When it was stated VR was gonna be the focus of this announcement I thought there would be something exciting. Nope.... Total snoozefest. Got more excited for dusting off my PSVR just by watching some Star Wars Squadrons footage before the live stream. 1/10.
 
I am thinking about picking up the final fantasy VII deluxe content and just wait for a bigger sale on the base game is the deluxe content worth it?

The only thing that is worthwhile in the Deluxe Edition is the Carbuncle summon. Just a luxury feat to make early game and Hard Mode a bit easier, though you can get through the game just fine without it.

Has anyone bought DLC for a game on PSNow? I’m considering buying the season pass for Control. Especially since it’s on sale right now. I’m just hesitant about doing it since I don’t actually own the base game.
 
nioh 2 is $19.99 at best buy. would prefer digital but i doubt it will reach this price on psn in the next few months.

Even better, the Special Edition is $39.99. The steelbook + season pass for $20 is a steal IMO; I'm really enjoying the content from the first DLC, and there are still two more planned.

That seems like a hell of a deal but seems like the kinda game I would hate. It's like impossibly difficult right?
 
Nioh 2 is the first game I've ever gotten the Platinum for. (I've been on the network since launch). It engrossed me over the last month.

Depends, what games do you normally play? What games do you find too hard?

It is similar to dark souls in ways of difficulty. It can be tricky but its a game of memory. The bad guys and traps always pop out at the same spot, doing basically the same movesets. You learn what works and what doesnt. bosses in the first one could be really tough and unforgiving but you could summon a teammate to help. sadly it usually summoned someone totally useless OR someone so overpowered you wouldn't even contribute. You can also grind a little and get better gear and stats to make things a bit easier.

I never played the dlc because I was trying to finish NG+ and switched games. I really want to level up more when I have the chance and complete it.

I guess the thing that always deterred me from the souls games was how difficult it is factored in with how much progress you're set to lose when you die. If the game is difficult and requires memorization that's fine but if it's gonna send me back 30 minutes of progress each death that's not gonna be worth it for me. Bc I know I will die a lot lol
 
I have an extra Avengers preorder beta code if someone wants it. You need a Square Enix account to redeem it and get that actual beta code.
 
So Avenger's beta is...something. Destiny (Jarvis = ghost, defend area while Jarvis download/upload) meets high-end mobile game. There are so many currencies. I saw around 8 for gear alone. I'm using Kamala, and she's fun so far.
 
 
What is up with this stupid Avengers beta? I had to sign up with Square just to get a code and now can’t get into it because I’m waiting for an email to verify I signed up. Wtf?!?!?
 
The Avengers beta runs like shit on a base PS4 when there's any decent amount of action/characters on screen.  The motion blur and screen shake is nauseating.  The game is fun though if they fix up some of this stuff.

 
It's super early, but combat with Hulk and Kamala seems like such a chore. The opening sequence was fun and the boss battle against Taskmaster as Black Widow was really fluid and tight, but getting into the game just seems like a hassle, in my opinion. 

 
I played Fall Guys for about an hour but I couldn't stop thinking, "this is Gang Beasts without enjoying it with people in the same room."

I did enjoy my time with it, but can't see it as something I would play for a long period of time. 

 
having a split screen mode would have been epic... i say that with a lot of games. especially with a household full of gamers.

I only got through the opening sequence and most of the way through hulk's section in the hulk/Kamala part before it crashed on me. idk why, but the controls felt a bit janky to me and I also didn't enjoy what I did play for the reason you stated.

Personally, I also felt the VA overall wasn't great for the main cast. Black widow and Kamala were the exceptions to this, but Thor especially, was terrible imo. Didn't sound like the GOD OF THUNDER at all and more like civilian #4 with slight nordic accent that comes and goes.

I’m likely going to cancel my preorder of Avengers and wait for the inevitable, rapid price drop. Just not as excited after the beta. Too much change needed and I don’t feel confident they will get it right.
 
my gameshare buddy preordered avengers and eagerly tried to get me to finish the boring and drawn out tutorial so we could play together, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Especially if I am going to have to do it over again when the game is released.

On the same page as you 100%. Man, Hulk is supposed to be this brute in constant berserk mode, but somehow even against the most mundane grunt he seemed pretty powerless. I didn’t once feel badass when playing those story missions. The run-of-the-mill combat, like I said, was very much a chore. I’ll wait til it’s $20 before I bite on this. Hopefully by that time they’ll change gameplay up a bit.

EDIT: Oh and you're right on about Thor's voice actor. It's like they walked down the street and said, "hey you! do a nordic accent!" and said "good enough" to the first person they saw. It's quite bad. I'd also be willing to say that Troy Baker as Bruce Banner was a bad choice too.

I played a few hours of the Beta myself and I dunno how to feel tbh lol.  Game feels bland to me, but it wasn't the worst thing.  Gonna wait for the next couple Betas in the next two weeks and see if anything improves before I decide to order it or not.
