PC?

Same as this gen: whatever's cheaper although physical for games I really love.

Same here as well. I usually buy phyical copies for all games that I love. Besides, we don't even know how big these next-gen games are for downloading. Could be 50 GB. Could be 100 GB. I remember when I had 56 free GB left on my PS3 slim when Uncharted 3 was available for free for Plus members, but it wouldn't let me download it because I didn't have enough space. Uncharted 3 was a 40 GB download, so I needed 80 GB free for it to download. I found out later that I could have saved some room by not downloading a couple of language packs (a few GB of savings), and the 2D or 3D videos (which I needed both since I do have a 3D TV). I can see the next-generation games being bigger than this easily. It would take 2 days to download 100 + GB.

With the EU Plus members getting Far Cry 3, Dragon's Dogma Arisen, Assassins Creed 3 and other great offerings, this month's Plus offering and sales are just down right atrocious!!!

There was always a danger of Sony not supporting Plus with great titles like they have in the pass now that Plus is mandatory for PS4 owners. Lets face it... How many people here, or know of anyone, who don't go online at all with their PS3? It's pretty much mandatory if you own a PS4.

Those are for next month though are they not? I know it's probably worthless to hope we get as good an offering, but maybe US+ will surprise us with a great October lineup.

One can hope at least...

Physical, but I don't see me getting involved in the next gen consoles until 2015, maybe Black Friday 2014. Buying digital games (that also have a physical release) ends up with me having buyer's regret too often. Rayman Origins (Vita) this week is a perfect example. If I had been wise enough to buy the retail version I could have resold it and probably made close to $10 back on it.

I mostly been buying digital lately because of the all the good sales on PSN. I'll buy both physical and digital, which ever is cheaper at the moment. I have been thinking about going straight digital since I rarely trade in my games but I like to have that option especially since there so many games I want to play that's coming out. If I decide get next-gen, I'll probably do physical since physical disk tend to drop in price sooner than digital.

That's a little odd, and different from my own issue, but maybe there's a similar thread there. PSN has a glitch where if you buy a game bundle containing a game you've claimed for "free" on PS+, the expiration date gets messed up -- it happened for me with three separate games (Costume Quest, M:tG DotP and Virtua Fighter 5). In a nutshell, rather than eliminating the expiration date altogether as a paid purchase should, it locks the expiration date in place instead; if you extend your PS+ subscription, the messed up games still expire and vanish when the old subscription would have lapsed. Same thing has happened to a lot of people who claimed the first two free Walking Dead episodes and then bought the full bundle.

Your situation is a little different but I'm wondering if it may be related (since U1 and U2 were never PS+ freebies). Did you by chance claim the PS+ free hour trial for either one before you purchased the bundle?

Sony was responsive when I reported the problem, but their solution was to erase all three purchases from my history and refund my money, which took about ten days to process. I don't think they have the faintest clue how to squash this glitch.
I just got done talking to a PS rep and I think you're right. Seemed a bit clueless on the subject. Said he was issuing a refund request but that it wasn't guaranteed to happen. Then went on to tell me to download the game and language packs in the meantime. Guess he forgot the part where I can't download the game because its not there. Then he suggested I sign up for PlayStation plus. lol Makes me wonder how much info they even have on their system for customer accounts. Oh well, a single account issue since buying from the PS store since PS3 launch isn't bad. But I've also had 0 problems on steam in a longer timeline. 360 was problem after problem, though, and I felt like I talked to an xbox live support person a couple of times a month.

What are the odds that we'll ever see the Daily Challenge in Spelunky PS3/Vita? Is that not possible due to publishing issues or something? I really wish we had that feature. :(
I tried to figure that out before buying it because it sounds freaking amazing. While there's no confirmation I found I think they're pretty low since it's the main draw to buying the PC version.

first month I've felt like PS+ wasn't a great value. freebies were kinda lame, sales were awful.
At least there's Rayman which is well worth the monthly cost, we just don't have the overflowing horn of plenty.

I'm not too upset about the lack of games this month. I literally cannot stop playing Spelunky on Vita. Sometimes it makes me so mad when I die from the stupidest thing, like forgetting to check down before dropping and landing on some spikes. I'm consistently making it to the ice world now from the beginning, and most of the time I can get through it pretty easy if I have a compass and a cape. That damn jungle is the worst though.

Found a conversation on the playstation blog from Mossmouth and they said Daily Challenge is a possibility for PSN Spelunky and they were going to talk to BlitWorks. So there's a hope at least?

My Vita is unresponsive. The screen is black but the PS button is lit up. Anyone know what's wrong or how to fix it? I've tried holding down the power button and nothing happens.

Never mind, didn't know you could hold the power button down for 30 seconds.

For the people who are into that kind of thing and that it would factor into their purchase decision:

Lone Survivor has a platinum

1 platinum, 3 gold, 15 silver, 18 bronze

That does pique my interest. I also read a blog post about how the creator of the game has really put a lot of thought and effort into the trophies.

I knew your resolve to quit trophies wouldn't last.
It's more about quitting playing non-awesome games and willing to stop going for trophies that take too much time. For example, I am not going to go for any creator trophies in LBP Vita but I am going for all the single player trophies.

I love the music in that trailer.

That is confusing. Do only PS3 purchases count or is it all purchase on PSN? Like Vita? PS1? Anything? The page makes it sound like it is PS3 games only, but maybe they are just talking PS3, but it applies to everything? So confused.

it says

for every $50 you spend using your SEN Wallet, you’ll receive a $10 credit back (up to $100)

Pick up some new games, movies, TV shows or anything else that accepts SEN Wallet funds to become eligible.Pick up a 1-year membership for $49.99, get $10 back etc...

Ah. They were talking PS3 pre-orders in the same post and leave out mention of Vita pre-orders. For example Arkham Origins Blackgate. That was the source of confusion.

Does anyone from the previous "Spend 50 get 10 back" deal if the physical PS+ cards qualify for these promotions?  I'm guessing not because they specifically say "SEN wallet" but I just want to make sure.

Previous sales this wouldn't count towards money spent. Only thing that come from your SEN wallet.

Welp, the spend $50 get $10 has made up my mind on Lone Survivor.. I'm in. Also getting the CoD DLC this week so I'll be halfway to my first gift card. I hope the Bioshock Infinite DLC drops in this time frame, too.

$10 for $50 is nice, hope enough games go on sale at lowest-seen prices. Doesn't really make sense to buy full price, since most games would see a 20% off at some point.

Why don't you just buy the season pass?
I already bought the first piece of it separately. I pretty much never buy season passes. Even though I pay more in the long run, spreading out the higher cost over several months works better for me, financially. Plus I get to skip over pieces of the pass that are useless to me.
