Game isn't worth it. I got all the way to the end boss, found out it was a 4-stage fight of just nonsense that would take hours to learn the fight and beat for absolutely no reward to me. I had nothing left to prove by then and was bored of it all. Unlike Souls games, I have no fond memories of this one whatsoever.

I wonder if that means that the file sizes of backwards compatible PS4 games will also be that small. As far as Sekiro goes, I like it a lot. But, I really want From Software to go back to making Armored Core games.
 
No Man's Sky is amazing. And, I can't wait to see all of the updates that they bring to it on PS5 and Xbox Series X. I also really enjoy their new game "The Last Campfire", it's probably the best $15 that I have spent on a video game this generation.

Even prime shipping is slow right now. If i order on Monday before noon, I can get it Friday or Saturday(they don't always do sats for me). Otherwise it's at least a week right now

I too ended up trading in sekiro (first month high trade value) without finishing the final boss (same complaint...got bored)

for reference, i have been a superfan of from software since demons souls.

imo, sekiro is a one playthrough game unlike the others because

a) limited builds and playstyles due to limited weapons (im generally not a katana main so being forced into its playstyle was fine for one playthrough) the best part of souls games is the replayability due to many types of playstyles and builds...this is missing from sekiro

b) boss fights were obnoxious due to less organic phases (the above complaint about the final boss is relevant) ... i much prefer a single health bar or they should have saved after completing a phase (ie i keep dying on phase 3 and now have to keep slugging through phase 1 and 2 which i have mastered just to get a chance at phase 3)

c) sekiro is very parry/counter focused and thats not really optional (this makes combat closer to one trick pony then a typical souls game)

Thanks for the sekiro feedback - I enjoy a good challenge but this so far is asking a level of perfection that I can't attain. It's a shame too because I really like the world and the game looks beautiful. The mechanics seem cool from what I've seen too.

I borrowed it from the library and I've got it for a couple of weeks so I'm sure I'll give it a few more tries. Hopefully it'll click for me because I'd love to see more of it
 
 
I really wanted Sekiro to click for me too but I felt like I was forcing it every time I got a little further. I platted all the souls games and even bloodborne. I might pick it back up again at some point, but the last boss sounds awful thanks.

I just avoid all Souls-style games because I know they are not for me. I'm old and just don't have time for that level of frustration. :)

 
Anyone know if it will be possible to add the PS+ collection to your account if you are a PS+ subscriber but don't own a PS5 yet?

How long are people expecting this offer to last? 1-2 years?

There's still very little info about it, or how it works, besides it being 18 PS4 games that you can download and play digitally for "free" with a PS+ subscription day one on your PS5. I imagine it to be like the ambassador program for the 3DS, in a way.

It's clearly a response to Microsoft's GamePass. Microsoft is now essentially selling GamePass and, if you want, a console to go along with it. I guess this is a half step towards trying to show some parity since you'll get "all these games" immediately. I'm not really sure why they don't just turn PS Now into a true GamePass competitor and maybe that's the eventual goal and they just want to move slowly.

And yet they claim it isn't because their head is still buried in the sand and believe it's not a sustainable model. MS has deep pockets, so that may be true for now but determination is a hell of a thing. I think selling upgraded hardware is something anyone can do, so that's a far less sustainable model long-term. Eventually, someone will knock you on your ass. . .oh wait. . .

If it's anything like Game Pass they will cycle the 3rd party ones out for something new (with fair warning to hurry up and finish) after a certain amount of time. The 1st party ones might stay longer but you won't be adding these games to your account permanently like with the usual PS+ games.

Thanks for the sekiro feedback - I enjoy a good challenge but this so far is asking a level of perfection that I can't attain. It's a shame too because I really like the world and the game looks beautiful. The mechanics seem cool from what I've seen too.
I borrowed it from the library and I've got it for a couple of weeks so I'm sure I'll give it a few more tries. Hopefully it'll click for me because I'd love to see more of it

Don’t give up on it. The central core of the combat is the parry system. For almost every enemy you encounter you have to stand your ground and parry their attacks by just tapping R1 to their attack patterns. For ogre like enemies just use hit and run tactics along with your ninja tools. The area you’re stuck at now is kind of a long combat tutorial. You are meant to die often, because the real test is when you reach the castle and fight genichiro. That boss fight will destroy you until you master the parry. That was where the game clicked for me at least. I’m garbage at dark souls games, but I loved this game enough to get the platinum. Good luck!

And so? That's a reduction of 17.5 gb. That's not much. I would be more impressed if it was half but even then that still won't solve the storage space issues sony has.

im honestly really curious what expansion solution will be better

sony will only work with specific ssds, xbox will only work with proprietary cards, yes?

i think xbox might be better cost wise for the first few years, then. maybe later we'll see if ps5-compatible ssds become commonplace

I usually parry in most games, which is why I sort of like Bloodborne and Demon's Souls more than Dark Souls. But it's not that the parry was hard in Sekiro. It's that it mixes attacks that can't be parried. I actually lasted a long ass time against
Lady Butterfly compared to Juzou the Drunkard
because I have a habit of parrying. Then I couldn't parry
Gyoubu
either and tried a different path, and
got eaten twice by a snake.
And that's when I gave up.

For a game that was supposed to be parry focused, there sure are a lot of attacks that can't be parried.

I'm the weirdo that parries in God of War instead of rolling around like a madman.

Of course you don't need to have them installed. But I have dozens of games that I play with friends online occasionally. When a certain friend is online for the evening I won't have time to install and patch an entire game just to play that day.

My kids play certain games too, some games require a daily login to get extra rewards. Sometimes if I uninstall a game I put down it will mean that I might never pick it up again, but if its installed and I am bored and cruising through my library it typically gets reived and possibly beaten.

expensive, but a 1tb compatible ssd for the ps5 will likely be more expensive for a while

that only applies to..........i think the free PT teaser is the only time thats happened on ps4. i have delisted games i can still download on ps4

The current rumor on the pricing of the Xbox expansion card is it's about $220, so this stuff isn't going to be cheap for the time being because it's such new, expensive tech for the speeds required.

The cost of memory expansion is the #1 reason to wait on the next gen systems. In a year or 2 the cost to upgrade the memory on the PS5 should be considerably cheaper.
 
Well I was going to hold off on any new PS4 games but...

Anyone have opinions on Doom (PS Hits) for $6 or Doom 64 for $2.50?

The last Doom I played was plain old regular Doom on a PC, I guess before WIn95?

The Doom reboot is a steal for 6 bucks, I liked it better than eternal.

You are now able to play them without needing to sign into a Bethesda account, however Doom & Doom II seem to phone home every seven seconds. Well, I don't know if it's actually home that they're phoning, but they are constantly attempting to connect to the internet as seen here.

Delisted games remain downloadable except in RARE cases, example being P.T. But even then that was an oddity in itself.
