Holy Shit! Wow. I don't own any of those...good stuff. I'm really happy about Contrast instead of Drive Club since I'm more interested in that and I haven't ordered any games for my incoming PS4. If people still want to complain about PS+ being worth it they are bat shit insane. Not to mention games with Gold for November are A World Of Keflings and Iron Brigade, 2 $10 Arcade games. So yeah it could be a hell of lot worse. PS+ for life!
It's funny, PS+ posted their update about 20 minutes after Major Nelson posted the Games with Gold update. Wonder if that was intentional so they could blow Games with Gold out of the water. Probably not, but would have been cool if that was their plan.

I really like what Sony has done with PS+ and their Vitas. Love the PS3 too for blurays.

Also really love my Vita. It might not have the greatest games but damn I love how awesome games look on it.

Way to piss all over me Sony, never played Soul Sacrifice after buying it like two or three months ago and now you're giving it to me for free! Bet they knew I bought BD from GS during the 50% off sale two months ago as well.

Too bad this won't be the norm though and we won't be getting seven games a month now, what a value that would be. Now I need to find a cheap copy of Dragon's Dogma or "rent" it from GS so I can have a save file and get the bonus stuff.

The story is crazy dark dealing with rape, genocide, treason and blackmail. All this with the language makes up the M rating. The game looks good and plays great on the Vita.
I guess I'm the only one that actually liked the story, as it gave me more of a reason to keep playing since I've never been one to shoot for high scores or anything. To each their own I suppose, but I thought the game as a whole was great.
 :D/ :applause:
I played Sine Mora on PC and haven't tried the Vita version yet so maybe it won't hold up quite as well on the small screen but I loved the game. I'm terrible at shumps but found this one just the right amount of accessible and challenging. The story I actually liked but the usual level of Grasshopper confusing doesn't mesh well with the game style. Even paying attention to it most of the story bits were really confusing and only made any sense towards the end of the game after the payoff. Still I could barely tell you much beyond the big picture of the plot.

I played some Sine Mora last night. I find the backgrounds make the your ship and bullets and such hard to see. But more important it has some dumb story that keeps interrupting the action over and over again. I think I spend as much time just holding down the left trigger as I do playing the game. And the M rating is ludicrous. I mean it deserves it, but the only reason it's M rated is because there are F bombs and such in the "story". It's a freaking bullet-hell shooter. Story. You've got to be kidding me.
I bet you only play rpg's for the battle system, don't you.

Based on all I read and see, Binary Domain is a normal 3rd person cover based shooter except for the fact that the robots you shoot can blow up peice by peice and its supposed to look fairly cool. I played a bit of the demo if i remember right a while ago and was debating picking it up recently. Glad i waited.

Why do they tease us with Vita only plus games like Sine Mora and now Oddworld SW? I dont have a Vita dammit. And I dont need one...yet.
Who's teasing? Add them to your account and when you finally get a Vita, you'll have a ton of free games ready to go.

soul sacrifice - 1.7GB

I'm pleasantly surprised at how many here are so excited for this lineup.  Not too much for me since I'm not getting a PS4 right away, but I have a huge backlog of games that will now only be added to with these PS+ additions.

I also am starting to feel like almost every Vita game that can be bought physically is given away on PS+.  I'm not complaining, mind you, but more and more it seems like the only way I'll buy Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate, Tearaway, and Killzone: Mercenery instead of waiting for them to show up on PS+ is if they're on a BIG discount (I'm looking at you, $5 MK: Komplete Edition on a PSN sale!) :)

All these people saying that it's going to be a great month. Then EU will get Ass Creed 4 or something and we'll be back to the "US never gets anything good!"

I am afraid to look at how much space is left on my 250 GB PS3. I don't need to look at how much space I have left on my Vita. Can't fit either of those. But of course I'm going to dump Sine Mora as soon as either of those is out. :)

Just remembered I can "buy" those PS4 games even though I don't have a PS4 any time soon! For future PS4! Woot! :)

Delete game install data.

Awesome month!  The only two I already own are ibb & obb and Binary Domain, but I've been debating Dragon's Dogma and Soul Sacrifice.  More games to sit on my HD/memory card and not play!!!  :bouncy:

If you can find a way it's definitely fun to have a 1TB drive - I have the whole PS+ collection and everything I've purchased digitally on it currently - 104 games I think. It's also a disturbing reminder that a digital backlog is still a backlog. Sometimes I'll just jump from game to game for a couple hours because I can.

Nice, I've always wanted to play Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and its great that we are getting the re-release instead of the original vanilla version.

The GWG offerings are a complete joke compared to plus, not sure why MS even bothers. But hey, free is free I guess.

I'm stoked for Binary Domain. I already have the game but can never find anyone online for the co-op Horde-like mode called Invasion, so this should breathe new life into the community. I knew this was going to join the IGC eventually - Sega is the faithful wife to PlayStation Plus members. If there is another company that supports PS+ more than they do, I don't know of it.

I'm only on a 750GB drive but I agree a bigger drive will set you free :)

I dont normally plan online, but I might try some if I like the game. Blowing shit up is always fun.

7 games and that doesn't even include the Vita refresh? Make me think we might not be getting a Vita refresh later this month, but with Soul Sacrifice and Oddworld, I'm still more than happy!
i say sony takes a massive dump on the vita

starting in Dec pulls all 3 games for the vita and puts out stuff for the ps4 in the vita spots mostly leaving the VITA out of the psn anymore.

Whoa great line up. This confirms that I need to stop buying PlayStation games. I got the original Dragon's Dogma, Soul Sacrifice a couple months ago in a PSN sale, and Binary Domain at GS for about $5.

All these people saying that it's going to be a great month. Then EU will get Ass Creed 4 or something and we'll be back to the "US never gets anything good!"
I think they've already gotten all of their November games. Vita: Strangers Wrath, Motorstorm RC, PS3: Metal Gear Rising, Remember Me

Only one from that list I would want (and that we're not getting) would be Remember Me, but I'm guessing that's a $10-15 title come Black Friday, otherwise I'm waiting for the $10 sale at Gamefly.

Happy to see Binary Domain since it's one that's gotten as far as my cart a few times but I never pulled the trigger. Didn't care for the demo of Dragon's Dogma but I'll give the refresh a chance, see if my mood has changed.

I can't even begin to clear up my Vita backlog, and that includes the retail games I own. Still need to finish Persona 4 Golden, but if there was one retail Vita game to own, I would say it's still Hot Shots Golf. Probably the game that has logged the most hours on my Vita.

Of course, I keep expecting it to hit the IGC (especially to help sell that DLC).

I'm still using my 250 GB HD on my PS3. I currently have 160 games on my PS3 folder and 25 GB free. I'm just pushing through the backlog and deleting as games are completed. Most of the large games I have on disc so that's always good on space.

Every time I read one of Slidecage's posts I picture a fat kid with asthma who has to pause after every couple of words to catch his breath.  It's the only way to explain the unusual spacing he does.

So happy I didn't buy Stranger's Wrath last time it went on sale.  Can't wait to get it on the Vita.

Man, with the exception of Hotline Miami I haven't felt compelled to download a single PS+ game in about 2 months. This month, however? Just wow. I want to try ALL of these. Good shit!!

I was completely taken by surprise by the backlash from the whole mp3/streaming thing - maybe Sony was genuinely surprised too. It's not like they have a little background process on the ps3 that records what everyone does on their systems (do they?). They really seem like they're trying to reverse that image of arrogance from the PS3 launch and at least kinda listening to consumers and reacting accordingly to things lately (DRM, HDMI out recording, love of indies, continuation of free games on to PS4, etc) so I'd give them time.

If I were to make a wild guess, I expect the simplest answer is probably the most likely - they were looking for ways to cut costs to hit $400 and skipping media features to avoid licensing MP3 or DLNA or whatever tech was agreed upon in a conference room because it both helps promote their music/video services and cuts per system costs. It's a good business decision for them if they expected not enough people would care.

But I'm to this day surprised to learn that people still pirate movies/mp3s, so what do I know.
Who said anything about pirating music and movies?

And, at this scale of production, licensing fees are negligible. Maybe ~$1.50 a machine? Plus, nothing is stopping them from supporting other (patent free) audio formats. That is, unless you buy into the "OS instability" theory. Also, DLNA and CD compatibility cost them nothing.

If this was a business decision, I don't believe it came from the Playstation side of things. Way too shortsighted a move after all of the good will they've built up (still can't believe how amazing PS+ is). I do think they'll make it right, though, especially after the backlash. Just hoping it's sooner rather than later.

To those bitching about DLNA and other media capabilities: https://mobile.twitter.com/yosp/status/395661158205501440?screen_name=yosp

And, if you're not trashing your PS3, why is this a big deal? I mean, it's not like PS4 comes into the living room and murders your PS3, while ripping its media capable innards.
That tweet is old and vague. But, yes, it appears they got wind of the complaints and will hasten the patch (I hope, at least). Also, is it necessary to characterize someone's complaint as "bitching"? I'll never understand the phenomenon of bitching about "bitching". If trophies were arbitrarily dropped, most of you would die of a heart attack. I, on the other hand, couldn't care less. To each his own.

And, yes, when I finally buy into to next gen, the ps3 is going straight to the bedroom. I barely have enough hdmi slots open as it is. Repeat after me, "multi-media-device". It shouldn't matter that I can hook up other things. I DON'T want to. Thanks for the decorating advice, though.

Can't wait til what December brings. Shots fired again when they revealed November's PS+ IGC releases. While Major Nelson posted Keflings and Iron Brigade for the Games for Gold promotion (which I think it's the final month since they said they will do this until the XBox One gets released)

$1.50 a machine is astronomical.

They extended the Games with Gold promo indefinitely.

That comment was actually meant as a 'look how out of touch I am' thing not a 'everyone that uses ps3 media features is a filthy pirate' thing. Nor would I give a shit anyways. But I should know better than to make contextually irrelevant comments like that, frightfully sorry.

Have you ever noticed that you participate in a forum dedicated to, let me say it eloquently, videogame deals? And that, before it is a "multimedia device", the PlayStation 4 is a gaming console? Yes? No? Also, in my rather short post, I presume you read that I wrote trophies in some kind of invisible ink. Kudos to you, sir. The tweets are a rather considerate way of letting consumers know their voice is been heard, no matter how "old" you deem they are. There is a time and place to "complain", since you don't bitch, but instead you are indeed rather close to "whining". They never said they wouldn't add, it just is a set of features not yet available. And in the case they are not available, considering the gamut of devices capable of running media, why is that even considered detrimental?

I don't think eloquently means what you think it means.

I will say that it would be nice to have media streaming still but across this generation I think I used it maybe twice. More features are always nice to have but I'm buying it to play games and Sony knows that. It's always a small vocal minority that actually cares about these features and an ever smaller fringe of that minority that actually uses them and these companies know that. At least now there's a myriad of inexpensive devices meant to do just that where when this generation started you would have spent as much as the console to get a dedicated device like that.

bless you for using 'there's a myriad of inexpensive devices' instead of what seems to be the new acceptable standard 'there's myriad inexpensive devices'. why must npr fuck with my notions of noun plurality??? what am I talking about???

US PS+ is such a terrible service. I cancelled my sub with this announcement to send them a message.

[customspoiler='More Ranting In Here']If you thought that was serious, you're dumb. :p[/customspoiler]

Saw P4G on sale in the title, clicked through to nothing remotely related. Was it announced somewhere?
It's listed in the OP right under Vita Games:

Persona 4 Golden - $19.99 - 33% Off

It's a Grasshopper/Suda51 game. The story is guaranteed to be weird and adult-themed.
It's actually not. Grasshopper published it, but the game was made by a Hungarian studio called Digital Reality.

Save for when they first introduced the ICG, this is probably the best lineup US PS+ has ever had. Freaking stoked!

I believe it's the story that has made skeptics big fans of the game. I have it on Xbox 360, but haven't played enough to see exactly what story stuff people were raving about.

I use the media server stuff every single day, especially to watch all of the new daily Giant Bomb videos on my TV. It's an incredibly useful feature and the fact that the PS4 won't support it is a big disappointment for me, but that means that I'll be using my PS3 all day and turning on my PS4 when I want to use it rather than the other way around until they add it in a future firmware update.

I may have other devices that could do it, but none of them do it nearly as well as the PS3 does it. That's why I want the PS4 to offer that so it's the main thing I turn on every day to play games and watch my media.

I think we should all be more concerned about #2 than playing mp3s and videos. Anyway I never use those features since I have an htpc so I don't care.

Square-Enix definitely does their part ^_^

I'm still not sure why you think mp3 playback and local media streaming fall outside the realm of core features. Simply because you don't use them? Obviously enough of a shitstorm was raised that someone from Sony responded (albeit vaguely). This is a $400 multimedia device that cannot play the most rudimentary of file types.

Neither one us knows exactly why they've made these omissions, but it's pretty damn naive to suggest "OS stability". I mean. What?

As far as the update timeline, why do they explicitly mention other forthcoming features while saying absolutely nothing about this, lol? And the blind PS3 updates are a bad comparison since they probably added most of that stuff as they went along.

I certainly hope they patch these things in, but I won't believe it was always a part the plan. If we can freely criticize Microsoft here for their supposed anti-consumer policies, we should be able to do the same to Sony. It's all love. :)
How are they core features when they're not in the PS4 OS at launch? I get the feeling that you're using "core features" to mean features that you expect every consoles to offer out of the box when I'm using it to mean the set of features that were announced as the main features for what the PS4 would offer. MP3 playback and media server functionality are obviously not core features if they're not in there.

Offering a stable build of the OS at launch is the highest priority of the team that is handling that stuff, so they're not going to add things that aren't ready yet just for the sake of a bullet point. They want to minimize the risk of catastrophic bugs as much as possible to avoid ruining the user experience when everybody first gets their new consoles.

What omissions did they make? It's the launch OS for a brand new console. There are only additions being made to it from the very basic stuff it did in the firmwares before 1.50. These are two things that they have not added in yet, plain and simple. If you want to make it out to be some conspiracy, go right ahead, but I won't participate in that discussion.

They talked about other features that were previously announced. They never announced MP3 support or media server support for the PS4. They were pretty specific when talking about media to only mention apps and their video store back in February and since then.

Blind PS3 updates? Following the launch of the PS3, they offered incremental updates to add features and improve things in the launch OS that were a part of their timeline for updating the system, which mainly focused on the big PS1/PS2 BC feature. That's true of every system out there since they're always unable to have every single feature ready for launch. You can go on Wikipedia and see how the PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, Vita, and even the Wii U were handled post-launch.

Nowhere did I say you can't criticize Microsoft or Sony, but the Microsoft discussion was pretty far off-topic for this thread and veered into the fanboy discussion that probably should not have happened in the first place.

Not to take the debate further down the rabbit hole but it would be nice if PS1 disc support was on the PS4 since a toaster could probably run those games now and it was all software based emulation on the PS3. In any event with so much PS3 content I plan on keeping both hooked up anyway. If anything leaves my TV setup it's the 360 first. :)
