Definitely hear that, I refused for years even though it would have saved me some money. Now that I shop there far more frequently, it just made sense. I will say this: WAIT until they offer a promo before signing up again. Latest one was $40 off $40 but we may see an even better one in time for Christmas. That was the one mistake I made when signing up because they offered something like that literally a week after I applied. It had just completely slipped my mind at the time.

Played it a bit today and I dunno how I feel about it tbh. Some of the kills feel super cheap. Also it takes like 5 seconds to throw a fucking grenade lol. I think it needs work but has potential. To me, MW is much better in terms of polish.

I had been holding out for a sale... honestly kind of thought (like many others) there would have been some kind of blowout sale just to make some $.
Also, checked for Oath... no dice. My ps+ did lapse for 2 or 3 months at one point, so that figures. Looks like I have a monster hunter for psp though. Might have to download that.

If they're delisting them because they aren't selling enough to justify the effort of keeping them around in the redesign, then it's not surprising that they aren't going to have a sale. Besides, it's not as though you'll be unable to buy anything going forward; it's just going to be a bit more annoying because you have to use the native shop applications.

 
I have a really strange issue on the ps3’s console store for a while now where nothing shows a price or even the “buy” button. There is actually nothing viewable under the game’s picture on any of the individual product pages. Nothing shows to even download demos or whatever else is usually listed there. The other weird part is if you click down you can tell that something invisible is being highlighted in the empty space and if you click X it will add the game to my cart, but I’ve tried this on games I know for a fact that I own digitally and it still adds them to the cart to make a purchase. I don’t think this is console specific either as it happens with any ps3 I log my account into. I’ve tried Google searching from time to time and I can’t find anyone else with this issue either. All the other suggestions people make about the store like deleting it and redownloading, trying options in safe mode, and even full system restores don’t help. I’m really going to miss the web store and the app! lol

I'm reminded of Steve Jobs talking about Apple's decision not to support Adobe flash on the iPad. When you go to make a new product, it's not like every feature from the old technology comes for free. You make decisions about what to spend your time on and support. The mere fact that something existed in the past doesn't justify supporting it into the future.

I can't envision a next-gen storefront with a bunch of shitty fucking garbage last-gen-esque "themes" and "avatars" polluting up all the pages and search results (and even posts here on CAG about "free content" available on the store, as if themes and avatars are "content" and not pollution).

Having to buy "themes" and "avatars" on a storefront is so fucking seventh generation. Good riddance, I welcome a new store without that baggage.

Just gonna say that you are 100% right that the implementation of themes and avatars into the store has been detrimental. Trying to browse the Deals section each week became more trouble than it was worth years ago.

As for the rest of it, this was all likely going to happen no matter what, but this rollout should have been better. I don’t know, all I hope is that they at least don’t make things even worse for the legacy systems in the short term.
 
It's funny how getting rid of themes and avatars will seemingly make the store easier to shop when they could have just made it not suck at filtering them out.

As for the rest of it, this was all likely going to happen no matter what, but this rollout should have been better. I don’t know, all I hope is that they at least don’t make things even worse for the legacy systems in the short term.

Themes and avatars don't pollute the store much compared to the numerous garbage shovelware games and dlc.
 
Avatars and other trash definitely pollute the store when you're looking through DLC content for a game with a lot of it. I've had that experience several times and it usually ends in me throwing my hands up and walking away from the purchase entirely.

They need to make it so that custom game currency only shows up in-game and not in the PSN storefront.  I get so annoyed going to the store's "New This Week" list and seeing Let It Die's Death Metal packs every single week.  How are the same currency packs showing up as new every damn week?  The publishers probably think that showing off their currency every week keeps the game in the public's eye. but it's actually really counter-intuitive.  I can't tell you how many games I've passed on because I went to their DLC list and saw half a dozen currency packs.

If they don't honor street date, you may be able to get it. Probably would be worth a chance to pick up a few.

Odds are they are in the back and aren't even on shelves though.

 
Got all the regular Ghostbuster rewards but the Slimer topper this morning (need four more assists). I have four pumpkin loot box opportunities left, hope the Ecto-1 pops up.
 
For a while the PS4 had weekly sales on Tuesday and flash sales about once a month. Now the sales seem to cover irregular overlapping timeframes, IMO the sale prices aren't as good as they used to be, and I can't remember the last time I saw a flash sale.

We all know the PS5 is coming up, wouldn't it make sense to have a few blowout PS4 sales before next gen arrives?

Does anyone know why Sony changed up the way they do sales?

I remember this, each sale was one week and would end and start predictably. On a random Friday once a month there would be a flash sale with deep discounts. I miss those days and don't know why the hell they did away with it.

Don't forget the frequent discount coupons, at least one every month or two we never get anymore.

Sony changed because they felt they didn't need to do this anymore, simple as that. They are going into this generation with every bit of arrogance they went into the PS3 generation. Bold strategy Cotton, let's see how it pays off.

though I do appreciate the few games they have dropped to crazy lows (below 2 bucks) I do miss the tuesday weekly update, new games, new sales that last one week, easy to track. Whoever decided to haphazardly toss sales around with themes that don't really apply properly.... well thanks a lot.
