Well finally pulled the trigger on Tomb Raider bundle. Too good of a deal to pass up. Not sure if I'll try that or Quantum Conundrum first….

Is there only season one for PS4 PA at the start, or are you only getting a discount on season 1 and season 2 is full price regardless? Not that I have a PS4….

My understanding from reading the blog post is that only Season 1 is available at launch, with Season 2 tables coming later.

Ah, well I hope they offer a discount on future season as well, including season 3, etc, and that the discounts aren't only available for a limited time. I'm looking at at least a year before I get a PS4, possibly 2 years. I hope by then I can get all available seasons at a discount if I have them on PS3 (which I will).

Info on The Pinball Arcade for PS4 was posted on the blog.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/12/16/pinball-arcade-out-tomorrow-on-ps4/

50% off season one packs if you already own all the tables on PS3, 10% off for Plus members (I assume there is 0% chance of this stacking).

Assuming the PS4 bundle is the same price as PS3, that'll be $15 to get them all again. Kind of steep given Zen's completely free offerings, but I'll probably bite because I'm weak.
Kind of lame that the discounts for previous owners are only for those that owned the entire season packs, but whatever. I ordered the disc version from Amazon anyway.

I love this stupid game and the care and work they've put in to the tables. happy about the discount, but I would've had trouble resisting at full price.

Damn...

Did Sony ever explain why they do that ridiculous thing with their game downloads? Doesn't make any since that they have the better hardware yet Xbox does download and install in one and the PS3 system requires you to have double the space. Clearly a short sighted decision. Does the PS4 still do that as well?
That has very little to do with the hardware.

Hardware is only part of the battle. Gear heads with a flair for Sony forget that so easily.

The demos I watched said that both Sony and MS have one progress instance for download/install. Both systems allow you to begin play while a disc/download installs as well from what I saw.

I'm kind of excited for it to come, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna buy it. Played the heck out of it on Xbox Live, if I can talk a few PSN buddies into it it'll be a great time.

And lol, I think a better analogy would be they pulled an Atelier Meruru Plus (That game literally got ninja released on the store, then actually still sold well enough to warrant the sequels)

I also enjoy what they do, but I definitely would have found $30 hard to swallow. I've been excited for the PS4 release since IGN gave it a glowing review a few weeks back. $15 isn't too bad since they presumably put a lot of work into it, I've just been super spoiled so far with free PS4 versions of games I already own.

Been waiting for a good deal on Spelunky, and $3.75 for cross buy is an insane deal. It seems like the perfect kind of game for the Vita.
Anyone play both versions have some thoughts? I've bought the game and want to start it but imagine that precision platforming will be kind of annoying with the tiny face buttons of the Vita....

I have and do. It plays great on the Vita. Don't fret it. It's cross-buy anyway so why not just try it? At first I did have problems with accidentally lobbing bombs. I suspect you'll do the same until you get use to it. The buttons are closer together than on a DS3. You do adjust, though. Just takes a little while.

Also, if you get the chance, play coop PS3+Vita (or more than one Vita). It is fantastic!

I thought Limbo was cross buy? Or is that an Europe thing?
Yeah, it used to be. I think they stealthly removed it, because I don't see it mentioned on either of the Limbo PSN pages. Kind of a jackass move to include it for while then secretly get rid of it.

GoW Ascension has already been close to $10, if not $10 exactly during previous Gamefly sales.  I don't think $10 for the digital version is all that great of a deal.  Especially since it's also the worst GoW game in my opinion.

It does support Cross Buy.

Wow, not a whole lot of fanfare for Minecraft. Just one day advanced notice. It will sell like crazy.
It probably came in hot through certification so that they couldn't announce a date any sooner.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/12/16/minecraft-hits-ps3-december-17th-in-north-america/comment-page-1/#comment-930919

Minecraft does have a Platinum trophy, so I hope it does have more trophies than the XBLA version had for achievements. They also confirmed texture packs, though I hope they have better ones in the works than the lame Mass Effect pack that they released for the XBLA version.

It does support Cross Buy.
The text on the PS3 page does not mention it being cross-buy. It does not show up in the list of games under cross-buy in the web store. It has specific entries for Vita and PS3 separate on the store. It also is listed separately with no cross-buy marking in the sale post on the blog.

If it was cross-buy before, it sure seems like it is not now.

I bought it while it was on sale over the summer and I definitely got both versions. I don't know why they would intentionally remove that support.

Edit: Morgan seems to confirm that it's not. I don't know why the developer would want to remove that support to give people less of a reason to get either version.

If any of you bought One Piece Pirate Warriors 2, you might want to check the DLCs; there are some free costumes that can be downloaded on PSN.

Thanks, think I'll give it a go on Vita for now and switch if I have any issues. I've played co op Guacamelee w PS3 and Vita and it is a blast, imagine it will be even better with Spelunky

Added all of the PS+ deals for this week to the OP. I'm surprised how much good stuff is out this week with Terraria, Minecraft, Pinball Arcade, Zen Pinball 2, Bit.Trip Presents... Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, flOw, Mutant Mudds Deluxe, Toki Tori, and that's before we get to the deals.

Just an FYI. Everyone that was planning on installing TN-V4 for homebrew had better get to downloading 101 in 1 megamix before it's taken down from psn. I noticed that the ninja release has been made public so there is probably very little time left before it is removed.
CFW talk isn't allowed on CAG, so you might want to delete your post.

I thought it was weird to announce one day before as well. I'm excited to try it out, since my PC sucks and I haven't played it yet. If the launch price is right, I may have to bite. I'll probably wait until the inevitable sale though, since NHL 14 has consumed my life now.
It should be $19.99 like it is on XBLA. I don't believe the XBLA version has been on sale yet in the year and a half that it has been out, so you'd be basically committing to never buying it.

It should be $19.99 like it is on XBLA. I don't believe the XBLA version has been on sale yet in the year and a half that it has been out, so you'd be basically committing to never buying it.

Some additional news on the new releases:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/12/16/pinball-arcade-out-tomorrow-on-ps4/

The holidays are here, and we’re happy to be launching Pinball Arcade on PS4 tomorrow! We’ve been working hard all year on remastering and relighting the classic pinball tables in our game to take advantage of the PS4′s power. And you’re getting a table on PS4 for free.

That table happens to be one of the best pinballs of all time, Tales of the Arabian Nights, which was designed and manufactured by Williams in 1996. We can’t wait for people to try it who may never have tried pinball before. Pinball is a much deeper game than some people think.

Since we first released the Season One tables on PS3 and PS Vita, we’ve been making fixes and improvements to our engine and each table. These fixes will soon be released for those platforms in a big patch that should be out in January. The PS4 version will get this updated gameplay on day one.
The PS3 and Vita versions are going to be patched in a few weeks to get the upgrades to the engine and tables that they've been working on for a while now. The PS4 version will be a free game with Tales of the Arabian Nights included in the base game, which I enjoyed a lot in the PS3/Vita versions.

Well this is where I wash my hands of Knack and rescind my earlier assumption that finishing the plat would be easy. No proper new game + so to play very hard you're starting from scratch aside from whatever forms you had already completed. If you want to continue your existing game with your existing stuff then you can only do so on the same difficulty and as far as I can tell you can't even change your form. You have to find all the treasure rooms in one play through but I still haven't gotten all the parts for the gadget that helps you find them even though I had 12/10 parts for Brittle Knack after beating the game and all but one chest in the first eight levels of my second play through gave me more parts for Brittle Knack. Maybe I'll go back and get some of the quick ones you can do from the chapter select but I'm not doing two more trips through plus the other trophies for the plat. I would rather send off my locked in trade to BBY for $40 tomorrow.

I just hope they realize for the sequel that holding back most the upgrades for a second or third time through the game was a huge mistake. The gadgets and forms add enough to the game that making it so you only start to get the gadgets at the end of the game, and only if you're lucky enough or have friends, and can only use the forms after you beat the game means most people probably won't even bother with ever seeing them. The game's biggest fault is that after the first level you've seen everything the game will do mechanically and then you hold back the upgrades from the player.
It may not work for the Very Hard trophy, but you can play through the game on a harder difficulty without starting over on crystals and gadgets via Chapter Select since that lets you choose a difficulty up front.

Seriously! Spread this shit out a little bit PSN! Mutant Mudds, Runner 2, Toki Tori are all going to get buried.

I just can't do it. I'm gonna stop playing yet another DS game and just focus on Vita/PS3 games. Trophies have ruined me.
I just bought a 3DS yesterday. I still don't know why. I love trophies too much!

The service is not ready for prime time.

It's not the fastest thing on the console and the selection and navigation leaves much to be desired.

Some tweaks, a better UI, and I think I'll try it again. Way too bare bones for what they're asking.
Agreed, it is not a bad service, I got an unbelievable value out of it during my $12 for 12 months promo, but I won't pay full price for it.
OK, I was trying it on PS3 last night, and the UI was awful. I've got it up on my PS4 right now and it's pretty sweet. Faster, with much more functionality.

So ya'll would rather play a mediocre game with trophies than a good game without?? I'd argue if the thought consumes you that much you probably just don't like that particular game very much. I had a free redbox code a few weeks ago so I rented Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon blah blah. That game is so terrible I almost had the nerve to call redbox and ask for my free code back. The entire time I'm wondering who would play something so dreadful. I'm guessing a trophy fiend has no boundaries, eh? lol

Speaking of which, the Netflix UI on PS3 (and I'm assuming PS4) is unrivaled. Just incredibly sexy and intuitive. I don't know when exactly it changed (maybe October), but it's strangely made watching stuff a lot more enjoyable.

When talking about trophies just remember that none of you are level 100 and are therefore all failures like myself. ;)

They just pulled a Beyonce/Radiohead...
Minecraft is bigger than the Jesus you can build in the game.

I do hope it's not too long until the PS4 version since I probably would buy that. Between gameplay sharing and remote play it seems like the best version to get.

I don't think it does. I just got what trophies I could then shipped it off for $40. When it ends up on PS+ in a year I'll play it on very hard and try to get the plat then.
